Counselling with Marg was a fantastic, life-changing experience. I’ve sought therapy a few times from different providers in response to major life events, and found that it offered short-term relief but didn’t seem to help me in the longer term. Marg helped me to not only understand deep patterns in my emotional processing & relationship dynamics with my husband and how I could work to change these, but also asked sensitive, non-judgemental questions that helped me realise I might have an underlying mental health condition. Both my husband and I now feel much more supported in our relationship and are really enjoying being a parenting team. And I’ve received diagnosis and treatment for anxiety, which no other provider had picked up on during previous counselling — now I can think and feel more clearly than I have since my mid-teens. Life is so much more enjoyable, and so much less stressful. Thank you so much Marg.

Pseudo professional. Ask her how she treated me after her husband was made redundant, it was shocking unprofessional behaviour, clearly indicated her unresolved trauma. Puts the psychotherapy profession to utter shame. Has been reported to the appropriate professional overseeing organisations and bodies.
Didn't want to give any stars but need to give one to post

Marg was thoughtful and professional in our sessions. I felt well guided in exploring issues I was anxious to get stuck into. It was a positive therapeutic experience.

Over past 12 years, I've seen 4 psychologists for extended periods of time. 1 was good, 1 was ok and 2 were not at all helpful. I've worked with Marg for 3 years now and I can honestly say, she has helped me make changes in my life that I could not of considered before seeing her. Her way of working with me has made me feel like I can be the change I want to see. I've now have a baby, which I never thought I'd be able to manage. I have no idea what the other negative review is on about. She is a seasoned professional as opposed to someone who stuck a bandaid on and crossed their fingers. Thank you Marg for all you help

My experience working with Marg was so helpful during a hard time. I worked with her a few years ago one on one and the impact from those sessions with her continues to show itself even years later. She is lovely and patient and always made me feel safe. Highly recommended:) xo

Marg is an exceptionally approachable professional. She is an outstanding listener, always engaging with you, making it clear that you are understood. Marg not only provides a very professional service; she is a real person who is genuinely passionate about helping, which in this day and age is a rare find.

This woman is terrible. I initiated counselling for me and my partner and all went well until one extrwmwly emotional session, the fourth and final session. Both my partner and I were in conflict and Marg did not listen to me, only to my gf. I was cut off, interrupted, judged harshly and accused. Afterwards I was left to leave in significant emotional upset and she called my gf back in to advise her of emotional abuse. Were we not there for relationship help? This woman was appalling. I have not heard from her since, whilst she has been emailing links and help to my partner. We were there together for joint help, not singular help, not for harsh judgement and condemnation. This woman is unprofessional and out of her depth in this environment. Apparently it is not ok to show emotion or upset. It is not ok to feel isolated, abandoned or hurt. A man must suck it all up and get on with it without complaint. I am so very angry with Margs appalling treatment of me and the issues needed to worth through with her. She should be deregistered and not allowed near couples seeking help. What a disgrace!

As a seasoned and specialist psychotherapist, I have taught in various schools of psychotherapy in Melbourne, supervised many clinicians, and treated innumerable people with a range of psychological difficulties. I have had the privilege of both teaching and supervising Marg over a number of years. I have been in a position to witness the unwavering respect, consideration and integrity she brings to her care for her clients. It is on the basis of this history that I highly recommend her as a warm, skilled and effective therapist.

I have known Marg for several years as we shared training as well as ongoing professional development. As a colleague I am very happy to recommend Marg as she demonstrates sensitive attunement and caring responsibility for her clients, both individuals and couples. I have recommended clients to Marg and I know that they felt supported and helped by her expertise.

I have been a colleague of Marg Ryan's for nearly a decade, and have no hesitation in recommending her. She has always demonstrated a comprehensive and confident understanding of psychotherapy theory and practice, as well as a warm, welcoming personality. I believe that she offers a safe and accepting environment that would facilitate a client's process of change and exploration of a wide range of personal issues.
