Masti-Indian Restaurant Fitzroy

Food was really good, specially the cauliflower manchurian. Ordered goat and veg biryani both of them are outstanding. Customer sevice provided by Aman was quick and phenomenal. Overall i am happy with the food and services. Kadai paneer was perfectly cooked.

We had my daughter's graduation celebration dinner here the other night. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful. A great dining experience, we will definitely go back and recommend the restaurant to friends.

We were there for my daughter's 17th birthday dinner with family.we ordered vegetarian curry.out of overconfidence the lady who took our order didn't write our order.she sent chicken curry.the person who served said its veg paneer curry and we started taking our first bite trusting everyone there.we realised it's chicken.we complained to the lady who took our order.in reply she said it's ok I will change but not even sorry.how can you Ignore the fact that you served chicken to strictly veg family.and we don't expect any apology.sorry but it's morally wrong.

Food was great, very tasty but the service left a lot to be desired. Cutlery was wet when placed on the table, drinks were very slow to be served. Wait staff were very up close and personal while at the table including leaning across the (round, central) table frequently. They were also forgetful and seemingly not very knowledgeable about the food.

Great atmosphere, friendly service. The food was good, some dishes felt a but rushed such as the aloo ghobi and okra. The fish curry was delicious. Most of the cocktails were delicious bar one.

Great food! We were a big group and they did well. It was a bit disappointing as the person serving did not know about our naan and we ended up order 5 extras and paid for it as we never complained. Overall good experience.

Great food. The only thing that could improve is the atmosphere. It was very cold inside and the tables were too small for a group. The vibe in general was a bit lacking and lack of ‘cosiness’.

Went there tonight and the restaurant really stank. A very bad smell was in the whole of the restaurant. The smell got worse as one approached the toilets. The food was okay but expensive.

Food and drinks were good especially the okra curry (Bhindi Do Pyaza). We had everything vegan and it was satisfying for a meat eater like myself.

However, the service needs to be improved, a lot. We came in on a cold evening. Despite that both aircons were working, it showed on the aircon that the room temperature was only 11 degrees. We asked the waitress if she can bring up the temperature and she said there's nothing she can do and that we feel cold just because we just came in from outside. We are shocked! Is 11 degrees indoor considered warm? We were also sat at the table right next to the door even though all other 4-seat tables were empty. Later on we got moved to a table in the middle upon request but the room didn't get any warmer. None of us took off our coats during the 2-hour dinner and none of other customers did either. It was FREEZING in the restaurant! I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there for a meal in winter unless they can endure the cold?

Tried to order takeaway a week back and arrived at 8.30 only to be told kitchen had already closed. Went today to order again. Ordered rice and was supposed to get discount but no discount no rice. Not worth $90. After four attempts this is my last. I was not offered a refund I was asked to return to collect the rice by which time I had arrived home and the rest of the food would have been cold. If 90 is the price after the discount then it’s also very overpriced.

Came here with a couple of friends. Good vibe as we arrived (late) and were guided to the bar so they could prep our table. One waitress said our table was ready and once we got to the table the other waitress seemed to think it was for another group, which ended up being incorrect. That was the only part of the night which didn't go well and was awkward, but from then on, no problems. Food was great and the drinks also very good. Food arrived promptly and tasted as good as it looked!
Very happy with our outing. Highly recommend!

Our Sunday dinner was at the gorgeous Indian restaurant- MASTI Fitzroy. The venue is spacious with an indoor and outdoor dining area. The decor is absolutely stunning. Their menu features a wide variety of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes along with cold and hot beverages. We enjoyed their starters, biryani, curries and dessert. The presentation, the taste and flavor of each and every dish was top notch. Highly recommended to everyone looking for BEST INDIAN FOOD in Melbourne.

Stunning venue and delicious food but frankly if I am paying $7 per samosa I expect my waitress knows what naan bread is. Admittedly she was new but surely the staff training should cover basics of the cuisine and we shouldn’t have to spend 15 minutes to point to the dishes on the menu as we order and repeat the quantities which kept getting confused (not to mention the rice that never turned up).

Something didn’t quite agree with a couple of us either as we didn’t feel overly well later that night (perhaps spice level)
I will say we very much enjoyed all the food as we were eating it and it was beautifully presented but overall the service was definitely a letdown

Masti is an absolutely underrated gem! Consistently good food and service with a great fit out as well. We got the Cauliflower Manchurian, Onion Bhaji and Samosa and all were stand outs - alongside the Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala

Went to masti for a dinner last night
To start off the ambience and lighting was very mellow and nice I loved the vibe. The portions were really small but still adequate since it’s not a fine dine restaurant like Elchi which is a parent restaurant of masti i expected more but the pricing was more than fair but that being said the taste was amazing. The toilets were not very clean, that could be improved

Really delicious freshly prepared food, excellent service and lovely space to sit in and relax. Seating is spacious and we will definitely be back for more amazing dishes like the fish curry!

I had very high expectations from Masti. The booking experience was easy online. The restaurant was cold, which was a challenge for one of the diners. The biggest challenge was the service. Our server although very pleasant was not familiar with the menu or the cuisine. I am diabetic and asked for a salty lassi and was informed that it could not be provided as there was no mention f it on the menu. I found this to be unreasonable. Similarly any questions related to the menu and we were directed back to the menu available online. The food was delicious and made up for a terrible serve staff. Will likely not be back.

We ordered Kadhayi paneer and butter chicken. Surprisingly, Kadhayi paneer was more delicious, tandoori rotis were also good. Overall, food was nice in reasonable price with beautiful ambience.

I would never recommend MASTI RESTAURANT. It was a very bad experience at MASTI. Poor quality or a low standard food. I really don't like to use such words for food but the Currys were tasteless and very overpriced. I ordered for a fish curry, and 2 different type of chicken currys all taste the same, very obvious that they use 1 base grave for all dishes

Ordered for lacha paratha, it was totally burned

And the food quality and quantity absolutely do not justify the rates, very very overpriced.

I WILL NEVEREVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT.
