Hands down the best hospital I have been to. Staff/Nurses/surgeons were so kind and beyond helpful. No matter what time of the day it was, help was so close and always above and beyond. I was super nervous to go into surgery and into hospital. But the experience and food made it feel like a small holiday. Thank you so much to all the staff for making my stay so pleasant.

As a concerned parent, I had received numerous recommendations from friends and contacts extolling the virtues of Masada. However, my personal experience with my 16-month-old child led me to a different perspective. While I recognize the value of sleep training, I would strongly suggest parents consider conducting such training within the familiar confines of their own home.

During our visit to Masada, I observed significant behavioral changes in my baby. She appeared to avoid making eye contact and seemed emotionally detached. It deeply concerned me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that the experience had been traumatic for her.

What troubled me further was that straight away they put her into a pitch-black room with beds from the 1980s, and the locking mechanism didn't even work properly. The conditions were far from ideal, and I worried about her safety and comfort.

In light of my personal experience, I would exercise extreme caution and strongly reconsider before recommending a visit to Masada for any parent. The well-being and emotional security of our children should always be our top priority.

I came there for the sleep school program. I found my experience misleading. The website highlights “individualized program where they assess my infants health”. I read that and thought it agreed with my values. However what I discovered after being admitted is that the program is more about their strict schedule, not considering baby’s history, and ultimately my goals.

My baby was born 36 weeks at 1.9 kilos. I went to sleep school to learn more (first time mom) to understand if her sleeping habits at night can be improved. One of my main concerns which I shared during admission is making sure it doesn’t impact her health as she was born in the 5 percentile. They took my baby in for a nap and pretty much locked her in a room with loud music (which is close to 85 decibals in volume) for two hours. None of the info shared in admission trickled down to the two nurses. My baby was already sleeping 4-5 hours at night so I wanted professional advice if this can be improved or if it’s standard given her current weight/appetite. I didn’t get to talk to the nurses about my goals, and the information shared during admission wasn’t shared. My nurse didn’t even know she was a prem baby and even said “she’s not that prem”, which I thought was messed up given my baby was at NICU for 8 days and was a hard experience for me during that time.

Maybe this program works for some, but I suggest more transparency on the website on their methods, highlighting how they’re regimented with schedules to make sure parents have as much information before committing especially if they can’t answer emails or phone calls for more info.

I left the place after 3 hours and appreciate how straightforward that was, but I think it could be avoided with more info from the get go.

Was left traumatised by my experiences with nursing staff at this so called hospital. Room on arrival was dirty (including the toilet) and there was no soap. Room was absolutely freezing cold all day and night. Experienced severe POUR after surgery and was given more water to drink and chastised for not drinking enough water when I initially complained about it, which could have led to kidney or bladder damage. Since this incident I have suffered from chronic bladder issues. On top of this painful experience, cold and rough treatment from nursing staff who acted as if I was a fly on the wall led to significant mental trauma which lasted nearly a year. All but one of the nurses clearly hated their jobs. I have 5 other hospital visits to compare my experience to never had any major complaints about any of them and never been treated badly until I experienced this place. I will keep renewing this over and over so people are aware of how bad this hospital is because my treatment here was atrocious and my trauma was avoidable. Avoid this hell hole at all costs!

Early parenting centre- excellent service, great stay, I recommend it to every parent. Learn
the best wake windows, feeding structure and settling techniques to promote sleep. You won't know yourself and your child will get the sleep it needs. Don't bother with the "gentler" sleep schools, I tried one and left very disappointed, waste of time. Masada staff are lovely, caring and gentle. The rooms are large, food was really good, great coffee machine, lots of ward space to walk and play with your baby and interact with others, two play areas, easy access to outdoors, nearby park, heaps of shops. Baby puree and finger food was underwhelming, better to take some of your own stuff. My baby slept so well while there, and reinforcing it now at home. I wished I could stay longer. I felt supported and part of a little community.

Was in for day surgery and stayed overnight. The food did the job, as did the bed and small room. It's not luxury, but it's exactly what you need after you wake up

They discharged me after sinus surgery having stayed overnight. I was still heavily bleeding and later the day of release I had to be rushed to the Alfred hospital needing a blood transfusion. Totally mismanaged and treated poorly, needing a script for blood blocking medicine never provided. One should not need to be rushed via ambulance to emergency after being discharged from your hospital.

Recently had overnight stay for my toddlers operation, i called ahead to check if both parents could be there so we could support each other.
On arrival no we couldn’t, due to covid. But i could come back in the visiting hrs? So whats the big deal anyways.

As my partner was stuck in the room the whole time to deal with a upset toddler she struggled to use the toilet for one minute…

As she was in the room & couldn’t leave our little one the whole time she asked if there was anything she could have to eat later in the day.
Was told by someone - sorry you will have to figure that out.
I just want to add tho dinner did end up getting provided thankfuly.
There is a cafeteria but was closed and partner was consumed settling a little one when it was open.

I told nurse on duty when i did return during visiting hrs i think its appropriate i stay and help my partner, my childs scared & clinging to their mother who cant even use the toilet. She looked at me for a good 10seconds thinking of somthing reasonable to respond with no better answer than - No, sorry finished what she was doing and walked out.
(Its just general common sence tho) & covid was 3years ago so that excuse isn’t good enough anymore especially when you have to present to facility with negative tests.

How can you deny a young child the right of both the parents in their biggest time of need when they don’t understand what’s happening or has happened. I tried to think of a excuse that can actually justify it and i cant think of anything. Its seriously a very poor effort

Then the hospital discharged my child the following day with paperwork to a completely different person…. Hopeless

1 star for the good and helpful nurses that do deserve some good credit & the surgon who has done a good job.

Telling by previous bad reviews. Masada comments back saying they would like to hear more feedback, dont bother. These issues were raised at the time & in person face to face. We could have resolved it then.

We had a wonderful time at the Early Parenting Centre, but more than everything it was life changing for our little one. She went from waking up multiple times at night and only being able to contact nap, to sleeping independently in her cot for all night and all naps.
A big thank you to the amazing team at Masada, they are extremely helpful and professional. They gave us the confidence to support our baby's sleep and we finally have our sleep back as well.
We worked closely with Girish and he is amazing and looked after us and our little one so well.
We were not sure if their routine would work for her, but you have to trust them and the process and it proved to us that it works.
We highly recommend this program to anyone that is struggling with their baby's sleep!

Amazing nursing staff and a sleep program that really helped our family and the sanity of two first time parents.
Highly recommend. If anything needs improving it is the food options available for babies, and maybe some healthy snacks for the dining room like fruit would be nice.

I had a day surgery procedure today and I am totally impressed. I've had a lot of hospital visits I'm my life but thus was the best experience I have had to date. All the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and and went out of their way to make the patients happy and comfortable. They all appeared to lo e their job and wanted to be there!
I'm totally impressed.
A massive thank you to all that made me feel welcome and comfortable.

I was told by numerous friends and contacts how amazing Masada was however after going there with my little one (8 months old) I would not recommend it to anyone. I am not against sleep training however do it in your own home environment. I noticed changes in my baby after we left Masada. He wouldn't look at us in the eyes and seemed disengaged. Thankfully he reengaged after a day or two.but I feel that it was traumatising for him. I asked the staff to wake me if he was upset at night however I'm quite sure a couple of the nights that they let him cry hysterically for too long. I would NOT recommend going.

The Sleep School Study was a horrible nightmare to me. The staff at the Early parenting center always (at least 6 times in two days) suggested me to take sleep pills because the whole environment is miserable and unbearable, with non-stop babies screaming overnight and no sound proof. I am really surprised when they suggested sleep pills because 1. I’ve never suffered from or diagnosed for any sleep issue myself; 2. The sleep pills are prescribed drugs. The program itself is also very insane, they never look after the mum’s and the child needs, but just being cold and strict, treat the babies as robots.

When I was making the booking the staff at the Early Parenting Center returned the call after receiving the voice message. After we decided to self discharge and leave the “Sleep study” program early, staff at the EPC never respond or return the calls. My husband and I have called them many times in last two weeks, as they never give back my daughters “green book” on the day we left. I have explained in the voice message, we need that book for my daughter’s vaccine and regular MCH appointment. My daughter and I left the center for more than three weeks already, no one contacted me to organize a return or pick up of my child Green book, no one answers or returns our calls.

Life changing.
The Masada team are magnificent, from the nurses and midwives to Dr Lou, they all play such an important part in a literally life changing experience.
I have a baby with suspected allergies, would refuse bottles and this would impede her sleep and growth. I already had a schedule but she was still up multiple times a night. From night 2, for the first time ever, she had a full nights sleep. She now eats. She doesn’t cry anywhere near as much. She’s so much happier.
This team bring it all together in a really consistent way. I was still a sceptic day 3 but by day 4, I wasn’t anymore.
They’ve taken care of me (thanks Dr Lou) and they’ve taken care of bubs. I honestly couldn’t rate this team high enough. Trust the experts.
Don’t expect a 5 star hotel experience, incredible food or luxury facilities. You’ll have a clean room, plenty of space and all the amenities you need. And you’ll leave happier and more confident as a parent.

Sleeping school at Masada
Where should I start? It was not easy at all. I cried everyday. But I highly recommend it as it worked. My boy went there when he was 14 months old. I had never had a good night sleep before then-the whole 14 months. He woke up 2-3 times every night crying and screaming. I tried everything. I went to two different sleep schools before Masada. I hoped he could sleep through the night but they both did not help me achieve it. Masada did it. He slept through the nights there except for the first night.
Nurses are consistent at Masada, so you don't need to worry day shifts and night shift nursers give you different opinions. That is exactly what happened in the other two sleep schools we went. We were confused as A and B and C all said different, even opposite things. We dont know whom we should follow. I wish i have had chosen Masada earlier.

Why not five stars?
If Masada could cater for individual child's needs, that would be perfect. I understand the whole method used in Masada has been practising for years. They insist that bubs under 16/17 months old must have two naps at day time. My boy refused to take the second one. We tried five days there. He just cried for the whole 1 hour. The nurse wanted to continue. I took him out of the cot and I was a bit angry. We were told to stick to two naps after going home. We did for a week. He still refused it. I then changed it to one nap. He was fine after that. I wish i was listened better.

In general, I thank Masada for helping my baby sleep through the night and build a good sleep routine.

I had surgery at Masada and was so impressed with how clean, quiet and professional it was. The nurses were all so kind and never made me feel like a burden, they were there to help instantly with whatever I needed. Great hospital!

I sent the residential registeration forms two times and never receive email from VisionTree Optimal Car, once in August, the reception told me they didn't receive my form. I resent the form this month, I called them and make sure they could see my registration forms but I still didn't receive confirmation email. I called the reception and they told me to wait. I waited another two days and still nothing! I tried to call reception again and they dropped my phone. This is the way they gave help to parents
