Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had as a customer, and having worked in customer service usually I'm very understanding.
Brought a faulty Husqvarna whipper snipper in for the second time (12 months into a 5 year warranty). I ask them to take a look, and the gentleman gives me the most condescending lecture about how it's definitely because I've been using old fuel older than 26 days old, despite telling them I'd had issues with it from day one. In the course of talking to me like I was a child, he tells me that they'll take a look for $40, but it almost certainly won't be covered by warranty. Since the thing didn't even start, I left it with them.
Three weeks go by with no word from the fine folks at Red Shed Bayswater, so I call up to find out what the deal is. I give my reference number and ask for an update, to which they reply "I'll let you know" and hang up on me. I wait for an update that doesn't come, and call back the next day. This time they tell me they'll find out and call me back. One hour later, they call back and I'm told that it's ready for pickup.
When I arrive and ask for the whipper snipper, I'm handed an invoice of $162 for replacing the faulty ignition coil. After I refused to pay, he did a 180 and told me that it was covered under warranty (no apology, mind you).
Fuming at the whole experience, I asked how long it had been ready for pickup and was told it had only been fixed yesterday. That's despite the invoice they gave me stating the job had been completed today, and that it took an hour to complete.
Through my experiences in dealing with the staff at this store, I feel they condescended to me, were dishonest with me, and tried to talk me out of a service that they knew I might not be paying out of pocket for.
I'd happily pay more at another retailer to avoid dealing with them again. Buy elsewhere and save yourself the trouble.
Good customer support when I bought a chainsaw recently. A shame that most staff did not wear masks, despite nearly 6000 Covid cases per day in Vic at the moment.
Always get my mowers and chainsaws serviced here and but new equipment. Excellent and prompt service at reasonable prices.
