MAYFLOWER Brighton is a very nice place to work. Friendly staff and supportive management. Would recommend MAYFLOWER Brighton to work and to live as an elderly as it is a caring environment over there.

I wasn't going to write this but after the last 3 years of visiting my mother at this establishment and having one of our irreplaceable family paintings go missing from my mother's room and no follow up taken by the rude manager Rumesh I decided to write this review. Some of the reception staff have shown rudeness too! I think people should be aware of the lack of care taken by this establishement when it comes to your loved ones, The residents are left to sit there in chairs all day if they can't walk! I wouldn't treat an animal as badly as the way the staff treated my mother! She burnt her feet on the heater getting out of her bed to try and get to the toilet and when the nurse finally came in she yelled at my lovely mother for screaming! Disgraceful!

Unfortunately I am unable to email but I am quite concerned about the lack of response you have made here! My brother doesn't care about the painting so it has NOTHING to do with him! You have also shown no remorse in your response to me about my mpther's severe injury she suffered whilst a resident at Mayflower! I could put a lovely photo of this injury up here! No apology ever!

Not impressed with mayflower Brighton at all!
My father spent about 6 months in there with staff shortages it left my incontinent father in his mess alot with a nasty sore on his bottom and he was very distressed.
We were disappointed in that time his clothing were never labelled even tho they consistently said they would label Dads belongings.
We ended up moving Dad and the first day in the new place his clothing were labeled
Dads clothing went missing all the time in other residents cupboards so he stayed in smelly urine stained clothes for another day
You could smell the urine from the other end of the corridor.
We would clean the floor and toilet our selves
Dads good pillow went missing too and even with communication with the manager we never got the expensive pillow back or any more communication after that day. The manager wanted a receipt to prove it was a $200 Dunlop pillow but it was for last Xmas and I don’t have the receipt
Mayflower had a list of all Dads property so should have the pillow on that list that went missing
Big disappointment at mayflower Brighton and world never recommend to anyone I know! EDITED!
VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU ANSWERED THIS REVIEW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU SAVE FIX THE PROBLEM
BUT!
You have blocked me to email and continue the conversation and blocked my number to call Mayflower Brighton!
I personally labelled all my Dads clothing with a permanent laundry marker after a few weeks. As you did not!
And you never replaced dads good Dunlop pillow that went missing like his clothing went missing!
You have more 1 star reviews I see and that speaks for itself!

Thank you Mayflower for being so kind and caring to my mum, who recently entered your facility in Brighton. You have treated mum with so much kindness and respect and have made her transition from a very difficult situation as easy as possible.

Having had some experience with other aged care centres I cannot recommend Mayflower enough. The staff are so kind and gentle with our Mum. Mayflower has a true sense of community and it shows in the care they provide.

Worked at the Rumblings cafe back in the summer 2018 and was the best experience ever. Still miss Patsy and Betty!

Mayflower Aged Care Facility from what I've seen online is an exceptional place where staff are extraordinary and really care for their residents. It's clean, spacious and peaceful place. The residents are enjoying living in their home.

I've had a few family members reside here and it's always been great. Lovely sense of community and caring staff. The addition of Bossy Boots cafe has been a welcome bonus.

Mum had a unit in the independent living section for the last two years. The unit was modern and bright, with huge windows overlooking garden. She made many friends, enjoyed a nightly informal happy hour and loved daily visits to the cafe which had delicious food.
Mum’s time in Mayflower gave her a new lease on life. We were very glad that she went there.

Both my husband and I can't thank enough all managers, nurses, carers and everyone contributing at Mayflower for the quility service provided to our mums. From the day one all our hopes and expectations have been consistently met and exceeded. This gives us a great deal of comfort knowing that our love ones are in good, caring and dedicated hands.
Please keep up doing great job and many thanks to all of you from Tanya and Valeri.

Very disappointed as I had heard such good things and our tour was wonderful. Some friendly staff but my mother has had a terrible respite experience from day one. Given a room that was not cleaned properly (if at all), a recliner that was stained and smelled of urine, promised activities in line with her higher cognitive abilities but not delivered and most frighteningly; taken on a bus activity when she should have been monitored by a nurse as she had, had a mini stroke the day before. When they returned she was left to get her way back to her room, she had had another TIA on the bus (but no-one realized) She was confused and scared. Luckily it resolved itself and she was able to call me to go up and help her. She leaves today and we definitely wouldn’t consider here for a permanent placement.

Update: I sent through an email to Maria after her post (May 8) and am still waiting for any contact to discuss things further (Now May 18) as she suggested. Please think very carefully before sending your loved ones here.

May 28 - Still no response?

Grandpa's settled in really well here. It's good to see him happy and so well care for. It's taken a lot of worry away from mum.

My mother was incontinent and 3 pads insufficient meant she had to buy her own extra. Lack of staff at night. She was left on the toilet over a hour until midnight, she'd been forgotten. The new independent living accomodation afforded by needy patients. Staff terribly caring but forced to follow policy.
Bright and shiny doesn't mean best.

Have worked for the organisation for 14 years, both as a Carer and now within admissions. Really enjoy the friendly staff, caring atmosphere and most of all the wonderful residents and families that make Mayflower what it is.

Terrible.the management will stop talking to you if you raise complaints.understaffed - care more about budget than people in their care.mum was left in urine soaked bed, contracted U. T. I.that went undiagnosed for ages and was being hit by other residents - no help from management at all.bad place for you beloved mum or dad!
