Melbourne Yoga & Meditation Centre reviews
5I find Melbourne Yoga and Meditation Centre special as students receive very personalised tuition due to the small class sizes. Malcolm, the studio director, shares his in-depth knowledge of yoga and meditation which enriches the experience. He is an authentic teacher and is great at making what is learned at the studio relevant to modern life. I’ve been going for 3 years and during this time have seen my health improve which helps me to deal with the stresses of everyday life.
I am a huge fan of this yoga studio. When I arrived in Melbourne in June 2015, I instantly looked for a good yoga teacher and an authentic studio. I was introduced to yoga through the natha yoga practice in France, which includes asanas, breathing and visualization. What Malcolm's created in his studio is the authentic hatha yoga practice and philosophy, and I was desperate to find that. Hatha Yoga taught at Melbourne Yoga and Meditation Centre is strict but anyone can practise and Malcolm is always around to correct and adjust And it is not just asanas. Meditation classes are my personal favourite. Finally, as a French native speaker, I was very happy that the classes are not too crowded so that the teacher takes time to explain words and expressions international yoga lovers don't get straight away. And the slides describing the posture make it really hard not to get it.
In five words, I can sum up my experience: : :
*** Melbourne Yoga changed my life***.
I do not say this lightly nor glibly. I found this studio through serendipity, and thought I'd give it a try. This is not the kind of place where people compare the latest yoga clothes, nor do they arrive with hot lattes in hand. This is a place to learn, really get into the depths, and it is unlike any other studio I have attended. It is incredible to be a part of the work there, and it has impacted me so much, I consider some of them truly like family. The space is clean and quiet, it has a sacred feeling, as if just entering there will help to bring into the light that which needs it most. And as for the staff, they are top notch. Both Malcolm and Cath have traveled internationally, learning and teachng, acquiring knowledge and awareness through their own journeys to share with you here. I personally and highly recommend them, and this is a real review. Even when I am not in Australia, I take their teachings with me, and practice on my own. It is that kind of learning, where you engage in a way to make all of it - the yoga, the breathing, the philosophy - a part of your own everyday life. If it is time for you, too, to start living in this way, then this is literally the place for you. I encourage you to try it. Bright Blessings, all. ~Jennifer
I have really loved the yoga class with Malcolm. He pushes us just enough and a fraction more each time. I feel fantastic after a class and even when I think it might be easier to just give up, I make myself go and always know it was/is the BEST decision. His wisdom is also an extra bonus. Thank you so much Malcolm.
I have been attending Melbourne Yoga and Meditation Centre since 2010. It is more intimate than other studios that I have visited, with the teacher (Malcolm Clark) providing hands-on personal tuition to make sure that you are completing postures safely and correctly. As a former athlete and avid runner, regular sessions help keep me on my feet and avoid injuries. It helps me focus and perform better in all that I do.
