Merrimu Receptions

An elegant period home that has been turned into a reception venue. It's directly across the road from Chadstone Shopping Centre, so a very busy area and although there is some limited off street parking, unless you are early, you'll have to find a spot in the surrounding residential streets. Merrimu has 2 function rooms with seperate adjacent entrances. The older part of the original building and the newer, larger ballroom area. The venue is lovely inside and out and is very well maintained. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food we had was delicious restaurant quality.

It's been nearly 9 months since our wedding day, and I've been going back and forth, trying to find the right words to describe just how amazing this venue is. But the truth is, no words can do it justice. This place is a true masterpiece of wedding perfection, and my attempts to convey its excellence often fall short. From their unparalleled customer service to the extraordinary food and their commitment to bringing our vision to life, it's an experience that's left me almost speechless in the best possible way.
I had the privilege of hosting my wedding at this exceptional venue, and I cannot sing their praises enough. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for the entire experience.

Peter was exceptional in every way! He made sure to attend to all our needs and made planning sooo easy!

We strongly recommend this venue for your wedding. If you are looking for a reception hall that is stunning with great service and delicious food this is it! Peter was very accommodating, in particular, with the ever changing covid regulations.

We cannot thank Peter and the team enough for our Wedding - this Saturday that just passed. Everything was perfect! Our family and friends were so impressed with the amount of food as well as the food itself, the service, as well as the beautiful venue!

The lead up to the wedding was quite stressful due to Covid but Peter accommodated to everything we needed and therefore made the process as smooth as possible! Honestly, we couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our Wedding! Very highly recommend!

Great place to have weddings, club functions and catch up with freinds and other poeple. Food was really good and good enviroment.

Peter was such a pleasure to deal with, he was very accommodating and made everything easy and simple. The staff were fantastic. The venue was perfect for our wedding reception in April. The food was delicious, we received many compliments from our guests and the room very nicely arranged. It's a lovely period building with a pretty courtyard. Just lovely, highly recommend!

Look no further. Don’t waste your time researching and looking at other venues. This is it. This one ticks all the boxes and then some. The food is amazing. Everyone and I mean every! One! Was impressed and complimentary. You know how there is always one.nope not with anyone at my function at Merrimu. Not now and not then. We had our sons christening at Merrimu over the weekend. And got married here 14 years ago and it’s still a fabulous place which is why I didn’t bother wasting my time looking anywhere else.
The rooms are gorgeous. The courtyards are lovely and you can get some beautiful photos there.
Peter and his team are so accommodating and helpful. Nothing seemed a bother. I had a zillion queries and questions. He was always available to me to answer anything and steer me in the right direction. Where normally, organizing a christening during the current climate (covid), would be stressful and a time of elevated anxiety, it was far from that. Peter made is smooth sailing and put me at ease. He was available on phone or email. Very responsive and super helpful.
