Melbourne Music Education

Ann Nguyen at Melbourne Music Education is an excellent teacher. Calm, patient and wise beyond her years. Being an adult learner with a full-time very demanding IT day job during the week, I particularly love the flexibility of having classes on weekends. I love Ann's ability to recognize each student's strength and weakness and work around it, tailoring the approach for each piece and challenge - whether it's for an AMEB exam piece or for student recital concerts. She gives us mini-challenges in the form of "holiday homework" that is creative and exciting and ensures we play and practice through term breaks, without getting bored. She is extremely organized and methodical in her approach. Ann caters beautifully to each student's level and also ultimate goal, even if its very different to her own. She never thwarts individual merit and interest, making learning music, theory and pedagogy, site reading, performance, and exam preparation, so much fun.

I learnt the piano with Ann, as a beginner for 5 months. It was an awesome experience. I wasn't really good at any kind of music at first but Ann's curriculum is excellent for beginners because she not only teaches you how to play piano but also teaches music theory. Currently, I can play 'City of Stars' from La la land which I always wanted to play on the piano! Also playing the piano is perfect for me. It can help me relieve stress and helps me focus on other work after playing some piano. I strongly recommend learning piano with Ann if you considering taking a new hobby to relax.

Unfortunately, I had to stop learning due to business in Korea but if I return back to Melbourne, I'm sure I want to learn piano again with Ann!
