Not happy. Be careful what you bid on. They hide faults, and you will be stuck with the purchase

Let's start at The End, because that's where this story begins.

Our car was kidnapped, and held for ransom at Manheim - Altona North. It was treated well enough, except for all the various scribblings, and arrows, and circles scrawled all over certain parts of the car which WERE NOT in the least bit relevant, crucial, or necessary to the ACTUAL panels which required ACTUAL repair.

We originally popped the car in to be repaired at Capital SMART in Carrum Downs (go check out the review we left for them), that inept bunch hand-balled it to another bunch of idiots in Vermont, (Gemini - they have some rather interesting reviews too) who hand-balled the car to this "too hard basket" of a place.
So.after several calls, including getting useful advice from the Ombudsman, we finally paid the ransom money and rescued our perfectly working, fully-serviced, smooth, and quiet as a dream car.
Nothing fancy. Perfectly decent car.

It cost considerably less money to repair at home, in the garage, than it did for the entire cast of useless, inefficient idiots to achieve the sum total of absolutely nothing.zero.nada.niente.ziltch.

It travelled to five locations by four tow truck drivers to finally be returned in far worse shape than when we left it, in what we thought would be capable hands.but, alas, no.

We sourced the parts, and had them delivered to us in mere days - not the weeks it took for all of the above.
Luckily, one of us has panel beating experience.

This entire saga was highly unnecessary and uncalled for from start to finish. I haven't even mentioned the insurance company, because THAT is an entirely different saga in itself!

There is no moral to this story, so you'll just have to figure it out for yourself.

Not very happy with dealing with them. Sold me car as a driver able, so when I Collect the car, it stopped after 4 kilometres. And they suggested me to return the car to have a look, after one week I got call to collect the car saying it’s drive able but not far maybe few kilometres. So I had to pay for tow truck twice. Such a terrible experience.

Very rude and unhelpful.

Simply asked for a photo of what was remaining in my car that had been towed here, so I could work out if it was worth the 2 -3 hr public transport commute (don’t have a car as it had been hit and towed away) was rudely told no repeatedly and when asked why they can’t simply answered because we don’t. I was understandably upset, trying to explain the whole situation of having my car hit while parked and no longer having a car on top of having to pt out to Altona. I was told “stop talking” if I tried to speak she shouted over me. “Stop talking” I’ve never been treated so poorly. Wasn’t surprised to see such bad ratings when I came to share my experience.

Be VERY CAREFUL buying a salvage vehicle, you seem to get less rights and get steam rolled if the car isn't as described, or the car receives extra damage due to their negligence in moving the car or transporting it.

Had purchased an expensive vehicle, only for it to be severely damaged during being moved, Manheim has accepted no faults and is stating they dont want anything to do with it in "any way shape or form"

So it seems buying anything salvage cheap or exspensive, always budget in a forklift smashing it up or transport.buyer BEWARE!

Don’t buy the car from them always ripping customer, and staff is very rude don’t know how to deal with customer, I buy a car from them on report they say everything good and I took it it stopped on road transmission not working and engine light on, they very very bad Aution people

Nothing but issues with my car from day dot, a cheap car became very expensive very quickly. Should of just bought from a dealer with warranty. Auction offered not help what so ever.

Recently bought a car not abig price it was just about 2k but as action title the car was hail damage but when take it to rwc the car was impact rear damage I called them but they said no we can't get it back I told them to sell it back they said it's damage car we are not gone sell it for u be aware my friends pickles is better what they shows they sell that

I bought a vw Passat from them on the 20/02023 and it’s says impact damage on the vehicle. But the real thing is it’s has no engine and they didn’t take any pictures of the hood so don’t buy anything from that auction

Such a rude staff there…and also a bad experience about bought a car from there.air conditioner wasn’t working…and they didn’t mentioned in condition reports…and when talked with one of lady there of representatives of manheim …she told me to sell this car on car sell website.so that’s not fair.such a fraud company.never buying a car from manheim auction…

Worst experience, will never buy from them.
Bought online from gold grade vehicle grade 2. Car looked fantastic in pictures as it was cleaned from outside only and posted shining pictures.
Reported faults were only the tyres and minor chips and dents.

But here come the truth of auction cars when you go for roadworthy. I thought it could be $300-500 for roadworthy max but, upon inspection the genuine faults which auctions mechanic/inspector never pick just to sell the cars were quoted $2000.
They are not cheap to buy. So basically it’s a gamble, car can be a lemon. I found the same model on Carsale and market place way cheaper than the total cost of the auction car, so it’s my advise buy a car with ROADWORTHY certification from a private seller or a dealership.

I recently purchased a vehicle at a Manheim online auction. I was concerned that as I don’t live in Brisbane and was unable to see the vehicle but the information provided was sufficient to put my mind at ease. I had a number of queries which were answered by their very friendly, efficient and professional staff. I was able to get sufficient information from following their online auctions to allow me to be confident that I was getting a good price for the vehicle I was interested in. The staff organised the registration and within no time I was driving off in my new car. I am extremely pleased with my experience of buying a vehicle at an online auction through Manheim and I would highly recommend their services to anyone considering buying a vehicle online.

This place has bad receptionists if you call to enquire they’re customer service is awful, that alone made me buy at greys.

2 cars i bought, full price i paid! Engine light flushed straightway when i turn the cars on
Called to complain, the answer is we dont check the car mechanically! Why would i buy a car with engine light on? And pay full price?

Purchase of equipment for my business was made easy and more affordable using Mannheim Auction Brisbane. Easily picked up equipment with no hold ups and polite personal.

PICKED IT UP ITEMS FROM A WRITTEN OF CAR. UNFORTUNATELY NO CARE WAS TAKEN WITH MY ITEMS AND JUST SHOVED INTO A PLASTIC BAG. ALSO SMALL AMOUNT OF MONEY WAS MISSING.
NEED TO TAKE MORE CARE.

So difficult to deal with it was almost better to just leave my car than try to organize a tow.

One day I am told that I physically have to be there to tow my vehicle (which I can't because of work), then months later they tell me the opposite. Billed me twice, and gave the person that towed my car a headache.

It should be so difficult to just store and release cars?

Manheim has become a dumping ground for dealer vehicles that have fundamental faults too expensive to be rectified. Obvious mechanical faults are intentionally overlooked whilst particularly minor chips and scratches are declared perhaps to instil buyer confidence. Best stay away, no more Manheim for me.

Whats the point of having a starting an auction for a car at $12,500 and after it closes at $14,000, you are still asking for $15,000! Rigged!
