Lots of things to look at.
Well spaced out goods but have to be careful not to knock them over.

Would revisit the store to purchase something.

Cute shop, lots of homewares (plates, bowls, chopstick holders etc) and many unique items. Pretty much what it says on the box. I like it, worth a look if you're in the area.

Such a beautiful shop that is well stocked with Japanese plates, bowls, cups, and other products such as socks etc.

Their vintage products are pretty interesting. Can’t believe I saw ultraman figurines That’s the equivalent to power rangers back in those days!

Would recommend this shop if you like to get a gift for a friend. Their products are unique and prices are reasonable.

Beautiful shop full of handmade Japanese home wares. Would be good if they also stocked more cutlery given all the tablewares.

I went to Made in Japan to buy a gift for a friend but ended up buying quite a few more things because the tableware they stock is so stunning!
The store is bigger than I expected, and they stock an amazing range of dinnerware suitable for everyone's taste.
The staff were lovely as well and carefully packed my items. Kudos to one of the staff members who told me that the vase I picked had a small chip on it so I could swap it for another.
I will definitely be back:)

Wonderful selection of Japanese pottery, table and tea wear. Also furniture and glasses. Also a good place for ikebana vases and kenzans. Prices are very affordable.

1 of my top 10 ten stores of Melbourne as my crockery fetish doesn’t help being in this building with the beautiful plates on offer. Brought many styles of plates & bowls and love show casing them when entertaining guests, makes food look even better!

A hidden gem that sells anything you need to serve and enjoy Japanese food and drinks. Picked up a pack of Genmaicha tea and it is absolutely amazing.

I bought the white/ blue bowls a few months ago and came back to get a few more but they were all sold out. The lady that worked there helped me pick out some other bowls (the black) that were the same shape to match. Love the variety. Super pretty.

I love this store so much! So many great ranges, and I just succumb to temptation every time I visit! We have so many lovely plates and bowls in our kitchen thanks to our visits, which all started with great brunches at Wynyard, next door. Every brunch saw me come away with more pieces from Made In Japan!

Always great stuff in here. All sorts of nick nacks you didn't realise you needed. Simple wabi sabi

Absolutely stunning tableware at a reasonable price for excellent quality. A really cool space and friendly staff too. I'd spend all day browsing if I could!

Ordered online for the first time - would not be returning as quite disappointed with the overall experience. The photos of the products are not good representations of items received - the colours are very different. The descriptions online are quite basic, I should have steered clear based on the lack of detail of the products. Probably a better experience in-store if you can see the items but would not recommend if purchasing online. The returns policy is terrible, only exchange or store credit even though I stated the item was different from what was shown online.

I picked up my first MIJ ceramics at the winter QV market stall, I was drawn to the look and quality of the pieces and even better that the prices are very reasonable. I already had some japanese ceramics from market stalls in Japan but was pleasantly surprised when I saw these in Melbourne. My tip is Udon bowls have a great size for use at home and it's surprisingly hard to find similar sizes in normal retail stores.

I have now been back to MIJ a couple of times and with friends to add more things to my home and theirs and they have not been disappointed. I read somewhere on their website recently that "We want you to keep visiting us and tell all of your friends about us. " This was me even before reading that, so mission accomplished.

Keep up the great work and products! I will always be pointing more people to MIJ for their ceramics and tableware needs.

Recently I was at a restaurant in Mooloolaba and loved the plates. Found out they were all from here MIJ. Ordered a large range of different styles as I’m a food photographer and they arrived promptly and all securely wrapped. Props can make a photo just sing. Thankyou for such beautiful pieces.

I love the gorgeous ceramics and entire ethos of Made in Japan. I get so much pleasure using my beautiful plates and bowls every day. It's also one of my first stops if I need a gift and am unsure as to what to get. The warehouse space at South Melbourne is stunning and there is often a good range of discounted pieces. Highly recommend, it's a local gem
