Absolutely beautiful food of high quality ingredients. Will visit every time I’m in Altona. Highly recommended!

Really small (and empty) panino, for 14/19 dollars you can have much better (size and quality) food like salt and pepper for example, service was ok but the mortadella e provolone was empty and pretty sure wasn't provolone.

Visited today at about 1pm and ordered 'The Italian' Panini and I really wanted to love it but unfortunately all i could taste was the ciabatta bread because there was barely any filling. It was definitely overpriced for what it was, i feel like i paid $15 for just bread. Sorry Matteo's deli but I'm just being honest and I was pretty disappointed. I'm giving two stars for freshness of the ciabatta.
Update: Just to clarify the Ciabatta was very fresh, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star. The lack of filling/ingredients leading to a lack of taste is why I was overall disappointed in my experience.

Today we had the best samwiches EVER! Absolutely divine little deli with delicious and fresh foods! Staff were very friendly and recommended particular breads for particular samwitches. I had 'The Real Italian' with Ciabatta bread (was vegetarian) and the flavours were just unreal! Samwiches ranged from $13 - $16. Cannolis were available here additionally and they were delightful. There is seating outside the deli which is lovely on a sunny day. Will definitely return!

Tasty food! And lovely staff, my favourite coffee on Pier Street, too. Opposite the park, so perfect for a summers day lunch!

Ordered via Uber Eats for the first time and the Prosciutto Panini was super tasty and fresh!

Most weekends we will get a take away coffee, and occasionally we will get paninis and they are always so fresh and yummy (the best paninis really).

Just moved to altona and decided to check out the food scene down on pier street, first stop was matteo's, wow such a beautiful deli, my order did not dissapoint at all, it was such a fresh sandwich and it was just what i needed to start my day, my heart was filled and my stomach too, will always be coming back!

This is often my 'go to' when wanting something good for lunch.

Unfortunately I’ve been here on numerous occasions and they just don’t seem the have much fast pace in their service. I’ve wait over 20 minutes for a coffee to which I could see other costumers who ordered after me receiving their coffees.
The price is quite high for a very small and very ordinary coffee. I ordered some of their ‘fresh’ bakery items which where definitely not fresh and very very stale cannolis!
After numerous attempts here I can’t say I enjoy the products or the sometimes rude attitude from the male barista either. It’s a no from me

I have started visiting Matteo's to buy cold cuts and sandwiches. The cold cuts are sliced fresh and layered nicely so they don't stick together, and the sandwiches are filled generously with meat and absolutely delicious! I look forward to regularly visiting Matteo's Deli from now on.

I've become a regular over the last year. Great coffee, great sandwiches and all the funky Maltese ingredients I grew up eating on the shelves.
Got a grazing platter for Xmas day with my partner, super generous portion and went over a treat.

Went here knowing the panini would be fresh, it's unfortunate that the 2 women behind the deli saw a lot of people waiting and disappeared. Leaving the one girl behind the coffee machine to do it all. Extremely slow service for this reason.

Great sammiches, so much choice it can be a little daunting but staff are happy to give suggestions if you struggle with basic decisions like I do. Very friendly, great atmosphere!
