6 St Kliment - the Macedonian Orthodox Monastery at Kinglake is located just before the entrance of Kinglake National park.
The tranquility of this place is captivating. As soon as you drive in, you get the urge to stop and breathe in the fresh air, listen to the native birds, or feast your eyes with all the greenery.
The church located close to the entrance is small and intimate place where you can gather your thoughts and give thanks for having the fortune to be there.
If you are lucky to meet the Abbot of the monastery Father Gavril, you will be greeted by a gentle soul with great appreciation of nature, wildlife and art.
I’ve often come across some beautiful people, who I now call friends.
There is a true orthodox community and a pleasure to be around.
The beauty of visiting this monastery is that, your adventure won’t stop there. Once you’ve had your fill, you can go for a short drive to Masons falls, enjoy the beautiful scenic views and even have a picnic with your families.
My family and I truly enjoy our visits and are always looking forward to our day trips.
