Can't recommend MDC highly enough! An amazing dance space with classes that are interesting, fun and inclusive. Incredibly friendly and professional staff that create an atmosphere where every student - regardless of their age, ability or gender - is made to feel like an important part of this dance community.

MDC teach dance technique exceedingly well. They create productions that extend and develop the performers, and are exciting to watch. The teachers are supportive, encouraging and invoke a love of dancing in the students. What’s really amazing, though, is that MDC create a community: the students adore each other, and the older students give the young ones support, encouragement, wisdom, and something to aspire to. I highly recommend Melbourne Dance Centre.

MDC is a fantastic dance centre. From the beginning I was impressed with their ability to get the best out of each student. They are enthusiastic, inclusive and teach a high standard of dance with an emphasis on performance. By example they encourage the dancers to be their best selves and foster a sense of friendship and belonging. My daughter has now been attending for two years and it was the best move we made. Highly recommend.

This is an amazing dance studio where the kids can thrive and learn about dance and how to perform. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a skilled dancer -everyone will learn and grow under the directors and teachers at this school. Our daughter has danced here for 5 years and we couldn't be more pleased. If your kids love to dance - this is the place to go to!

Honestly, in all of the years I have been teaching, I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from a dance studio.
Booked the studio on Lygon street on Thursday for Sunday 19/01.didnt receive an email response till Friday from your office. My email on Thursday was very clear about the date, time and details of the workshop.
I was told what the hire fees would be, agreed to them and was assured that an invoice would be sent. When the invoice never came through i called the office during open hours on both Friday AND Saturday multiple times (again no answer) only to receive a response on Saturday via email, with the address of the studio and was reassured that the studio was booked and saved for my workshop on sunday.
Come around sunday.no other emails, messages or calls from the office, and so one could only assume that, if the studio sais the place is booked then.it booked right? Yet, there we were.myself and all the participants of the workshop standing outaide of the studio that I HIRED, which i was told was booked in for me, and guess what.it is LOCKED. No one inside.no code given to me.no one answering the phone. I was left looking like an idiot because the studio i hired didnt even leave the place open for us.totally forgot about us. We ended up having to do the workshop outside.thank goodness the weather was in our favor. Even had to send someone to the office in Weston street to see if anyone was around so we could get in to the studio on lygon street and no one was there either.
Long story short.very unhappy and will definitely not be recommending this place to any instructors thinking of running classes or workshops.

As a disappointed parent I can only give one star. Unclear hidden fees, management lying about class sizes, and rude front desk staff. Unhappy.

Then the “we don’t know you” response. Thanks for confirming how little attention you pay to your customers.

Dance Arts United has come a long way, as can be seen by their own venue. Melbourne Dance Center is a great place for the dancer of modern times, and offers, in my opinion, the best dance education in Melbourne. The unique and traditional dance styles come together, so you can learn ballet from experienced teachers, hip hop from the coolest dancers, or come along for DAU's specialty, modern jazz. Boys and girls will love learning to express themselves through dance.
