Mad Mex Victoria Gardens

I agree with the other reviews regarding the quality of the food at this establishment. It was fresh, using quality ingredients. However, the service that my friend and I received was absolutely appalling. We had arrived with the intention of utilising our free Mad Mex birthday burrito coupon as advertised online. This coupon, however, had not appeared in our account just yet. We attempted to ask the staff there to double check and scan the membership beforehand to avoid the hassle and ensure that the coupon was valid. Staff ensured that it was fine and that I shouldn’t worry. Staff were very friendly with their service but as we came to pay for our meal, someone who appeared to be the manager became extremely rude and abrupt in his service to us. He dismissed our birthdays, accused us of downloading the app to steal and blamed us for causing a hassle - despite that we had already putting in effort prior to ask about checking the coupon. His behaviour and service was extremely unprofessional and distasteful, in contrast to the the rest of the staff- whom were friendly and approachable. The owner was quick to respond to the hassle & showed great hospitality to us by waiving the technical error that was out of our control. This avoided further trouble in front of other customers and showed his great hospitality. Despite this, the (assumed) manager left it off with a few condescending and sarcastic remarks which was appalling to hear. Although it may have been strange to meet two people who have the same birthdays, this is not impossible. For him to disregard us and accuse us of falsifying our own birthdays left a sour taste at the end of what should be a special day. I applaud the staff and the owner for helping us with this situation, where the assumed manager/second in charge failed in his role as a hospitality worker.
