They open whenever they like, which is frustrating now that people don't work in the city much.

Absolutely gorgeous lady. I had to fix my pants last minute and she did a fantastic job all within 15 mins.

I had to get 3 pants altered and I paid $160 for them all. I trusted the lady who used pins to take measurements to do the job right. She partly did because 2 out of them were perfect. One however, wasn’t as we’d decided. I’m pretty sure she noted all the details on the day I dropped the pants off. Anyway, I take the pants back to the shop to get it fixed because I paid a huge sum but they didn’t agree to do it for free. They said the lady who took the measurements was sure only the length had to be done and not the waist. Guys, I’m a 100% sure the waist too had to be done.
I didn’t want to pay again so I just collected my pants from the shop.
Not too happy with the service team.
Maybe trust your customers next time!

Took my dress to get altered. I have a standard problem of having a short torso and almost all my dresses need the shoulder height reduced. The lady at Looksmart in Myer took a look at me wearing the dress and proclaimed that it could not be altered. The next day, took my dress to Alter it in Malvern and the lady there took some time to figure out what could be done. It speaks volumes on whether someone has the tenacity to look at a problem and figure out how to fix it or just simply say it can't be done. If you have an issue that is not straight forward.go somewhere else.

Kind staff, atmosphere was very welcoming and overall experience was wonderful! My formal dress was a size too big and was made to fit tall girls (I'm quite short), ended up with a dress that fit me perfectly for a price that I was very happy with! I've already recommended this place to my friends and I'd definitely come back here:)

Just received my bridesmaid dress today along with the other bridal party dresses and I was very displeased with the result with most of the dresses as the hemming of the dresses was so poorly done. Let’s not forget the unwelcoming service we were met from this one lady that gave us unusual looks upon arrival. She also snickered and shrugged her shoulders when we asked her some questions about the dresses. Do not go here unless you want to leave feeling annoyed and robbed of your money. You will regret

Brought my bridesmaid dresses and another dress here to be shortened and hemmed. Anh was lovely to deal with when we brought our dresses in to be measured.
My experience turned sour until we experienced rude customer service from the lady who was working there on Saturday at 4pm.   From the moment myself and my bridesmaids walked in, she was already staring us up and down as if she didn't expect us to be actual paying customers until I presented my paid receipt. We felt like she was looking down on us from the get go.
Throughout our interaction she sighed multiple times as if I were wasting her time. She mentioned I had to pay an additional cost to sew the lining of a sequin dress to which I was happy to do.  I then mentioned they charged me for 2 strap alterations (a one shoulder dress) and shrugged her shoulders - Blaming her colleagues for the mistake and not wanting to deal with it 'I didn't do the service! ' with her hands in the air, shaking her head and frowning at me, expecting I would just take the dresses.  

She let me go home with the dresses without having to pay the additional cost after explaining multiple times why I didn't need to.  

Problems did NOT end there.

One dress was altered well - great!  
One dress had it's lining not sewn well and flapped around and folded when walking. We ended up using safety pins to fix it, pointless job if needed.  
My sequin dress was just downright HORRIBLE. They simply cut the fabric WITHOUT hemming the dress and cut the lining shorter than the actual dress, visible when worn.  

I will NEVER go back! I don't even want them to fix it because they RUINED my dress and were rude to me!  Paid over $300 and they did such a horrible job and received horrible customer service. Cannot believe they wanted me to pay for the sequin dress' lining.
I will now have to go elsewhere to fix the bottom of the dress and have it shorter than I'd like because they cut the lining too short.

Do NOT go here. To put it nicely, they will NOT do a good job.

Had a last minute request to get a trousers altered and they were able to get it done within 30 minutes.
The lady who altered the trousers was also all smiles when getting my unexpected request done!

Great experience! Brought in a jumpsuit and had it redone twice. The ladies are very nice and patient! I am very happy with the result!

Ridiculous pricing for a very average job- I have worked with alteration companies for years and understand sometimes you have to pay for quality- however the jobs are rushed and the inflation on the “city prices” is ridiculous. Do yourself a favour and take your business to somewhere just down the road. You’ll save almost half (yes really) and you’ll have a better job. Staff are nice enough however obviously overworked and underpaid

I have honestly never experience such poor service. The lack of organisation or care for their customer's clothing is appalling. The lady who served me was already flustered and all over the place. Sighing her way throughout the entire time of service, was quiet unprofessional to watch. On top of that my dress not ready for collection at the time specified (as it was being altered at the time of collection) and come collection of my dress, my skirt that I dropped off to get altered too was missing. I had to leave as I did not have time to wait for them to find my skirt due to their disorganisation skills. I initially came to here because of the good reviews but utterly disgusted. Also over priced. I paid $44.95 to get the straps of a dress altered, my friend went to Looksmart Alterations EMPORIUM for $34.95. If only there was an option to give zero stars.

Looksmart is a chain of clothing alteration stores.this one is located on level 2 of the Myer Melbourne store (at the Lonsdale St end of the store in the corner).
You don't need to have purchased from Myer to use this service but you you can still use your Myer One card to accumulate points.
Cash and credit cards, onsite changing booth and collect later option.

Excellent customer service high quality work

I have been using lock smart alteration in Myer CBD for several plus years now. The ladies there are always friendly and attentive. Nothing is ever a bother and they have been able to mend some really odd tears for me.

I highly recommend their service for simple alterations to technical repairs and everything in between.

Opening hours are incorrect. They close well before the time on the website.
Called them specifically to confirm their hours but they were closed when I arrived.

The alterations were great quality when I returned the next day to pick them up.

Website said the store opens at 9.30. I arrived and waited almost 20 mins.no one was there. Took my business elsewhere.

The crew at Bourke St Myer Looksmart are fantastic tailors. I have had a number of items tailored here and they all came out perfectly.

Angela was a lifesaver! I arrived in Melbourne from New York with only the clothes on my back due to a luggage snafu. By pure luck I found Myer Department Store. I needed a suit for the next day of business meetings and offical opening of the Melbourne International Film Festival. Angela altered the pants and jacket in less than 4 hours. Also, a shout-out to Karl in the Mens Department who helped me find the suit and shirts at a very reasonable price. I found everyone in the store to be friendly and helpful.

The tailors was very helpful and i got my dress and pants alter and they work is spot on. Definitely going back.

This is an excellent service. They do complex and simple alterations equally well. They are quick and not expensive. Highly recommended.
