GOOD STUDIOS, BAD SERVICE

I will start this off by saying that this is a good location and the studio spaces they have on offer are fantastic.

BUT be aware when booking with them to never book at 8AM as this is when they “open”, however they are rarely on time. So although you pay to be there at 8AM, you don’t get in until whenever they decide to unlock the gate. Also, they only have the 1 phone number (which is inside the building) so if you call them to ask where they are, you will not get through.

All-in-all, was still happy with the studio but will definitely look elsewhere before considering using them again.

Best studio I've found in surrounding suburbs; exceptionally friendly staff, fantastic spaces and gear available, overall friendly vibe.
Can't recommend this place enough!

Magnet is my comfort place <3 It brings me so much joy simply knowing it exists. It's always a pleasure to soak in the creative juices oozing from this space and its staff

Love rehearsing here! Always friendly faces and is just a great place to do some yells and make some tunes! Highly recommend for a relaxed non-intimidating rehearsal space!

Used to be owned by really welcoming and innovative owners, has since passed to new owners who are borderline pathological, unhelpful and vindictive. The space itself is amazing but ethically I would never recommend this rehearsal space. The new owners seem like they’re in the wrong industry, here.

Probably the most offensively bad rehearsal spaces in Melbourne. Things out of order, studio essentials not working. Soundproofed? Lol
Not to mention staff with a bad attitude. There are much better options that are far cheaper than this place. Avoid. Seriously!

Good concept. Simple. However, we had a bad PA on the first visit and lost 1hr moving the whole setup to another room. No effort to compensate for the loss of time.

First time coming to Magnet studios for a solo practice. First impressions were alright, staff were friendly and the size of the room was decent. However the lighting in the room was terrible. Way too dark and got extremely cold during the session to the point where I wanted to leave, as it was affecting my playing. Would also be nice to have a chair to sit down on rather than a couch, which was a bit uncomfortable to play guitar on. The equipment was decent and still had fun playing.

Very friendly staff, easy load in and out, good location, great facilities (excellent vocal booth), and really great and affordable prices! Great deals for drum practice with kit hire included! Amazing place all round

Hmm, once you are rehearsing it's fine, but there is a 150 meter trek from where you can park to the studios, if you have to make multiple trips it gets old fast. It's a former mushroom farm, so it is cold in the studios.

The jam session was lit. Good rooms. We accidentally broke a mug and they were so chill. Bit of a trek to get yhere but well worth it. There was a free bag of marshmallows in the fridge! Best studio evar

Fantastic space for recording, shooting or anything else you feel like creatively doing. So special.

Lovely place to rehearse moderate to loud ensembles. Great spaces and staff are really genuine.

I love it here. The garden is a beautiful space to regenerate, the rehearsal rooms all lovely and the spatial studio is incredible to drum in with heaps of natural reverb (and looks great filmed).

Great rehearsal studio - large spacious room with good noise isolation and easy load-in / lout-out access with plenty of parking spaces. Matt also did a great job on my valve amp (retube and rebias).

This was my first visit to Magnet Rehearsal & Recording Studios.

This rehearsal facility is converted from old mushroom growing cool-rooms, I'm told.

The staff member on hand, Brendan, was helpful and pleasant.

Payment was requested up front. The cost of the room may reflect its shortcomings.
The room was clean, tidy and reasonable size for a 4 or 5 piece band. A basic PA handled vocals and acoustic guitar OK.

The down side: there was no working ventilation in our room and none of the rooms have air-conditioning. The result was unpleasant to say the least - a very hot room that was difficult to concentrate and work in.
This may have been OK for mushroom growing but for its current use it poses a heath and safety issue.

One of the better rehearsal spaces in melbourne. Cheap, well soundproofed and close to everything you need.

Been going here for years. Great rooms to rehearse in. Super isolation from other studios, mad vibes in their garden; excellent recording facility

Great place to practice, also contains great furniture in the rooms. The rugs really tie it all together.
