Beautiful environment with a laid back teacher that creates a nice balance between the intense schedule of meditation and yoga. I’ll definitely be coming back this year. Thanks Aruna.

I would highly recommend the six day retreat, it completely exceeded my expectations! Beautifully guided by Aruna, the perfect balance of wisdom, fluidity and humour. Thank you!

I’ve been to many retreats and must say that the 6day silent retreat I attended with Aruna Giri was fantastic!

Aruna provides attendees (both new and experienced meditators) with the ideal balance of simple instruction and ample practice in a well-resourced facility surrounded by stunning nature. Oh and the vegetarian meals are delicious!

What an amazing experience! My first time at a meditation retreat, I chose to fully immerse myself into a 6 day silent retreat. I have laughed, I have cried - all in a fully safe and nuturing environment. Knowing very little about what to expect I was guided by Aruna's gentle teachings as well as some of the other more experienced group members. Meditation, yoga, healthy eating, private room and the scenic great outdoors (with stunning wildlife) were the backdrop to this opportunity to look inward and reflect. I have emerged not only feeling incredibly refreshed and refocused, but I also now have new 'tools for my tool kit' to carry forward to be able to continue my personal inquiry and mindfulness. I will definitely be doing this again with Aruna as my first time experience was full of eye opening revelations. Thank you so much for this very special opportunity, I will be spreading the word so others too may also open their hearts and minds.

I just completed a six day silent retreat with Aruna at Maitripa centre. It was a lovely experience. Aruna was a really great facilitator. He has many years of experience in meditation and yoga both here and in India, so I felt like I learned a lot. He has a lovely manner and managed to make it a lot of fun at times. He also managed to create a lovely atmosphere so that by the end of the retreat we all felt very connected and like we knew each other even though we had never spoken!
I liked the centre as well which is located in quite a secluded cul de sac so you feel like you are in the country; these beautiful surroundings are quite conducive to the process as well. Facilities are basic but really clean and pleasant. The yoga room has a lovely vista out onto the trees.
I would definitely recommend attending a retreat with Aruna.

The retreat was run extremely well, and the daily schedule was simple, achievable and yet gave a remarkable result. I’ve never experienced such a profound connection to myself and I will be doing this every year until Aruna decides to retire!
Thankyou for your gentle wisdom and your wonderfully bright sense of humour.
My morning yoga sessions will be greatly missed. Thankyou for dedicating yourself to being such a brilliant teacher, it was such a life changing week for me. Bless you Aruna. See you next year!

I did the 6 day silent retreat and it was wonderful. The whole experience allowed me to drop deeper into my meditation practice and still my mind - setting me up perfectly for the new year. The sessions were just the right mix of meditation, yoga, spiritual talks and integration time. The private rooms are simple and adequate and the nourishing, vegetarian food was simply a delight. Thanks Aruna for leading the retreat with grace and humour. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for having been able to have this space.

Not a good experience when dealing with Aruna, now very glad we did not attend the retreat, although Aruna kept ALL of our money. Lesson learnt.

Testimonials from website:

Aruna Giri's short retreats have become essential time-outs in my hectic life, helping me to regularly rejuvenate and find calmness in the middle of even stressful situations. Aruna's approach is refreshingly simple and focuses on the core of meditation - sitting quietly in beautiful surroundings.

Thank-you Aruna, for your teaching and instruction this weekend. Your words and presence has brought a great deal of healing and nourishment to this soul. I feel so blessed to have experienced so much love, acceptance and support by the group and by the Maitripa space and surrounds.

I find myself deeply humbled by the poetic simplicity of how Stillness gives way to direct perception and the poignancy of how glimpses and insights come without the need for the minds analytical churning.

As I observed the usual projections, I found they could not manifest to their full potential, rather than take pleasure from this relief, I love how this lends itself to a gentler and more compassionate way of seeing.

Rob's words as we sat in the closing circle really resonated with me, that even if the outer self, what we show to the world crumbles, what lies beneath is never changing and constant. This really encapsulates the sense of Being I got to connect with over the weekend. I feel tender as i open, yet I'm lighter.

With sincere and deep-felt gratitude,
Ana
