Lumen People

Love this place. Not just great food and coffee, which other people will have noted here, but these dudes truly understand the importance of ambience in a cafe.

The lighting is warm and inviting and the music is always some amazing instrumental vibe that sets a perfect mood for either chatting with mates or a solo breakfast with a book.

The staff are all incredibly lovely - genuinely present and welcoming people, unpretentious with no fake service grin, you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. Authentic and classy.

I adored my time here, will be back again!

We visited for the first time a months ago, but we were very disappointed with the dinner service, the food was unimpressive, recommend giving this place a miss, maybe the lunch service and menu choices are better, or try the great selection of dining venues in Errol St.

Came here for brunch and had a 10/10 experience. The food was exquisite and clearly the product of a lot of care and attention to detail and skill. Everything was just super elevated and the value for money is incredible. Service was wonderful too, owners are lovely. Will definitely be returning!

The food was extremely delicious, coffee excellent and lovely service. Food was also a bit different to your usual breakfast fare and we could tell there was care and thought put into our meal. Beautiful food and coffee with extra special little touches, we will definitely be back.

Great bar a Vin with an outstanding selection of natural wines. The owners are warm, humble and full of passion. The dishes are pretty, tasty and the research of the produce is beyond excellent. Highly recommend

What a lovely treat to find this place as I was walking around looking for some brunch.

Service is excellent and professional, food is made from high-quality ingredients and locally sourced. Menu is European style, and although my sandwich looks unassuming, it was meticulously crafted, and I enjoyed every single bite.

Highly recommend coming for a late lunch, or for dinner with a carefully selected bottle of wine.

I thought I'd already reviewed Lumen People! Well now I am.

Just another great addition to the North/West Melbourne boundary along Victoria Street.

The coffee is as you would expect in Melbourne, but the food is excellent. Both times I've been, the food has been prepared carefully and not only that, it's been damn tasty too. That two birds is a hit. First time I went, they had a limited menu, which included two birds. Well the full menu has fledged the nest.

The steamed eggs thing are going through a bit of a phase in Melbourne, Lumen People do it well, however. That spreadable sausage and LA sauce absolutely lights the breakfast roll up. I'll try other things if I can move past that champion breakfast.

House coffee is by Seven Seeds, but there's a selection of coffees on the menu too. Filter, espresso etc. All from top quality rotational roasters.

The staff are always great, they talk you through things. Service is pretty polished and I passed my comments to the chef when I left. Credit where it's due, to hit the floor running like Lumen People have takes experience and skills.

The batch brew is fantastic, and often changes which keeps things interesting. The egg bun is reliable and delicious. I also love their flowers that change as well. Very kind people, warm welcoming space, great music, not overpowering.

Best breakfast in the area. Stripped back menu with every dish super well thought out and interesting. Get the figs and sweet potato with chorizo rye on the side. Insane. Lovely service. So happy to have this gem in the neighborhood

Cozy, friendly and amazing service. Lumen feels like a small home where you can pop in just for your take away or sit and have a beautiful and very yummy lunch!

Delightful cafe with warm, friendly service. The Burd Egg on Sesame Milk Bun was delicious. The egg is cooked to fluffy perfection! The light roast coffee was also top notch. Will be back.

The decoration is exquisite, and the waiter and the chef are very friendly. I highly recommend their buns, which is delicious!

This place has become my favourite spot in North Melbourne, it’s a new venture, and it’s building in popularity. Understandably so, the coffee is seven seeds, and very good! The Menu is just 7 items, which I love. And some really great choices, very different from anywhere else. The staff are also lovely! Always happy to see me!

As for the food totally original concepts of the old favs like the bacon and egg roll - the egg is like a firm custard with a delish sobrasada mash sausage all on a yummy sesame milk bun

Where to begin. Lumen People is the definition of a considered experience. The coffee is consistently outstanding, the food is delicious and interesting without being austere or inaccessible, and the ambiance is dialed in. It also helps that the people are lovely. Get into it.

Only been twice, had no coffee from them yet but being the chai fanatic I am I had to make a review (which is honestly something I don’t ever do for places) because they had the best chai EVER. I wish I asked but from what I could see they used a chai concentrate and in my experiences with concentrate I never really liked it thinking it was watered down and what not but NO. My LORD it was so flavourful! The spices were *there* like in a sticky chai (being my fav) and with concentrates not having sediments it was so silky! Not only that but the alternative oat milk I asked for hit those perfect nutty notes of chai I just love.although I got honey inside it as well I must try without because I don’t think it needs it:). So overall, great chai, great milk, great barista, and great vibes. Thank you!
