Mamma's Boy Trattoria reviews
39Such a lovely restaurant. Warm and friendly service and amazing food. Will definitely be going back.
Did the bottomless gnocchi and cocktails on Sunday, lovely space and ambiance with nice gnocchi and cocktails. Certainly worth it!
Great little spot, a little hidden but once you know where it is no problems.
A bit loud and seating is quite squashed together.
Food is yummy as are the cocktails, worth going with a bit of a group.
Had the bottomless gnocchi, ragu gnocchi was pretty good. But the seating ruined the experience, it was ridiculous and extremely uncomfortable, squashed against a wall between the front door and the bar, right in the line of constant foot traffic from the staff. I’ve noticed multiple people complain about this particular seating, and instead of rectifying the issue and perhaps removing that seating all together, I see that any negative feedback on here is met with excuses from the owner. I overheard a waiter tell walk-ins it was full capacity and it was clear that it was, so even if we brought it up at the time the restaurant was full with no other seating and the damage was already done, I just wanted to get out of there. If you are hospitality professionals as you say stop making excuses and take on the criticism as a professional should. Remove that specific seating as its clear it’s giving you negative reviews.
I don’t usually find Italian Restaurant to have this warm & inviting vibes like Mamma’s Boy Trattoria.
Perfect for an evening out with family and loved ones.
The food, the ambiance and the hospitality of the staff all are amazing!
One of my favorite is the Veal Cotoletta. The crumbed was good and crispy while the meat is juicy and tender.
We ordered both of the Gnocchi menu and their both amazing! I personally prefer the Gnocchi Porcini Mushrooms better than the other one.
Will definitely come back here
Booked for bottomless brunch on the wrong weekend and they managed to fit us in even with the wrong booking. Awesome service and really delicious gnocchi, thanks for the great experience!
Had a cracking dinner here tonight with the family. Food and the service were both excellent. Seafood pasta in particular was beautiful and fresh. Will be back.
Great atmosphere and gorgeous food. I had the gnocchi with spinach, cherry tomatoes, pecorino and truffle. So so good. My friend ordered the baked snapper which was also wonderful. The menu is perfectly balanced and very difficult to decide as every dish looked so good. The service by Dario and the guys was so friendly and quick. There was a table of 8 next to us but the noise levels were remarkably okay. Just loved Mammas Boy Trattoria. Will definitely be back. A rare surprising find in the heart of Brunswick.
Cocktails were not very nice - they all had a weird taste but food was good. Unfortunately watched the waiter take our half finished cocktail jug to the bar, and then proceed to pour it into a glass and serve it to someone on another table…. So incredibly gross
Did the bottomless gnocchi & cocktails, the staff were super friendly and kept the cocktail jugs coming, they even let us take home the half finished gnocchi we were too full to finish at the time!
Deliziosa! The bottomless gnocchi and cocktails were "Mwah! " (chefs kiss) lots of fun and great service too! Can't wait to return x
Mamma's Boy Trattoria is truly a hidden gem of Brunswick. The ambience was beautiful as though you've stepped into Italy. The service was friendly and the pasta was to die for! It's probably amongst the best Italian meals Ive had in Melbourne. A big shout out to Dario also who made our evening dining experience amazing! Will come back 10/10!
Excellent service. The pastas and risotto was lovely. The fish main was ok. Lacked a bit of flavour. Will come to try other dishes.
I can not recommend mammas boy trattoria enough, they really make you feel like part of the family. I unfortunately had to have dinner alone and they gave me the “VIP” experience just to make me feel comfortable. I want to say thank you again I really appreciate all the effort you went to!
Seating was awful. We were placed right near the door where the waiters would constantly walk passed and stand near us watching out for everyone’s table. It was really uncomfortable. (There was a really big vase and a bookshelf between the other tables and ours creating a walk way of sorts which is silly because it just made the area feel more claustrophobic)
The food was fine, cocktails were ok if you hate yourself otherwise they tasted really bad. Restaurant was just pretty tiny and our seats shouldn’t have been seats in my opinion. Because it’s so small it’s super loud too from all the people inside, if you’re looking for a relaxing, peaceful dinner then isn’t the place.
Bread was lovely and the ragu gnocchi was good, others not so much.
50 minute wait for food with no apology, only small bottles of sparkling water available so had to order3 bottles instead of 1 large for my family -$24. I would have brought complimentary bread and olives at the 30minute mark. Service was non existent and food was ordinary. Not recommended.
Could not recommend enough! Staff were so lovely and attentive, food and drinks were amazing and atmosphere was so beautiful!
Amazing service and delicious food and drinks! Went for my birthday lunch, thanks for the birthday shots Zac!
Great evening last wednesday. Salted cod spaghetti, lamb ragu spaghetti, meat balls, & veal colletta. Excellent service, so we hope to try the gnocchi soon.
