Lyrebird Fish n Chips and Convenience Store

These blokes know how to be a great service to the community. Fantastic food and excellent relationships with regular patrons. Would recommend!

Yuk! Fish was like eating a steak! Chips discussing, and hotdog in batter was undercooked. New owners really have no idea what they’re doing.

I tried the hamburger with the lot.
It was sold to me $3 less than the listed price for some reason.
It was made perfectly. Delicious.
The staff were friendly and courteous, & there to help.
General presentation and lighting need a little improvement.

I’d give 3.5 if I could but can’t. I ordered than read reviews then stressed out that was going to be really sick. BUT chips cooked perfect fish cooked perfect the fish bites just a bit small compared to other places, hotdog in batter and chicko rolls were cooked perfect I hate getting a chicko roll and it’s not cooked right through so thank you. The dim sims and potato cake were over cooked but I couldn’t have everything good hahaha. The burger with the lot good but I think back off on the paper just a little.

We buy Hamburgers with the lot and sausages in batter, chips, potato cakes, their average things that I buy, from lyrebird milk bar never had a problem.
If anything, is nice and crispy and always fresh

Raw steamed dim sims.raw chicken burger. Hamburger with lot on sandwich bread yet not told first.hot chocolate and capachino

Love the fish and chips here. Freshly cooked and generous portions including reasonably priced.

Short wait and the staff were friendly. Generous serving of flake. The dim sim was good but potato cake and chips were not great.

Great fish (I don't eat chips:) ). Our 2-year-old gobbles down that flake like cake. Friendly owners. Store has useful long-lasting and cold-store items.

Food is lovely and the service is great. Eaten Souvlakis, chips, potato cakes " dim sims etc and have loved them all. Highly recommend this place.

Best fish and Ship shop in Carrum Downs. Dont Go anywhere else.
Everything you order is freshly made and crispy.

1st time I have been here and will be the last!
Grilled fish still had wet batter and fish uncooked, potato cakes were over cooked and souvlaki was terrible and tasted nothing like they should.
STAY AWAY OR JUST THROW YOUR MONEY IN THE BIN.

I asked for a fish bite and they cooked a piece of flake and cut it in half. Quite funny really! Mediocre food. Took ages to cook. Nice staff though. Don't expect much. But if you're craving fish and chips and are new to the area. Go somewhere else.

This place used to be good, but the staff appear to have changed. In Feb 16 my chips were a bit undercooked and my fried fish wasn't crispy.

Again on good Friday quite busy but understandable. Excellent food and service once again. Like this store, although it had gaPs in its stock ie not fully stocked.

I have always had good fish and chips from this place but hadn't been for a year or so. Got a meal of one tonight flake was so under cooked it should have been on the menu as sushi. Change of ownership has showed I miss the last owners they showed pride in their cooking
