Mansfield Country Resort reviews
8 If someone appreciates tranquillity and serenity, Mansfield Country Resort is an ideal destination. Nestled in a vast wooded area, it's home to kangaroos, wombats, birds, and other wildlife, creating a thrilling but occasionally eerie nighttime experience.
However, there are some noticeable drawbacks. In an effort to maximize profits, the owner is absent from the premises after 5 PM and on weekends, limiting access to certain amenities like canoeing. Even at 3: 30 PM, I couldn't book a canoe. The resort would be a disappointment for coffee lovers. The absence of coffee machines in the reception, although available in Mansfield city, a 15-minute drive away, is a bit painful. Takeaway items are unavailable after 5 PM and on weekends.
While the 49 cottages offer many amenities, the bathroom showers leave much to be desired. When both showers run simultaneously, neither provides adequate hot water. Adjusting the water temperature in the spa room's shower is challenging, and the resort does not provide toiletries.the swimming pool water is cold. Kitchen utensils, while seemingly clean, were found to be smelly upon closer inspection, suggesting they may not have been thoroughly cleaned with detergent.
With a bit of effort, the resort could significantly enhance its appeal. Implementing changes such as offering a few paddleboats, maintaining an attendant until sunset, and installing vending and coffee machines in the reception, among other improvements, could make a substantial difference.
Wonderful place to take the family for the holidays. Beautiful, scenic and relaxing. It's worth the stay
Love it. Super location. Kangaroos come almost to the door. Right on Lake Eildon. Units are comfortable and separate. Adore the resident cat, Percy. Always enjoy weeks spent there. Not far from a good golf club. Mansfield is a vibrant town
We loved staying here! It was quiet, relaxing and great views. My kids loved the pool even if it was cold they still went in. And the spa was a great way to end the day. We would definately come back.
I found one of the main staff seemed to be unhappy each time I saw her. It would have been nice to be welcomed a little friendlier, and crack a smile at least once. Not that she was not 'nice', but a little cold and unapproachable. Perhaps work on some rapport building.
Aside from that particular interaction, I still give 5 stars!
Spacious and homely with lots of fun activities like kayaking, pool and mini golf. Lots of trees around and the lake is lovely. Very relaxing.
Insufficient heating, we actually had to purchase a portable heater from Mansfield to get the temperature inside up to a comfortable level. No internet! Like going back to the 1980s. Very weak mobile signal, no wired or wireless internet in the cabin. Shower water strength was terrible, it was what I imagine a shower is like in prison. Playground equipment was old and unsafe. Nice view and location. Byo DVDs
Absolutely love Mansfield Country Resort
Very relaxing, well maintained. Good facilities. Fishing water activities great sunset over Eildon, close great wineries and great drives into the high Country etc
Bit far from. Everywhere & not much in shop on site so you have to remember if arriving late bring food with you. However it is in a beautiful country setting & staff most helpful.
