As soon as you get in this place they are really focused on having you removed. They make a lot of money from each bed ($20-30k) and the quicker they can have you removed the more money they make. They understand what your weaknesses are and they prey on them. While I was there for 5 days I seen a number of ppl kicked out for silly reasons. While I was leaving I noticed my room was being shown to a new person. I would highly suggest anyone to stay away from here. They do not have your best interest at heart at all, it’s just a money printer for them.

It's a great facility and the staff are professional and helpful. Many staff are recovering addicts themselves

I entered Malvern Private June 2021. Almost 9 months on and still sober. Professional staff and majority of them are recovering addicts too. I cannot thank this place enough. Lyn spent 2 hours on the phone with me to do my assessment while I was alone and sick yet she remained calm & patient. She called every couple days prior coming in to check up on me and make sure I was okay. The nurses kept me company at night when I was sick and couldn’t sleep. The counsellor and doctors all professional yet caring and understanding. This place wasn’t just a hospital or rehab. It was a stepping stone. They helped me find accommodation for when I left and ensured I would be safe. They made sure I had connections within 12 step programs when I left! Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Life saver!

Malvern Private and their staff are AMAZING!
This facility is not just a rehab center but a stepping stone for setting up the rest of your NEW life. I have not only recovered, I am thriving and happier than I have ever been.
If your looking for real change in your life then it doesn't get better than the team here.
Forever in debt to this place.

My darling boy said.absolutely saved my life and taught me the skills I needed to help myself. I've learnt so much about myself and have been able to open up and talk about things I could before. Definitely worth the money. Staff are very supportive and knowledgeable. Got to meet others struggling and so I felt I wasn't alone. Do it today.

I have been to more than 10 treatment facilities around the country, Malvern Private has by far been the best quality treatment I have received by a long shot. This place treats the reasons behind why you use where as I have found the other facilities just treat the addiction itself. Malverns approach results in a far more sustainable recovery. If I was to ever recommend a addiction facility especially loved ones and friends i would strongly suggest Malvern Private.

One year clean as of yesterday, thankyou Malvern!
After trying countless ways to get clean on my own Malvern Private provided me with the space, support, tools and knowledge to finally break free from active addiction. I couldn't give this place a better wrap, from the 24hrs nursing staff (all mostly with a personal background in addiction), physiatrist, councillors and the program it's self just blew me away how effective it was for me. Malvern helped me find myself and brought me back to life life for myself and loved ones, for that I will be eternally grateful!

My experience at Malvern Private was genuinely life-changing. A real sense of community was fostered, and medical professionals of the highest order (and by that, I mean the very very best in the business), worked side-by-side me to ensure I received the holistic mental 'recharge' I required. The follow up care is also exemplary; they don't just let you run off without checking on you, and there is no judgement if you need bit of extra help or refocusing. I met people with all sorts of stories, from all walks of life - the connecting thread was a desire to feel and be better. Being around people driving towards a common goal was so utterly refreshing. MPH is a special place in many, many ways.ps. For what it's worth - I am in no way religious. AT ALL. Malvern is all-inclusive and does not push any agenda. So please keep that in mind if that is what is putting you off.

I believe Malven Private hospital is the addiction specialist program offered in Australia. Each client is treated holistically and supported to identify the changes necessary for long lasting recovery. The staff are all expertly trained to offer specialist care and support. I thought recommended this service.

Has changed my life! The support I received leading up to my admission during and after has been amazing! I was so disconnected from myself and had been isolating myself from any connections to any one which made it really scary for me actually go into rehab! But the care and support I received made my time their so easy! If you are serious about wonting to turn your life around then I highly recommend Malvern! Thank you so much for helping me get my life back

This is without a doubt one of the best rehab facilities I've ever been familiar with and even had the privilege of attending. The MPH facility provides 24/7 services both during and after admission: forever. There's a 24/7 team on deck for inpatients, and a diverse and highly knowledgeable array of nurses, counsellors, pain doctors and psychiatrists – many with first hand experiences of addiction and or world renowned reputations – who provide a comprehensive and thorough program that not only tackles a substance dependence and or relapse on the surface, but gets to the heart and also addresses why that dependence even came about in the first place. This is not like other rehabs, that just zonk clients out on valium for a month and leave them in their rooms eating pizza and watching DVDs. This place gets to the source, and is invested in both you AND your family's wellbeing. It is not an easy program, but if you commit to it, and stick it out, the benefits and life changes are undeniable.

Also, once the 2-6 week inpatient program is complete, there is also a half day program available for months, weekly dinners to discuss sobriety, which is all complemented by long term support and planning through a number of proven programs and initiatives. I'll be forever grateful to the staff and peers at MPH, for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to truly helping those who often don't want to be helped or feel they can't. And I now consider many of MPH's associates to hopefully be lifelong friends and peers, too.

MPH knows what they're doing. Unfortunately, this is a difficult and widely misunderstood area of expertise, where "true success" is ill defined and often difficult to measure, as relapse is common, etc, and hence why I feel there are a number of negative reviews on here. It comes with the territory. But I can say hand on heart, this place changed my life and outlook on many things, and it changed my family's life, too, and the staff care like no staff I've ever met before. ️

My apologies for this long overdue review. Each of us have a unique journey toward recovery and mine is no exception. Early recovery is tough and the quality of nursing and counselling staff are paramount at that vulnerable time. I was fortunate to have been referred to MPH following unsuccessful and extremely unpleasant rehab experience at an expensive clinic with unqualified staff (aka Hader Clinic). I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and knowledge shared by all staff at MPH; nursing, counselling, medical and psychological. I was diagnosed with an advanced metastatic cancer midway through my time at Malvern. I could not speak highly enough of the clinical expertise of medical staff who detected my cancer that another GP may have missed if they looked at their patient primarily as an addict. I have the utmost respect and appreciation of nursing staff who supported me before and after my surgery. I believe the MPH program, caring staff and individual care have given me the inner strength and serenity to accept my diagnosis, surgery, radiation and numerous chemotherapy treatments over the past 18 months. I credit my recovery (19 months clean) and positive outlook on life to MPH. Thank you to all staff at MPH. You changed my life forever.

My sister was admitted there last year, and we weren't really happy with the focus on other addicts know best. We know they understand how it feels to be an addict but were left to feel that her attending 12 step meetings and finding a sponsor was all that mattered. Nothing else. As a close family who loves her dearly we felt insignifciant. I read one of the reviews here saying that the head counsellor doesnt have any qualifications at all. I am not surprised. At Malvern, being another addict seems to be more important that anything else. We ended up at Melbourne Private which we felt was much more family inclusive and had a broader and stronger wholistic approach and she's doing so well and we are so proud of her.

Please do thorough research before sending a loved one here. While there were some good staff, the overall program was incredibly lacking and I would go as far to say unsafe. It didn't help my loved one at all.

I went through the program a while back and can honestly tell you as someone that knows that correct professional treatment isn't easy to find when dealing with one of the most painful challenges this facility is by far the best the field has to offer and amazing staff

Spare yourself and your family the heartbreak. Malvern will totally deny it, and use other words to explain it, but it's a religious cult through and through and you'll be expected to 'belong' and follow their practices for - well.forever. And it makes no difference how it affects the people who love you.

The beginning of the journey starts here. Nowhere near perfect and full of egos and characters, yet the first small step in the right direction. Clean since 2012.

I can't describe in words the amazing work done at Malvern Rehab. For all those who look for a holiday, I suggest going to Bali or Thailand or wherever you want to have a holiday. If you want to find and fix the hole in your soul, I recommend going to Malvern.the nursing staff and counselling staff are firm and strict, but so empathetic, so non-judgemental and kind, they helped me dig up my piled up pain and issues from my childhood and want to live my life and not escape from it. I highly recommend it! Going to MPH was the best I have done in my life so far.:) Thank you MPH

Yes, getting staff or other cronies to write reviews rather than actual patients is very dodgy. I recognise Inness Purcell as being a ring in.shame on you for contribiting to this decpetion.
