Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre reviews
49 Good location and nice staff, but pool water quality is not good.
Do not know what the pool management is putting into the pool, but my swimming trunk is changed colour. Also.my granddaughter swimming suit exactly the same.
Smell very strong of chlorine.
My son and I love the swimming pool there, staffs are friendly and caring, Just if have more family change room, that would be great. Coz sometimes have to wait for family change room.

Great facilities and Lyn is a fantastic swim teacher for my 4 yr old, her approach can be stern but I have seen where previous teachers from other Aquatic centres make the experience more about songs than fundamentals.
I have seen rapid confidence and capability from my daughter due to Lyn's approach
In summary if I see that my child has acquired life saving skills, and that's all that matters to me.
My 10c your child will not advance if your sitting on the bench watching, do your child and teacher a favour and reinforce the skill set in the pool before or after the lesson, skills in the water are taught by the teacher, confidence in the water is your duty to reinforce the risks and enhance their learnings with their educators.
I know this, I didn't learn how to swim until I was 18 and was petrified of the water, I want my child to understand the risk and be equipped to combat the challenge.
These are life saving skills it's not a hobbies.

This place had good staff but it was really messy and my stuff got stolen such as my expensive Lululemon towel and my cousins brand new Nike socks such a disgrace
I recently visited Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre for my children swimming lessons and had a terrible experience.
One of the staff members, the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional.
He accused me of not supervising my children when I was clearly keeping an eye on them, and even threatened to contact the police.
My children were embarrassed and upset by the way he treated us.
As a person of color, I feel that the manager actions were discriminatory and targeted towards me and my children.
I do not recommend this place and urge others to consider alternative options for their aquatic needs.
I hope that the management will take steps to ensure that their employees are trained to treat customers with respect and professionalism.
My friend had a terrible experience at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre. The manager, Jeff, was extremely rude and demanding. He accused my friend of not supervising her children properly and demanded that she get off her phone, even though she was already watching her children in the pool. When my friend didn't comply with his demands, Jeff threatened to call the police, which was humiliating and completely uncalled for.
To make matters worse, Jeff also demanded that my friend's children get out of the water, which terrified them and caused unnecessary stress for everyone involved. Overall, her experience was extremely unpleasant, and the customer service at this centre needs to improve significantly.
I strongly recommend that anyone looking for a family-friendly aquatic centre should look elsewhere. This place has a lot of work to do in terms of training their staff to communicate with customers in a professional and respectful manner.
Fantastic place for fitness and fun.
Group fitness classes, gym, swimming pool sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
Customer service can be better!
Very helpful and friendly staff, the best I have ever come across in a Melbourne city council facilities.
Over all my experiences at the facility has been fun, warm and enjoyable. Fun place and my daughter loves it. Staff has been kind and most times helpful. The only gripe I have is being charged an additional $2 each time I want to watch my daughter's swim lessons when I'm already paying for the swim lessons. I'm told this is called a spectator fee and it's NONSENSE.
Good public pool. Easy parking and good pool areas for kids. Shallow pools and deeper pools. Paid at the front and the turnstiles don't seem to work very well.
Very helpful and friendly staff, the best I have ever come across in Melbourne cuty council facilities.
It is a well run centre. The classes are great and Luke is an amazing teacher. The only drawback is that there is no seating along where most of the lessons are (there is seating over the other side of the pool). Changerooms have always been clean when we have visited.
Overall it has been a decent experience, however the pool seems to be quite deep, specially on the other end. Can I PLEASE request MAC/Council people to lower the water depth/height. I'm 5'1 and cannot swim to the other side of the pool and stand because the water is too deep.
I know many of my friends have the same issue where we cannot swim a complete lap because it gets too deep (and scary) at the other end.
Please lower the water levels so that more people feel comfortable swimming. PLEASEEEEEE!
All in all a pretty decent family friendly facility. Some older equipment but mostly new. Toilet and shower areas have recently been updated on one side of the building and improved gates for entry too.
Overall the facilities and staff are pretty good, I do wish the weekend opening hours were longer though. 6pm close is too early.
Direct debits over school breaks are an absolute wrought. Booked swimming lessons for a child on last week of term, told there is no lessons over the holidays so we'll see you after the break. Then noticed a debit for the two weeks break. Phoned MAC and asked why when there is no lessons on. Response, we bill you anyway as you are allowed access - it's in our terms. Seriously! - no discussions of that during the see you after the holidays discussion.
A pool. Good variety of pool things to do. Laps, swim with kids, there’s a sauna and spa full of seniors. Clean. Lockers available. Staff were nice. Would pool again.
Awfull place. Mediocere pool, with evil staff. I remember a few years ago when my school took me to a few sesions swimming here, and the service was appauling. I, if I don't say so myself, am an amazing swimmer. I chose the highest group. (where the instructors were screaming at people for nothing.) But then, since I didn't follow this one promt about the most minor thing in a swimming style; was asked to get out of the pool by the instructor, and frog-marched to the WORST GROUP IN THE CLASS. And those people in the class weren't all that bad, however they where teaching swiming stuff you would learn in JUNIOR primary school! I asked to go in a better group, and they put me in the second-worst one, which was teaching the SAME THING. They made us play pointless games which we didn't want to play. They said I could redeem myself over the course of lessions if I was good, and I was, but they didn't let me go back. HORRIBLE SWIMMING POOL, DO NOT GO TO.
This place has indoor gym, indoor pools and spa facilities. Prices are affordable.
They also offer membership programs or also just pay as you go available. The indoor cafe has good snacks, tea, coffee and smoothies.
Separate pool areas for kids with slide and water sprinklers. They also offer lessons for bubs from the age of 6months old and above. Great time for families to bond.
The staff is attentive and friendly.
Large family changing rooms along with showers and bathrooms.
Ample parking space available.
