I feel so grateful and lucky to be able to learn guitar from Mike. He is a fantastic (professional, touring) musician but yet he is an incredibly patient and understanding teacher. I started as an absolute beginner and, 3 years later, my only regret is not having started earlier.

Mike has a deep and broad understanding of music and theory (in guitar, piano, vocals) but he always puts the student and their goals first. I started learning with acoustic guitar, then some with electric, and now even enjoy learning to sing (I never imagined being comfortable enough to do this!).

I can't imagine other music schools being able to match the depth of knowledge and personal attention you get from Mike. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I've been going to Michael for piano lessons for the last 6 months or so and he's an amazing teacher, very lucky to have found him. He helps so much with technique, musicality, theory and practice strategies. He's also a very lovely person to get along with. Highly recommend:)

I have been taking guitar lessons from Mike for the past year and cannot recommend him enough! Mike has been an amazing teacher and exactly what I was looking for. He is very encouraging and supportive and has made my lessons fun and engaging, keeping me motivated with an eye still fixed on my goals for my playing.

At first I was very nervous to sing in front of others, but Mike made it very easy for me and helped me to train and fine-tune my vocals. As I was progressing in my singing, we began to do some guitar lessons too so I could progress both simultaneously. Mike was fantastic at letting me chose what I wanted to dedicate my time towards in the lessons, and sent me home each week with great notes on how to improve.

Mike is a great teacher, I wouldn't be where I am today without his teachings. He's super friendly, knowledgeable and great to chat to. Can easily highly recommend Mike as a teacher!

I’ve been doing guitar lessons with Mike now since around May 2020 and can’t recommend him highly enough. We’ve had to be flexible with lessons due to the various lockdowns, meaning lessons have been held via skype or in person. Either way, the lessons are a lot of fun and I always walk away feeling I’m on the right track and have learned something important. Mike has an encyclopedic knowledge of music history and theory, and his techniques and exercises are effective and satisfying to work through. I’d highly recommend Mike whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player wanting to take the next step or wanting guidance on something specific.

I have been learning piano with Mike for a few years now and it has been an awesome experience! He's a very enthusiastic and supportive teacher with a strong interest in the learning process, and he has a great ability to spot the one or two things you need to focus on in order to keep you progressing, without overwhelming you. He has a really strong understanding of the instrument and the physiology behind piano playing, which really helps with laying good foundations for your future playing. Mike is very patient, and lessons are relaxed and fun, but he can also challenge you and stretch you in new directions if you're up for it. I definitely recommend giving Mike a try!

I began lessons with Mike around six months ago. Since then I feel I have made substantial progress in my guitar playing. Mike's energy and passion for the guitar and teaching is apparent from the get go. His extensive knowledge of the guitar and the theory behind it as well as his ability to scaffold and target learning to my stage of development has without doubt accelerated my guitar skills and theoretical understanding of the instrument. In addition, Mike's ability to communicate new and challenging concepts in a creative and easily understandable fashion is a real gift. I would recommend Mike to any guitarist who is looking to seriously improve their playing in both a structured and enjoyable way. I look forward to continuing to learn under Mike's tutelage and am excited to see how my playing continues to progress!

Edit: I've been seeing Michael for about 3 years now. When I started I was struggling and straining my voice with the high notes. Now.not at all. I can hit those high notes comfortably and easily, and I'm now hitting notes higher than I thought possible. Previously I could barely sing 2 octaves. Now I've almost reached 3 octaves! I'd say these results speak for themselves.

I've been taking lessons with Mike for almost a year now and I feel like I've progressed more in this one year with him than I had with previous teachers in the 6 years of learning when I was younger. Mike tailors each lesson and learning development to your wishes and goals allowing you to grow with enjoyment and ease. Big recommendation if you're actually wanting to progress in your playing!

Hands down, Mike is the best music teacher! I have been fortunate to be able to take lessons from Mike on and off since 2012. Both in person and through Skype. His knowledge of music, the guitar and people is amazing. I've had lessons from other teachers in the past and it just never clicked. With Mike it clicks. His way of teaching makes it easy to understand what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. "Slow down, count out loud, tap your foot" he says. You will see it in your playing if you practice what he says. He always has a path to the lessons and how he thinks different exercises and songs will improve your playing. There is a reason for what he does which you will find out as you see yourself improve. Other guitar teachers I felt like they didn't have a direction for me. I have learned so many great songs (acoustic and electric) in all different genres. I look forward to every week because its fun and Mike is a great human being and a Rock Star

I was struggling with learning guitar from youtube and apps for years and finally decided to take up lessons with Mike. I can't believe how far I have come in a few months with Mike's help. He is an excellent teacher combining professional attitude and long term goals with a relaxed, flexible and open teaching style. Highly recommended!

I have been doing weekly guitar lessons with Mike for a few months now, and I have honestly enjoyed every second. Mike is a fantastic teacher who knows how to focus on the things that will make YOUR guitar playing better, not just giving out general advice. He really cares about his teaching and it shows. Could not recommend Mike Beach enough

I needed some help to prepare for a role as a lead singer in a new band. So I needed help with my voice, and with my guitar skills. Mike had some really good, helpful insights into singing that enabled me to very quickly unlock parts of my voice and give me confidence to hit the notes. It was exactly what I needed, and helped enormously. I'm now getting into some guitar work, and can see that heading down the same path. Mike was able to quickly connect and understand what I needed to get where I wanted to be, and delivered it with style patience and good humour. Highly recommended!

I've been getting lessons from Mike for several years. I started from scratch and now I play most days. I am nowhere near professoonal standard but I have made up a few songs of my own and I even sang and played at a work party. And got away with it. Mike places a great emphasis on the rhythm and within a few lessons you can be playing simple songs even if you're a beginner. Can't recommend Mike highly enough.

Michael is extremely patient and tailors your lessons to your current skill set and where you want to be in the future. Michael provides strong feedback and is always willing to accomodate to any changes you need. I have seen my guitar playing improve greatly over the time of being a student. You won't regret it!
