Medifirst Family Clinic

This is the second time that my partner has been seriously humiliated by the receptionist’s interrogation of her gender. I can’t believe this clinic is in Australia which accepts and respects diversity. I would like to give zero star if I could. The high rating is very deceptive.

Dr Lionel is brilliant for my kids. He's very attentive, engaging, caring and knowledgeable.
I have seen Dr Maya on a few occasions and am very happy with her professionalism and expertise.
Would highly recommend Medifirst as they are truly a family clinic. The waiting rooms are inviting and always clean.

Recently changed policy from bulk billing to private billing but info not updated online and their sign outside still says bulk billing in big writing. Very misleading and waste of everyone’s time. Receptionist was rude and unprofessional. Worst GP experience.

EDIT 1/3/2022: I just came across this somewhat pathetic response and find it hilarious. You state my son has been to your practice? I didn’t have a son when this review was made back in 2018 haha. Just because a boy with the same last name has been to your practice you assume that’s my son? Goes to show how “professional” this place is.

Came in to check if my son's foot still had glass in it and Dr Maya also gave him a full check and made sure he was up to date with shots and asked if we knew about the meningococcal B vaccine. She's always so thorough makes sure she checks on the whole family.

We are very impressed with Dr Lionel Wu’s experience and knowledge. My daughter has been suffering tummy pain for months and yet our previous GP couldn’t find the root cause. We visited Dr Wu on Monday 4/10/21 for the very first time, took an ultrasound scan on 5/10/21 and made another appointment on 6/10/21 with Dr Wu and he pinpointed what the root cause was. Very efficient and professional. He is also very gentle and caring. Couldn’t recommend highly enough and I am glad we have found our new GP! Thank you Dr Wu!

I was lucky enough to find Dr Lionel Wu about 10 yrs ago. His level of care, empathy and patient support goes above and beyond. I have always felt listened to and supported in all medical areas. Truly a one of a kind GP. Thankyou for all you help over the years, it will be challenging to find a GP in London that matches your professionalism and patient rapport.and just someone to have a laugh with when you are feeling rotten! I previously had a complaint that was addressed promptly even when I was not expecting anything to be done about it. Dr. Wu and his team has handled the issue well under his leadership. I am glad that I had been able to get my point across.

I went here to get my teeth X-ray, for my dentist. The service here was great, there wasn't much of a wait. The doctor was good and quite funny. I would recommend this place.

Lional has been our family doctor for nearly 10yrs. We are so happy we found him. He's stuck with us for life now.
We've even seen Dr Maya when we cant get Lional and she is just as good!
They have such a warm, caring nature and just want to help you! They are also great with kids too.
Reception and nurses are also friendly and so caring.

Dr Lionel Wu has been our family GP for nearly 10 years. He is undoubtedly the best GP I have had - smart, calm, caring and honest. Great with my young kids and patient with us:) The team at Medifirst are great and I highly recommend the practice

I have been coming here since it opened a few years ago.
The Dr. Lionel is knowledgeable and all the staff are very friendly. I am glad I have now found my family doctor.

Warm and responsible doctors as well as other clinic staff, comprehensive health service covers a lot of areas more than just an average GP clinic.

This clinic is very good and reliable. They also prioritise the patients. Please note that it is for kids. Adult does not bulk bill.

So this review isn't aimed at the clinic but at Dr Maya. I think she is a very unprofessional doctor who seemed friendly enough but in the two years of me seeing her, never cared to find out more about me and only cared enough to follow the protocols for prescribing me with medication. I suffered from recurrent UTIs and Dr Maya prescribed me with cephalexin almost every single time, This is an antibiotic I now know is well-known to cause the nasty C.difficile infection, which I did suffer from eventually and had to be hospitalised.

She was also very against the idea of prescribing me Xanax and eventually made me go back to my psychiatrist for an evaluation that caused me to be taken off the medication. As a result, I would vomit almost every single evening - this went on for a whole year and Dr Maya literally just shrugged it off and suggested for me to see a GI doctor. I came back to my home country and did indeed see one but he couldn't find anything physically wrong with my GI tract, and a Xanax script from my psychiatrist solved my constant vomiting issues almost immediately. I consider this to be a massive negligence on her part to allow me to continuously suffer like that.

She also seemed to be very inexperienced with Pap smears. I admittedly have a cervix that isn't just hanging out right there, but no other doctor has ever had to fish around for it like she did. If you just have a pink eye, sure, see her. Anything else, you should just see another doctor. Thank you for the scripts, Dr Maya, but no.

The best practice I've ever visited. Dr Lionel helped my family so many times that we are very thankful. My son wants to visit only Dr Lionel. Professional, knowledgeable, quick and effective. All doctors are good. Thank you

Dr Lionel Wu is the best doctor we have ever met, care about you with his professional experiences from his heart. Highly recommended.

The most honest and family friendly GP in this area, most of the clinics we go to the doctors would never listen to the patients, they o lu gove their opinions on what the issue is but they never take their time to understand what the patient is feeling, where MediFirst the doctors here go out of their way to not just check on you but they do beyond what is asked, we where thoroughly looked after with my wifes pregnancy and all vaccines and other medical attentions were given unlike the other 2 clinics that we use to go to who just brushed us off and we could only ask 1 question,

My experience with Medfirst Family Clinic was amazing. Their service was amazing, always available for questions and treated me like I was a part of a family.
