5The blonde lady who helped us on our recent stay in this delightful historic township was most informative. She was most engaging, exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the area, providing us with a multitude of ideas of where we should explore. We immediately used the Historic Town Walk guide, outlining Houses of Notable People accompanied by a brief description, driving along the High street and the surrounding area. Some beautiful homes and magnificent architecture as well as more modest structures. We were amazed at the number of school buildings which were predominant.
A great step back in time. Helpful with gold maps free and for sale. Worth visiting before self discovery of town

Behind the Visitor Information centre is a little kids playground and a nice spot for a family BBQ.
