Meeniyan Motel reviews
30 Absolutely love this motel!
In beautiful picturesque Meeniyan, the owners are the most lovely welcoming hosts, room was awesome!
Right next door to the pub which was also awesome!
Will be coming back as often as i can
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Friendly service, comfortable bed, clean, fresh smelling room with beautiful garden and trees outside window and large parking space right outside each room. Great location a short walk to the Meeniyan Hotel and cafes for great food.
Loved my stay here! The perfect little country getaway. Mel at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay special. 5 stars
Great little place in central,
Next door to the pub just perfect for that extra glass of Beer
The motel is in a great location to explore the south Gippsland area, the rooms and bathroom are spacious and well equipped. Appreciated the small touches that were made. A big benefit of staying in a rural motel like this is how down to earth and helpful the owners can be, Matt the owner sprung to our aid when we had car issues on Easter Monday! Something you won't get with chains motels or airbnbs!
Greeted by friendly and very helpful new owners to a lovely clean country motel in such a beautiful little town and huge bonus of the Pub right next door so no need to be worried about. 05. Room was clean and neat with different hardness of pillows which was a nice touch. Plenty of cafes and eating venues in town and pub meals were great. The Motel was so central to so many local attractions, ie: Venus Bay, Fish Creek's iconic pub and the quaint town of Foster. A must visit to Tidal River in Wilsons Prom which is just a short enthralling drive away. Such a spectacular part of Victoria with so much more to see so we will be back again and staying in Meeniyan once more. Booking direct with the Motel was the best option for us.
First off, this motel is under new management and they really make an effort to ensure everything's clean. Was super impressed with the customer service as they ensured we had everything we needed. Locations great and it has great gift shops/parks around. You can easily drive down to Wilson's prom and head back for a relaxing stay at the motel. The outdoor bbq area was clean and had all the tools required. Would visit again:)
New owners were very welcoming. Clean, affordable and in a good location with shops all within a short distance.
Very friendly service, we got a spacious room with a last minute booking at a good price. Perfect gateway to Wilsons Prom, may come back for the Rail Trail as well.
Five stars! Everyone reading these reviews needs to know that new owners took over a month ago and that all the previous negative reviews should be disregarded. We stayed last night and could not be happier. I booked before reading some of these reviews and thank goodness! The new owners were very helpful throughout the booking process which included me ringing several times to ask questions, they were helpful and responsive. When we arrived, the room was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. Bathroom was very clean and unexpectedly spacious, much bigger than a standard motel bathroom. Shower was hot with good water pressure and I really appreciated the nice toiletries provided (for a touch of luxury above what I expect from a country motel) PLUS the option of the shower dispenser for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel which I really appreciate from a sustainability perspective, so much waste otherwise from disposable single use toiletries. Beds were very clean and very comfortable, I slept SO well and was not at all disturbed by the road noise or pub next door, even though it was Friday night. So many nice touches, crockery provided at reception, everything you need in the room, outdoor garden and BBQ area, table and chairs in the room with fresh flowers! And outdoor table and chairs too. I also really liked the effective reverse cycle air con /heater in the room which worked perfectly, and the hard copy folder of information on the motel and the region. Thanks meeniyan motel! Bargain price for a brilliant stay. Give this place a chance, they deserve it, and you won't be disappointed!
The room was good, clean with a small but well equipped kitchen. The new owners are lovely and helpful and the place is clearly in good hands. The bikes were a little worse for wear but free to use for guests so can’t complain! Thanks for a pleasant stay.
Comfortable rooms, great shower and amazing area of lawn and garden to enjoy just outside my room … thank you to the new owners for making me feel so welcome … with the added bonus being located in such a lovely town - will definitely be back
The room stunk of cigarettes and stale dog. The shower was black and dirty. The drains were clogged and water was backing up in the shower drain. The room needed a good clean. Dust on surfaces. Grounds were poorly maintained. Leaves and debris around the entrance to our room.
If we had anywhere else we could have stayed we would have left.
Main thing is the room was musty and stunk. No pride in the place.
Lovely clean comfortable room and friendly helpful staff
Beautiful little town well worth a walk around with great little pub right next door to the motel
Pub serves great food and has a good atmosphere
Both motel and pub are pet friendly which is a huge bonus for many travellers
I'm unsure of what the rooms look like inside but the grounds and gardens require work, unfortunately it's in the public eye, so everyone notices it.
Great motel, nice to soak in a jacuzzi after a long day playing in the dirt.
Pub next door does great meals.
Easy truck parking, out front.
As I approached the reception, I was greeted with a cat run. Not that it was being used. The cats were just roaming around.
As a person with a cat allergy- I had to send my friend inside the reception.
He came out with his eyes watering and disgusted at the smoke smell and the hoarding of junk all over the place.
The sheets were old, who knows how long since the blankets had been washed.
The towels are dark grey, which does not inspire cleanliness.
Although there was a toaster and microwave- no plates or silverware.
If the curtains saw any water they would probably fall apart.
Everything was just not nice - we just wanted to leave but we were on bikes and it was a long weekend.
So stuck there for two nights in a dirty horrendous, cat ridden motel.
I will be calling the council.
Last minute booking Sunday night was met with a friendly voice on the end of the phone; happy to give directions to an exhausted Mum. Easy check in; clean room; all the relevant information we could need about where we could eat etc, and care to check how we went as we checked out. It’s been a terrible time for businesses like these through covid; full points for being able to keep going and for your caring attitude. Long hours for you and high stress I know. Those giving one star reviews sound me like over entitled whingers; we certainly have no complaints
A real old school motel excellent value for money in this dear little Victorian town of 400 souls.
The owner is Aware of EVs and offers 3 pin pug overnight charging an no charge even thou I offered to pay.
Try to support these small country businesses, we'll be much the poorer when they are gone
Convenient location, good value for money considering prices around. Few things that can be improved: smell of apartments and maintenance/repair of some items
