Macelleria Moonee Ponds THE BUTCHER WHO COOKS FOR YOU

We were a party of 3 on Sunday. We were warmly greeted & seated quickly. This restaurant has great dry aged steaks & the prices are very, very reasonable. Our meals were steak with mushroom sauce, a parma & a slow cooked beef sandwich without the roll (strange yes, delicious absolutely). All the meals were fabulous. More than happy. The gin spritz however was pretty ordinary.no fault of the barman, just a weird mix of ingredients that sounded good but didn't deliver.oh well!
The restaurant lacked atmosphere but mainly due to lack of Sunday lunch patrons.

They made a mistake with one order but everyone has been very kind to rectify. Also tried to help when uber did not deliver the next order. Very good quality food, thanks guys

I've just discovered Macelerria on the weekend and must say I loved everything about it that i went back with my family again on Monday night. The staff were super welcoming and friendly and the stake I ordered was juicy and one of the best I've had. Definitely recommend and come again

The steak was superb! Cooked perfectly. Has mixed roast veg & they were good. Accompanied by a Seville "Sewn" Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley. Beautiful lunch. I'll be back to try the ribs & duck & orange sausages. Yum

Have been to Macellerias on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed the experience. Good food, great service and has a really good atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The wagyu rump with mushroom sauce was incredible. Sweet potato wedges also amazing. Fantastic tasting cocktails as well (we got the espresso martini and the cocojito)

Good Parma, however, the steak is just that any sides need to be ordered extra. Nice place overall, most of the staff were nice enough.

Food was incredible! Arancini balls were so good, the steak was delicious too, BUT, the pork ribs where something else out of this world. Honestly, up the with the best, if not the best ribs I’ve ever tasted.

Only negatives I thought it you have to pay extra for sauce with your steak, I personally think you should get a sauce included with all steaks rather than adding an additional cost.

I’ve already planned to go back this week, even though it’s only been 3 days since I last ate here.

I along with my friends went this restaurant today. We ordered parma, burger and scotch with the sides. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was also good. The staff were friendly. We will again come back to this restaurant next time.

Was excited to check this place out but was disappointed with our experience. We came on ANZAC day and they were quite quiet. When we arrived the door was open and we walked in to no one greeting us. Had to get his attention. We were told to sit anywhere. All the tables were dirty and hadn't been cleaned. We sat at one of the dirty tables and he cleaned it. We received menus and water.

When it came to ordering we got 3 steaks and ribs plus sides, 4 drinks.

After about 15 minutes the meat all came out. Pretty speedy although we were quite disappointed that we didn't even get our drinks for 20 minutes. We had to ask to get our drinks, for more water etc. The staff looked bored and like they didn't want to be there.

As for the food I really enjoyed it. Basic sides which were yum and a decent piece of meat. The ribs were amazing highly recommend.

Overall service let this place down. We would have bought double or triple the drinks if we had been served right away and we walked away quite disappointed. Wouldn't go again for this price and service.

A big thank you to John and chef Laxman for the great food and service today. Really appreciate you both helping to make our birthday celebration special. The scotch fillets were perfectly cooked medium, the sausages tasty and the chips delicious. Having frequently been to the other Macelleria locations which suffered from quality inconsistencies, I can say this is one of the best experiences out of all previous visits.

Excellent food at great prices, quick service, friendly staff (just need a better playlist for background music)

This place never failed me, after the first visit I fell in love with the their Juicy tender stakes. Definitely recommended

This had to be the most over rated and over priced place i’ve dined at.
Where do I start. A steak with ‘sauce’ straight from the fridge. My pepper sauce was cream based and was served up straight from the fridge. They didn’t even microwave, even though it probably should have come out of a warm Bain Marie.
I had to wait while the steak sat there, for service and then for them to re hear the sauce.

It was well below average and sick of these new steak places with great photographers who make the food look well above the standard delivered.

Poor customer service from the start, half of our orders were incorrect. Food was very average, the beef and pork ribs very tough. Steaks mediocre
Customer service greatly improved later on as they changed waiters.

Superb night dining. Steaks were to perfection, the wines delightful and it was a pleasure to celebrate my birthday at such a great establishment. Well worth the night, thanks guys.

LIVEN users beware!
This restaurant does not accept liven payment on weekends, although there is no sign or term& conditions anywhere that state this issue
Steak was well cooked, food took a while to come out, we were waiting around 20-25 mins for our main. Nothing to complain about the food, staff is friendly, just waiting time.
However, management should do better in informing customers about payment options, maybe mention it in your menu like others do.would not travel as such if I know we cannot use our foodollars on weekends (although they have the liven sign sticking to their door at the front). Never had this problem before with any other restaurants. Maybe they should be on groupon instead if they only want to do promotion on certain days, think they are on the wrong flatform. Anyway this incident made the whole experience unpleasant and would not come back anytime soon, as the food do not match the price unfortunately.

Friendly service great selection of cuts and sauce. Cooked evenly and as requested (which can be rare!) And delicious chips.

Amazing food, great portions size, everything freshly cooked (full of flavour!) - chicken cooked to perfection

Just had our first order from here, have been wanting to try this place for a while. Absolutely Amazing food & Fast service.
