20 Remembrance Day at Mars.
Wasn't the result Western United wanted. With Newcastle Jets going home with the win.
Nice ground not to crowded. Lots of parking outside the ground. Disappointed there wasn't more food truck.
Pretty decent ground and viewing, really clean and great atmosphere to be in. Easy to access and nearby parking available.
Easy access and parking. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Bar and restraunt was good, no crowd and lots of room.
Plenty of room, staff are still very helpful and friendly. Membership of $10 per year is very good value.
Amazing views from North Ballarat Sports Club bistro over Mars. Perfect for a Sunday lunch with family and friends.
Wendouree has the most amazing stadium in the entire City of Ballarat and it is about to get a enormous upgrade with thousands of more seats and upgrades everywhere
The stadium is good but could easily be a lot better. Lack of food outlets and needs much more seating to viable for big games/ events.
The security here are horrible. One dude was roaring as a way to tell people to get out of the centre of the stadium when we were allowed to kick our own balls after the match had ended. We weren’t told this was a rule. He literally didn’t even use words, just roared at people like some monster in a movie. It’s a football stadium with kids and families, not a horror movie script. He needs to be sacked.
As at April 2022 the stadium has undergone significant upgrades to address many acknowledged shortfalls from its first construction stage in 2017. New entrances with modern security and check in facilities have improved accessibilty. New permanent toilets have civilised the amenity aspect of the ground, particularly for those in the general entry area. New permanent canteens and partial concreting of the main standing hill have further improved things. Recent unisex change room upgrades coupled with the best playing surface in Australia places it among Australia's best regional outdoor sporting venues. With the announcement of the 2026 Commonwealth Games it is anticipated that the stadium will be significantly upgraded in capacity, amenities and lighting by 2026.
Went to an AFL football game here. Great stadium as it's small and you don't miss any of the match.
It is a beautiful ground for being way out WEST. The Council has done a fantastic job. Amenities were good and spacious. Lots of food and alcohol about. We had a lot of fun.
Great but I think for Ballarat there really should be a lot more cover. Ballarat has 4 seasons in 1 day, go prepared for any type of weather.
I love going to my club I play bingo pokies, buy my lunch and dinner.
Only one complaint is that on new years night you would like the club would supply something to eat such as party pies or finger food as there were a lot of people there spending there money
Apart from the day at the Footy being FREEZING COLD. Access to the Venue for a wheelchairs is good. Rug up well for the Footy. They are still in the middle of construction.
Very Disgusted with the meal and Salad. The Salt and Pepper Squid was overcooked, it was as tough as old Army Boots, l wasn't very happy considering we came there for our Birthdays. The salad wasn't washed, it still had dirt in it.l couldn't eat it.l complained about the whole meal and all they could say Sorry.lt makes me want to cancel my Membership with Ballarat North Sports Club. On top of all that they had a function and a Soccer game on where even we had booked during the week to come tonight, which we were not informed about it, we had to have a ticket to get into the Bistro. If we had known earlier, we could've booked for another night.
Great facility, complete shame about the lighting.
A nice boutique stadium with great potential for BBL cricket, AFL, Rugby and Soccer with terrific facilities; but totally let down by its anaemic lighting. Having watched a twilight AFL game there in 2018 and more recently a twilight A-League soccer game in 2021, the poor lighting seriously detracted from the spectacle on both occasions for those of us in the stands. It gets very difficult to see play on the far side of the field. Event and sports competition organisers should definitely cross it off their list as a potential night playing venue.
We had a Christmas break from work there. Food was nice, but the service was a bit disorganised.
Nice little stadium, just lookout for strange liquor rule where you can only buy from the grandstand your in and can’t move around between stands
Excellent surface and a lovely little ground, certainly a feather in the cap for Ballarat, clearly the best 'stadium' outside Melbourne & Geelong in Victoria. They will need to sort out parking if AFL games are to continue there, and it's a tad frustrating it hasn't been done already as there appears plenty of room to move. Anyway, baby steps and all that.
If this stadium was operating in a major city it would not host anything. I have had the misfortune of attending several events at this stadium over the last 3 years and it is always the same issues. Getting into this place is an absolute nightmare, i understand we require security checks and bag checks, but if people are struggling to get in before the start of an event you should consider opening the gates earlier. Lines of people for 200 metres is not a good look, and then no control over the crowd as people are allowed to push in. If you want these events then run them with control and timing, it is disgraceful for those attending. There is also a lack of food and drink vendors which just adds to the frustration of this stadium. To the people t that run this venue, wake up, at least put in some effort to make it enjoyable for those attending.
