Meerkat Bistro reviews
18 Food is okay at best, but not worth the cost at all. There's not a lot of options. The drinks filling works part of the time. Someone in front of me only got less than half of his drink.
Inside has aircon so good for hot days.
Great for getting out of the cold. The food is not too bad. It’s right beside the merkeet enclosure so you may get a glimpse of them from time to time.
Bad service. Super duper slow service. Ordered this shashuka, worst decision of my life. It tasted like tomato purée plus egg on top. The eggs are fully cooked, not even sunny side or runny eggs yolk. The only good thing is you get to enjoy your meal with the meerkats. Disgusting food! And overpriced for its quality and value.
Not too bad, although the menu is printed too small for most people to read before they get to the counter.
Went to Werribee zoo with my husband a couple of days ago and decided to have lunch here.
We shared a beef burger and I must say that it was the most disgusting burger we have ever eaten.
The "beef" patty didn't even smell or taste like beef I can only imagine what kind of poor quality meat it was I don't even think my dog would've eaten it.
I only took one bite and felt nausea after a while.
And the worst is that we were charged $16.50 for a handful of chips plus the burger a total rip off.
Not bad considering it’s the only cafe option at the venue. I have seen other places that charge unreasonable amounts for really sub par food.
I like that the Meetkat Bistro have introduced the contactless ordering using QR code from the table. It’s both convenient and easy to use.
Not overly expensive as I expected it to be.
Food took 45 minutes to be ready.and the food is just average. Defintiely not worth the $20 price range. Definitely reccomend BYO lunch or just get hot food.
Sorry to say but your Burger is just not good enough for $20!
A small, flat basic, budget (frozen style) over-processed patty on a small bun with 'plastic cheese'. Not fresh and not half as nice as what my local greasy spoon would serve for $8.
Food was great. Ambience and cleanliness not so. Also, soft drink self serve barcode system is a wasted effort. Just byo water.
The food was nice, we had the margherita pizza and the cheese toastie with chips. We were a bit confuse at first going there. As there was a sign that said wait to be seated but there was no one there to guide us. Then people keep going in and out, so we just went in and took an empty table. Later on we saw the worker just telling people to go and find a table themselves. I think they overcharged for the soft drink and water in the glass. Its $4.50 for 1 glass of soft drink and $2.50 for a glass of water. They give you those cup with a barcode on it and you scan the barcode and then fill the cup. I thought it was unlimited refill but you can only fill it once.
Super slow service and the food is not value for money at all.
We ordered a burger that was dry.salad had no dressing. Budha bowl was a terrible combination of different things.
In all it was a pathetic experience with extremely slow service.
Not terrible, not great. Pretty standard zoo food. The pizzas are probably the best value for money. Don't bother with the cheeseburger.
Bread was stale, no salt and pepper, Food was bland; so not worth the money. Fish tasted like fish fingers, gross.
Wait for a burger for almost an hour and ignored multiple times of our requests to check.
Then found out there’s a missing order even though we asked them to check multiple times earlier.
Going to cafés with a group of 13, mostly elderly people can be hard, but yesterday's visit to the Meerkat Cafe was great. The 2 female staff were super friendly, accommodating with special requests and our order was ready in no time.
Well done ladies!
Would give zero stars if I could. Wasn't expecting much, but received even less than that. Ordered a pide (pronounced pee-dae) and received a giant burger. Tried to talk to the staff. They argued with me and told me it was a "pide" (pronounced pied). Still yet to figure out if that exists.
Eat at home before you go.
Nothing different as the food server at the fun place, expensive and not tasty food.this one pretty much the same.maybe they pay a higher rent to the landlord, god knows.
Pretty average, nothing special. Coffee was lukewarm. Food is pricey, as can be expected. Unfortunately, you cannot use a zoo membership to get a discount.
Large tables, but seating can be hard to come-by.
They seem to close at around 4pm, so prepair to be thrown out before the zoo actually closes for the day.
One extra star for the fact you can see the meerkats whilst you eat!
