Mantra on Jolimont reviews
55King sized lies — they advertise king sized beds, however they are actually double beds. When I spoke with the front desk they just said “the system says it’s a king sized bed”, they refuse to take any accountability or do anything about it except refer you back to Accor. The room was okay, but dated. The best thing about this place is its location, and they take advantage of their customers with that fact.
Do not book here. My partner and I have been trying to move the date of when we want to September instead of on the 15th of July as we are not financially stable at the moment to be going anywhere at the moment. They have declined and said that we can offer the room to one of our mates. Very disappointing.
If you like physical keys and constant trains passing your room all through the night,
Non serviced rooms and no standard facilities that you would expect from a stander hotel then this is the place for you
Do not book to stay here. They are money hungry. Want to charge the whole booking amount to cancel 8 months out from the actual stay. Will never stay at a Mantra property again. Morally wrong and just want to cash in on people’s misfortunes.
Very very average hotel. In desperate need of a renovation. Service was good. Extremely limited parking, we were advised to park on the street 2 blocks away.that was fun in the rain collecting the car. Not worth the $$ paid, look elsewhere.
Very RUDE manager. I have been charged $1732.34 without any notice after several months. As per booking and accordingly with the travel agency my work company in September have provided a payment for my staying. However after three months I have been charged without any notice or knowledge about this issue which is unreal and against the law.
I have contacted the “famous RUDE manager” to explain why and how he have make this transaction and haven’t been able to apologise even after sharing all the proof given from my work company.
As I can see from the other reviews it seems to be a regular case to charge other customers without care or knowledge.
Follow the other reviews to mention that in a full week my room hasn’t been cleaned and not even the towel has been changed.
Please make a favour to be aware and away from this place, you will avoid many headaches.
Won’t recommend even to my worst enemy
Rude, unprofessional staff. Charged extra fees to credit card without asking permission or giving notice and made up a reason for the charges before reversing them. How can you trust a company that does that!? They clearly realized their mistake. Several times I called for clean towels, dishware, tv repair (which is supposed to be provided) and no one ever came.
Laundry/AC/heat didn't work and there was black mold on shower tiles (took photos), restaurant closed, no parking, list goes on. This is a tired, 1 star place but match the prices to the quality of rooms and experience!
Toilet paper jammed in bathroom ceiling, lock that doesn't work, lights broken, bed uncomfortable, parking too small to even get out of your car without damaging others. I could go on. This place is convenient to rod laver arena but is otherwise very tired. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere.
Staff are amazing so helpful One of the best motels I have stayed at. Very convenient location I would recommend Mantra on Jollimont to anyone Very convenient location for Rod Laver, MCG etc. Very comfortable and clean rooms.
Very tired, stated 4 nights in King Suite.no fresh towels or room clean- bathroom or bed made!
Did not accept Visa gift card as the stay was gift from family.
Only good thing was location.
The staff are amazing, the location is unreal. The rooms are not good! No fan in the bathroom, no toilet brush and the worst bed/beds (joined king singles) I've ever slept on with the worst pillows ever. My back and neck are not in a good way after a single night there.
Update the rooms and this could be an amazing place to stay.
Stayed 3 nights, short walk back into the city. Enjoyed opening door and window for fresh air. Plenty of room for me.
Staff abrupt and cold on arrival - car parking - fortunate enough to get one - “had” to leave the key with front desk? Uncomfortable with this. Bathrooms are tired - shower head falling down so had to hold it up. Room is clean. Smart tv would be good. Wont be back because of the service on arrival.
Showers were dirty could rub mould off the wall with my finger. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable
Don’t waste your money or time.
The room was decent, but we just had an unfortunate experience that our ac wasn't working properly. All things otherwise were fine.
Booked over the phone and NOT once were we told the restaurant wasn’t opened, so no room service either! Also not told the pool was undergoing maintenance so wouldn’t be open! Still had to pay full price! Only good thing is there’s a bed. These things should be made clear as it’s some of the reasons we booked here! Wouldn’t EVER recommend… Ripped us off!
Staff were fantastic, very helpful, we were there for the Kiss concert at Rod Laver arena and this place was the closest and most convenient at quite a reasonable rate. The staff all wore Kiss T-shirts which made us feel special. The rooms were quite basic but for an overnight stay was comfy enough, we were only there to sleep anyway. The only downsides were the shower door had no handle on the inside so you couldn't shut the shower door, you had to slam it and I'm not very tall (4feet 7 inches) and the glasses and coffee cups were all up really high and I couldn't really reach very well and the long life milk in the fridge curdled my coffee. For location though this place is a must for your next concert or football game or tennis match. We will definitely stay again for the convenience of its location.
For nearly paying $1000 for a “king room” it was terrible and small. Not once were we given fresh towels, our rubbish taken or any type of room service. The pool which should be swimable for guests, was dirty and black, would catch a disease in that. Overall not happy at all for the price you pay you get absolutely nothing back.
Ok for a midweek price. Bit dated and tired looking.no smart TV which was disappointing.
Would have been disappointed if I had have paid more.
Very poor experience.
Didn’t make it clear that there was no parking on site - I was forced to park 10 minutes away at a cost of $50 extra. Extra annoying as I need to leave early, so will have to walk my luggage across town to my car at 5.30am.
Reception stuffed up my security deposit when I checked in, ‘accidentally’ charging a non-refundable amount to my card.
There were two cockroaches in the room when I arrived, suggesting it wasn’t really clean.
Only good thing is the location.
Helpful staff. Clean room. Just a bad shower.not great pressure and the grout could be replaced. I'd go back.
