Melbourne Pawnbroker - Treasures of Prahran

Rude owner, have been looking for a Tag Heuer Calibre 17 watch for a while and finally found one, after asking the price I asked if I could try on and was immediately dismissed as “were too busy sorry” and he walked off. I understand chapel st can be rough but treating potential customers like this was incredibly insulting.

Absolutely shocking place. Last time I was there I swore I would never return, today I wish I'd listened!

At my last visit I was told the price for an item which I agreed to. The store is cash only so I popped over the road to the ATM. On my return I was told the item was actually several hundreds more. They also didn't give me back my ID which led to an extra trip. Colossal waste of time and I was left fuming.

I went back today cautiously hoping the experience would be different, but unfortunately not. I was treated like an absolute criminal, the whole thing was a completely bizarre experience. Some great stuff but prices were high, and customer service is.non-existent. I can see why the shop is so full as they surely can't shift stock with their attitudes.

I'm an easy-going person who doesn't expect silver platter service, but this was too much for me. I'll not be back.

I find the customer service very good and always efficient. I've been going there for years and had no issues in selling my goods as they always help me out if it's valuable to them. People are saying they are rude but I find them friendly they are Vietnamese and it's just the reserved manner that Asians tend to have in business dealings it's cultural. It's not offensive to me and I like them.

Worst experience ever, having to pay another $300 ($600 all up) interest on a $1500 loan, even though I paid $150 on the day it was due and bought it back 2 days later for $2100. Charged me $300 extra for 48 hours, cheers mate.
Absolutely heartless, money grabbing by the owner. Never again.

Bought a ps3 from here that was listed on Gumtree. The controller they had with the console to test out was broken so they swapped it for a different one no extra charge. The console runs great so far. Would shop here again

Worst experience ever. Sellers are rude. They don't test their product so be aware that you can buy something faulty from them. And even if their products are faulty, they won't reduce the price. I came to buy something from them, and was happy to help a local shop. Well I ended up giving my money somewhere else. Such a shame to run a business and have the worst customer service.

Update: Look like you're more talkative on internet than in real life, good. Joycons were faulty has they werent working well even plugged on the Nintendo. Also, parts of both joycons were missing, so the product isn't complete. Why would we pay full price?

They make fake descriptions of product, than when you come. There’s extra damages not mention. They waste your time, just to come down hoping you will impulse buy….

I wouldn't go and don't go anywhere else to sell or buy.

If your a loyal customer they look after you unlike ALL other pawn shops.

Lied to my face about the cost of my item, which was brand new still in the box. Treated me like I was a liability and even though I have been pawning stuff for years, gave me the worst service ever. Made it known he wasn't keen to loan me the small amount he offered and to add to the insult of injury spoke in his own language to his colleague, obviously about my item and me, for he was holding the item, and I was the only, if you could call it that, customer in the shop. And it is the height of rudeness at the best of times to speak in one's native tongue, full well knowing the person of whom they were discussing, has no idea what was said. There is a slogan around today that has 2 words, support local. This guy gets a third and a fourth, DON'T SUPPORT THIS LOCAL

This is by far and away the best pawnbrokers in Melbourne, and I should know, I have tried them all! Treasures Of Prahran has very low interest and friendly and helpful staff. There have even been time when I haven't had the money to make interest payments on the day, and because I called in advance to notify them they were helpful with a small time extension. They have helped me out many times and I am very grateful, they definitely get 5 stars from me.

The Asian dude at the shop told me he can't buy my watch because he never heard of the shop that it was originally purchased from.mazzucchelli's that is hahahahaha

Unreasonable uneducated staff, unwilling to compromise.they should really do a bit more research on the products they are selling before pricing accordingly. High prices for selling items and low offerings for pawning goods, disappointed with my visit here, waste of time.

Overpriced items and not even good quality, rude and only except cash! It is now illegal to own a shop in 2020 and say we only except cash! Learn some customer service skills guys honestly this is not good enough.

Extremely poor salesmanship and quality of service. Was interested in a Ibanez Jem guitar. Was talking via email and calls to the store, was quoted the wrong price initially and the reason behind it was the staff member did not know. It was a $50 difference then what they wanted eventually I matched what they wanted. Requested additional pictures of the guitar, never received them. Found the serial number of the guitar on gumtree which they posted aswell and ran the serial number via serial decoder, Ibanez serial decoder said it never manufactured this guitar. That’s not it, upon calling the store when I asked about there insurance policy which was mentioned to be via email previously, the salesperson said he would not want to sell the guitar to me. Amazing! I have been in customer service for 18 years and a musician for life and never experienced this level of service before. Highly discourage this store and even if you want to purchase from them, please triple check the authenticity of the product. Absolute disgrace!

To be honest, the staff were helpful and accomodating.
As a buyer the prices were brilliant, thanks for the dewalt battery.
Only accept cash BUT i did get a proper RECEIPT without even asking for one.

The Owner was extremely helpful (and patient!) with a DJI Drone purchase, nothing was a bother and the price was negotiable; the product is in perfect condition and very impressed with the eventual price!

They posted an item on gumtree so I contacted them, confirmed price and arranged to pick it up the next day. I left work early to get there, but they had sold it to someone else!
