Mernda YMCA Early Learning Centre

After reluctantly leaving our last service due to a change in circumstance, I went searching for the best centre in Mernda to send my son to.
I looked at 4 different services and I just couldn't fault mernda ymca. Natalia showed me through the whole centre, the staff engaged with myself and my son whilst there, which is something I can't say about other services I visited.
Now he is enrolled and has been there a few months, it's like he was always there. He loves going and loves the staff. He talks about them at home too. I fell very lucky to have such a nice service so close to home, where I feel comfortable leaving my boy whilst I go off to work.

Nathalia and the well experienced Educators made the child care much better than 4 years ago.

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the wonderful experience I had as an employee working in the childcare centre at YMCA. I can confidently say that in all my years of working in the childcare industry, YMCA has been one of the best places I have ever worked.

Working at YMCA childcare centre was not only an amazing experience for me but also for the children I cared for. I was constantly impressed with the high level of care, professionalism, and dedication that was demonstrated by the entire team. As a result, the children were always happy, engaged and thriving in a safe and nurturing environment.

The facilities at YMCA were exceptional, and provided children with the opportunity to explore, learn and play in a clean and stimulating environment. The various activities that were available to the children, including music, movement, arts and crafts, and outdoor play, were always well-organized, age-appropriate, and meticulously planned.

I am thankful to be part of an amazing team and grateful for the amazing opportunities and experiences provided through YMCA's childcare centre. I highly recommend YMCA childcare centre to any parent looking for a high-quality and safe childcare service.

Best childcare in the area. Might be small in numbers but staff are fantastic and the children are happy. Our child has been there for 3.5 years and no other childcare/kinder. They are like our extended family.
Highly recommend Mernda YMCA ELC would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

Amaging staff with so much heart and caring mindset. The educators and management's is really coommited to provide a safe, fun and loving envrionment for kids. I am very thankful to the whole team and keep doing this Amaging work!

I highly recommend this centre, they are more like a family to my son then just an early childhood learning centre.
The minute you enter that gates everyone makes my son feel loved and welcomed!

YMCA Mernda ELC - Very happy to be sending my child to this centre; all the kids I have seen, incl mine, are going and leaving the centre happy. Kids get freshly cooked meals and the educators do a fantastic job in looking after them and participating in their development.

Lovely place and all the educators are nice and professional. My daughter has been taken good care in here every day. Strongly recommended!

Menrda Park YMCA - Fantastic centre with fantastic people! My daughters have both learnt and grown so much whilst here. They both have great bonds with many educators and are always happy to go everyday. I feel very secure in knowing my girls are always been taken care of and loved All of the staff are amazing, friendly and always approachable. Highly recommend!

YMCA Mernda has been a second house for both my kids. The staff here is one one of the biggest strengths in this centre. They are friendly, kind, helping, supportive and enthusiastic. My elder child has started school this year but she still misses her Kinder time at YMCA. The whole structure, including flexible channels of communication, easy enrolment process and great manager all together makes this centre a happy and lively place to stay. Highly recommend my friends and family to YMCA Mernda.

Our daughter has attended Mernda ymca for the past 3 years and looks forward to going. The staff are warm and nurturing and always greet us with a smile. We receive regular updates with photos of the activities of the day. She has learnt so much from being at the centre. Would definitely recommend

They take very good care of my 3yo son there, Oliver. The 1st time that I went there pick him up he was crying asking for his parents; and, I over reacted. They understood me and they were very supportive with me. I really appreciated it. I trust them with 33% of my treasure = my younger son.

If I could give this centre a zero out of ten rating I would. They had two bunnies in a TINY enclosure out in the Sun no food, no water now they are not there. I expressed concerns yet NO CHANGES.they had 6-8 ducks in a 2mx2m enclosure. Again filthy water, NO FOOD and mud. I spoke to centre manager and director NO CHANGES.when the ducks were finally moved to a larger enclosure that was NOT FENCED safely the ducks were leaving from the gaps with clipped wings. Their whereabouts despite NUMOROUS calls and emails remains a mystery. THEN they brought NEW ducks after all that negligence and placed them AGAIN in the filthy, tiny enclosure with NO FOOD and FILTHY water. After reports from myself and neighbours to the RSPCA the ducks were moved temporarily UNTIL NEW enclosure is created and made safe. So 8 missing animals latter and numerous reports and complains they placed straw around the metal largely spaced fence and a TINY toy home to provide "shelter" for 5-6 ducks that DO NOT fit and are exposed to 40celsius heat and thunderstorms in Melbourne.well done for neglecting lives so as you can save $150

My kids attended other childcare before. But none is like this one. I feel it has changed a lot since a year ago. New centre manager is not a warm friendly person at all, never responded to my text msg neither email. No one answers the phone most of time. No communications with parents. Only communication is a daily reflection email from centre manager which doesn’t even come in on a regular basis. No consistency or whatsoever. Not a favourable experience so far really. Was expecting for responsible teachers (some teachers are ok) and a leader who knows a bit basic of customer service, especially in a community based centre but a bit disappointed.

Not recommended. The center manager is not concern with parents request and kids are not looked after to the level we were satisfied. All the 5 stars are rated by the teachers who work here so good for them but not for parents.
