Melbourne Palliative Care - Call on Clare

We engaged Call on Clare to help care for my father when he became very unwell. Their compassion experience and empathy was outstanding. The understanding they showed us was excellent and their care for us all was greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend using their service especially during these very stressful times

Our experience with Call on Clare, from our very first phone call with Clare, to our final goodbye, was nothing short of amazing. The compassion, care, expertise and professionalism was incredible. After a long illness, my elderly father recently passed away at his Melbourne home, where he wished to remain right up until the very last. As a family, we would have been unable to travel that journey without the services of Call on Clare. The carers who came to look after Dad daily with a high level of professionalism and dedication and respect were exemplary and their kindness was universal. As progressively more intensive care became necessary, the marvellous people in the Call on Clare office were always able to supply that care at extremely short notice. The office seemed to be working at all hours of day and night, providing us with the confidence and services we needed to continue to care for Dad at home - everybody worked together wonderfully to make my father’s final weeks as caring, smooth and peaceful as possible.

The incredible music therapy provided by Diana from Call on Clare, right up until the very last, was just beautiful and made such a difference for my father. Diana, who plays acoustic guitar and has the voice of an angel, did us the ultimate honour by performing some of Dad’s favourites at his funeral service.

Further on in time, when our acute sadness ebbs, we will be able to look back on an achievement my father would have totally approved of - to be able to remain in his beloved home until the end, fully supported and cared for in an environment where he was surrounded by quiet love and special people. We cannot thank Clare and her team enough for all they have done for us as a family. It is a privilege for us to have got to know some very extraordinary people at a very difficult time in all our lives.

Clare and the team at Call on Clare are so easy to deal with. They are professional, quick to respond and were amazing with our whole family as we navigated organising care for my dad. All the carers are well trained, personable and knowledgeable and have fitted in seamlessly. The coordinators were able to organise extra care with only a few hours notice, and we receive daily care updates and visit notes. We would, and have already, recommended Call on Clare to anyone who needs extra in home care support short term or if you have an In Home Care package.

I recently sought assistance from Call on Clare with regard to providing in-home nursing assistance for my 96-year father, who suffers from dementia. Given the complexity of Dad's case, we did not end up using Clare's service. However, over a period of nearly two weeks she worked with us to identify different care options. Clare's advice was timely, informed and always centred on achieving the best outcomes for Dad. I was singularly impressed by the professionalism and level of personalised service that Clare provided. I am most impressed with Clare and the service she provides.

We desperately needed help with my 94 year old mum after she came home from hospital bedridden, with a catheter. Clare from Call on Clare was so kind and helpful. She went above and beyond to help us. She was able to get a fabulous nurse to come out the next day to help us care for mum. Kim, the nurse Clare sent was so kind and efficient. She was able to care for mum and reassure dad while teaching him what to do. Dad called Kim an angel.

I needed to add to this review. Call on Clare again sent us a lovely nurse who came and helped us look after mum overnight, Mum ended up dying that night, it was fabulous to have such a knowledgeable, calm, and kind nurse who helped us through such a difficult and sad night.

Late last year, my mother took very poorly over a weekend. She wanted to stay home with us but we were unable to meet her care needs. Call on Clare was able to arrange for a palliative care nurse to come at short notice on a Sunday, and Clare's team of lovely nurses provided for Mum with great care and attentiveness over her last few days. Special thanks to the wonderful Kristen who was there supporting us at the start, and at the end. We are most grateful.

I recently had an ankle accident and my husband was overseas attending a closed ones demise. The team arranged a carer for me in a very short notice and I received best care for the 4 weeks (3 hours most days). They helped me and my kids with essential duties and my shower support. This team is incredibly efficient starting from communication to actual care and support around the house. High regards for time punctuality and humane considerations for peoples personal situations. 5 stars all the way!

We recently had to employ the services of Call on Clare, to assist in caring for my Dad at home in his final days. I cannot speak more highly of this company and the staff we engaged.
They were professional, compassionate and the standard of nursing care provided to Dad was excellent. They were able to meet our needs with less than 24 hrs notice, securing a palliative care nurse for an initial night shift and then a second night.
I would not hesitate to use Call on Claire again and if you are needing urgent assistance for care, definitely call them as they will do everything they can to meet your needs.
