Mckinly Eatery is a friendly, neighbourhood cafe located on Belmore Road in Balwyn. They offer creative brunch dishes and coffee the @goodfoodguide once even named 1 of the 5 best in Victoria. The kitchen is headed by chef and proud owner Kenneth.

Coffee is by @allpress and chai @pranachai. We tried a few of their best sellers, our favourite being the Cheesesteak Toastie, which featured sous-vide beef, green sauce and American smoked cheese. The beef itself could have been more flavourful, but all together it worked. It is huge, this and a bowl of fries could tie two people over.

The Belly Benny is another one of their most popular dishes, with a cheese hollandaise, chilli oil and glazed pork belly. The pork was super tasty, charred and on the fatty side, the cheese hollandaise was nice on its own but I didn’t enjoy the pairing. Eggs were perfectly poached. The Caprese Bagel was a reliable choice, I just craved something fresh as the basil was in the form of pesto.

The venue is a cute, welcoming space, the branding is on point. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating. A great option for the area, which has only been open for 1.5 years, only to improve further with time.

“The Breakfast Club” runs 7: 30-10am Monday-Friday which can get you $11 Egg and Bacon on Toast.

Had brunch there with mum today, and omg. I can't believe we only found this gem today!
We shared two toasties: the Steakcheese and Funghi Truffle (vegan), and both toasties absolutely sent our tastebuds to heaven. Sadly, we couldn't finish everything, so we brought our leftovers home instead
ALSO, the people working here are super sweet and bright, and the entire cafe's atmosphere was so wholesome (cute decorations, posters, and bossa nova/jazz music)

Great cafe with a welcoming atmosphere. Coffee is very good and the food is supurb. Very different brunch menu and will definitely come back for more.

Been to this cafe last year, and revisited again recently, and had a conversation with the barista and found out they have recently changed their coffee beans to another company. Amazing how great is the coffee quality it is now!

Both me and my partner are blown away, we live in next suburb, but this is definitely our weekend coffee place.

I don't normally have the habit of leaving reviews to any business but this cafe has the top notch food, coffee and service. The barista name Wing, she is super friendly. She is passionate with her job.a Thumbs up for this friendly lady.

This cafe is on a smaller scale, wait time might be longer than the other places. But it's definitely worth the wait.

Came here for lunch many many times, i'm confident to say it is the best cafe in this area! It has cozy interiors, high standard food, cute chef and lovely staff.

My partner and I come here frequently on the way to the dog park for takeaway coffees. We love the coffee and the friendly staff are always warm and inviting. Weekend mornings can very busy, however, the staff always handle it with a smile. We never have to wait long for coffee due to amazingly efficient baristas. Best coffee in Balwyn North!

This cafe is amazing. The brunch are really really really delicious. The price are fair. The amount of food is good. The employees and boss are super kind and nice.

I can’t believe a place as amazing as McKinly’s has opened up in our local area! No longer do I have to travel out into the city for Melbourne’s best brunch and toasties. The poke bowl was stunning, and the cheesesteak toastie was like nothing I’ve ever tasted before, incredible! The coffee is also very good here.

Amazing staff, Ken is such a delight and will go above and beyond for all of his customers. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Such a beautiful breakfast, the pesto on the crushed avo was so tasty and bread was delicious. Also came here for amazing toasties, coffee is really nice too. Great local cafe.

Wonderful food and coffee and the staff are fantastic. I had the summer harvest bowl and an oat flat white, both were perfect. A new local favourite, will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu

I have been to McKinly twice now since opening, what a great feed! The sandwiches are amazing, I’ve ordered the cheesesteak toastie twice! I can’t get enough! They also have the best Gluten Free bread in Melbourne definitely put it on your list of places to try! It’s our go to in the area now! Great work guys

We had the cheesesteak, funghi truffle & carne asada sandwiches which were all delicious & super full of flavour - definitely recommend all three!
The owner/chef was also very friendly & came out of the kitchen to have a chat with us at the end.

I had an amazing breakfast at McKinly - the avocado on toast was perfection. Excellent staff. Highly recommend popping in.
