Wow. If you want dry food, a peice of chicken that only covers half the bun and has the flavour of old burnt oil that must not have been changed in at least a week, then this is the place for you. Took three bites as I was absolutely starving, then threw it in the bin. Will not be surprised if end up feeling sick. This was their 'day time' version of the store "Moey's". Yuck just yuck.

Had the most amazing hamburger tonight, hubby and I couldn't fault it. Keep it up and stay with same formula, it was exceptional

As per another review, the first impression on entering was the 'tired' oil smell. Lovely people but the takeaway burger and chips were just OK. Chips tasted as if the oil was overdue for a change.

Not happy. Didn't get the order that we paid for. Very difficult to check once its handed to you and discover when you get home and no chicken salt. Certainly won't be back

Poor quality Dim Sims, Average Fish. Minimum order amount for delivery is bothersome. The order I got gave me the wrong flavoured Ice-cream.

In a word awful worst tasting fish and chips you could imagine Dims sims overcooked potato cakes full of oil, chips were uncooked I could go on most of the meal went in the bin

Scallops were size if 5 cents, asked for grilled and got battered fish and potato cakes were soggy.

Absolutely disgusting and a waste of money. I’d rather get fat off of food that is delicious and worth the money. Ordered via phone at 6pm for 6: 45pm pick up. Arrived at 6: 55pm and it still wasn’t ready. Got home and the chips and potato cakes were soggy, oily and just unappetising. The potato cakes were RAW IN THE MIDDLE!? !? ! Even the servo gets potato cakes right? Also heard the owner yelling at one of his staff members out the back which shows he cannot handle the pressure. The whole experience was horrendous. As a local of 20 years that usually goes to Oceanview Fish and Chip shop, I won’t be making the mistake of going to Madeley St Fish and Chips EVER again!

The most awful fish n chips I've ever experienced. The place smelt like burnt oil I should of ran for the hills by then but decided to give this place a go. The fish was overpriced, we asked for extra crispy but it was undercooked and dripping in burnt discusting oil, the oil actually soaked right through the paper and left oil on my kitchen bench top, also I asked if the calamari was real or prefab as my son won't eat prefab and they had no idea, they then showed me a very suspicious looking calamari ring, appearing to be frozen and very prefabricated t, then telling me they "think" its real? Honestly I'm sorry but l will never return here again.

My fish and chip shop along the coast, local secret. They make their own potato cakes and sweet potato cakes.

Didn't answer their phone so that we could order so we had to come and wait for close to an hour but, in the end, the fish and chips were pretty good.

Brilliant old fashioned fish n chips. The home made crunchy potato cakes are amazing and are a must! Not greasy or fatty, just great fish and chips here. You wont be disappointed.

Ocean Grove has a few fish and chip shops and they are all pretty good in my opinion. We had take away from Madeley Street recently and it has to be one of the best. Very friendly staff. Home grown lemons thrown in was a nice touch.

Has potential although needs improved time management skills. Unfortunately it was a really busy night and we were told it would be over an hour and a half wait. On our return it had obviously been sitting on the shelf for over 20 minutes and was subsequently cold and soggy. Would give another shot if we are back in the area but dealing with busy peak periods needs to be better managed

Not good at all.
- didn’t get a couple of things I ordered
- flake didn’t seem like ‘flake’, terrible
- they tried to give me something I didn’t order
- staff struggling with demand though not busy, very amateur
- 40 mins+ and my order stayed on the shelf without being called

Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Definitely the best option in ocean grove. Had one of their hamburgers this time and OMG they are awesome. Great value for the price too

Great service was told a 40 min wait and was spot on. Staff friendly and cooperative. Great to see chef back from Indonisia

The last 3 times our food has been burnt, undercooked and tasted like dirty oil.
As a local I'm not impressed.
That is 3 strikes, and we won't be coming back.
I was ill from oil and my boys wouldn't touch it, we had to throw out $40 worth of food. With so much competition in the area you need to pick up your game, clean your oil and employ staff who can COOK!
