Mascalzone reviews
57This has the best pizza and pasta in the west, the dough is like it’s made by the pizza gods themselves and traditional ingredients are of the highest quality
Amazing food, best pizza ever and gnocchi is so soft, wanted to order another one but we were full.dessert is must to try.beautiful place with wonderful and welcoming staff. The advantage is it’s close to the beach and park for the kids. Will be back soon again. Definitely recommended.
The young man who served us is exemplary. How hospitality should be. The ragu felt like it was made by nonna and the pizza was cooked to perfection. Will keep going back.
Great Italian restaurant with an excellent menu and very nice staff. The food is amazing, with very flavorful ingredients that deliver mouthwatering dishes.
A great place woth great food the staff are friendly and energetic even with the hectic environment
Very beautiful place to eat, fantastic food that feels authentic and made with care.
Will be coming back!
What can I say, everything was good, yesterday I went with my partner for Valentine's Day and I didn't even have a book but the ladies in charge were so kind with me and found a table even if they were too busy. The Lamb Shank and the Sea Food with the garlic bread were amazing, we'll back for sure. Thank you.
Staff were disorganised and highly reliant on Uber eats- all people who were eating in had to wait 2 hours for pizza or pasta. They also forgot to put our mains through and only when we asked 1.5 hours in, they said sorry the kitchen was busy then go to the screen and enter our order in.
Really a shame as the food was ok but the service really let it down.
Just a painful experience so don’t recommend.
Btw if your the restaurant and want to contact me don’t bother as you had your chance to be transparent when we asked.
Been here couple of times.food is just amazing! No BS, real, good, food! Yum! Will be back many many times! Ps. No time to even take photos
A very disappointed food, the quality very poor, the pizza was full of semolina, impossible to finish it. The rocket from the the prosuitto was black and the pumpkin pure from the scallops was bitter (old food) + scallops were cold from the fridge. Never going back.
I had a mixed experience with Mascalzone.
The pro: I really loved my Zucchini chips and lamb Ragu.
Tiramisu was a die for. It was perfect and not over powering.
The Con: I ordered chicken Risotto which was let down as it wasn't creamy. There were less seasoning.
Both my entrees and main was served together. By the time I finished my entrees, my pasta and Risotto was bit cold.
Focaccia Agliata is to die for! Great coffee. Been here twice and definitely will remain a regular. Friendly European vibe and the most authentic Italian pizza I've had so far.
UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER.
STILL AMAZING!
Had a lunch booking for 1.30pm Saturday, as we were eating our meals the waitress put our bill on the table and took the food we were still eating and told us that they were closing in 5 minutes and had to leave! No pre warning just removed all food from the table! Will never go back with such rude staff, which is unfortunate because the food was great.
We were at the Tuesday Parma nights and the food was delicious enough. Everytime I walked past on Friday and Saturday evenings the place is always packed so it must be good but definitely will try it again!
Best place for dine in in Williamstown, best place known for traditional Italian food.
Been there last night for dinner, their food and service is always good.
Would highly recommend this place and we will continue to visit them again and again.
The restaurant doesn’t have flashy furniture or lighting, it’s just warm and welcoming. The food is authentic Italian, really delicious. It’s good value for money. It’s not a huge place but it has a nice atmosphere, definitely no microwaved meals coming out of that kitchen. Strongly suggest you give it a go.
Loved our dinner tonight at Mascalzone. We ordered Margherita Pizza and Risotto Al Funghi along with red wines. Nothing beats the smell of a wood fired pizza!
Gluten-free review:
A little surprised they did not let me sit inside… there was only one table that had people at it, and nothing appeared reserved. Even by the time I had finished my meal the restaurant was only 1/2 full.
The muscles were good but a bit small, only a small portion of the sausages on the side, the sauce was very good, but there was not gluten-free starch substitute such as a gf bread or pasta to soak up all that great sauce.
Still a good experience and and over all tasty food.
Great Italiano! Focaccia was a bit underwhelming. Parpadell and pizza are delicious. Drinks specials on the board looked great but were all out. Wait staff seemed a bit awkward.
Really liked the food here, ordered a risotto and partner ordered a pizza. My risotto was very good and had a good amount of mushrooms and nice flavor. I might eat more than the average person but I wasn't very hungry and the risotto just filled me up. So I'd say the portion size was on the slightly smaller side. We got the food for a discount through TheFork so it made it more worth it!
