I had issues in the beginning with this organisation but, with lots of communication, things are going great. There have been many changes within the organisation and things are definitely improving, I am very happy with the service I’m now receiving. Worth giving them a go and working with them to get the supports you need in place, you just need to be patient and communicate with them.

Dreadful. First, they ‘lost’ my intake form for 6 weeks and kept telling me it was in the system. When I finally asked someone to check, they said that the intake worker hadn’t filed the correct form and that they would rectify me and ring me back.

They didn’t call back (they never do!), so I finally rang back and got my first clean allocated. In 6 months I had a total of FOUR cleans. Every fortnight it was the same story, them ringing at 9.30am to say that the cleaner had ‘called in sick’.

Either they employ staff who are sick 80% of the time or they are lying and they just don’t have the staff. Yes, Covid is a big issue, but why take on new clients like me when you can’t even meet the needs of the ones you have? Just say you can’t take on new clients, but no, they don’t do this, they take on clients and then give them appalling support.

At one stage, I hadn’t had my bed linen changed for six weeks. I told the MECWA care staff member when she rang yet again to say the cleaner ‘was sick’ and her answer was to suggest that I get a friend or family member to do it!

Just dreadful.

On advice from various supports I applied for a HACC assessment and was approved. This was outsourced to Mecwacare Ballarat to service. In 3 - 4 months I have had 2 cleaners sent out. This is shocking given I have been assessed as requiring assistance fortnightly. I’m pretty much back at point 1 and my health is going backwards. Very disappointing service.

From my first conversation with Chrissie, to the home-help tasks performed by Wondi (spelling?), my experience with Mecwacare Ballarat has been positive, with friendly & efficient staff doing a top job. Thanks to Mikayla, too, for her politeness.

I think the Ballarat division of mecwecare deliver outstanding customer service and they are so polite and easy to deal with

When a client cancels we still get charged fair enough But when no one turns up we're still expected to pay and no ph call unless the client rings, no good enough. I HAVE PERSONALLY worked in this field off work both in community and in the office l know how it works, lm not impressed with the phone manner particular from the young person who answers the calls l usually never complain but when l do lve had it

Your branch in Ballarat has to have the worst organisation and lest ethical management staff. Highly recommend you do a thorough investigation. I have heard many staff complaining about a certain staff member stating that if she does not like you, you will not receive shift.
