Lonsdale Golf Club reviews
29We had a lovely lunch at the Point Lonsdale Golf Club. Food, service, ambience - all really pleasant. Thank you Chloe, Jayne & Tommy.
What a great layout, you have to think of your way around. I would love to revisit. If you are in the area I would recommend a hit. Great facilities and very friendly staff who made me feel very welcome as a visitor. Thanks Lonsdale links.
A really good & interesting links style course with lots of fun.the restaurant will only serve meal from 11: 30am & 17: 30pm:)
Lovely facilities / clubhouse for enjoying a cold beverage post game. If you like to be punished by putting greens, this is the course for you! Looking forward to playing the Friday twilight golf in the future.
5 stars if it's not blowing a gale. Testing but interesting course. Enjoyed the challenge. As with most links courses be prepared to play the odd bunker or two, or even more.
The course was in fantastic condition. The layout was challenging, but also forgiving enough for mid-handicappers. Greens were consistent pace throughout and weren't too fast either.
We had a great day at Lonsdale Links today. The wind was a bit challenging but the course was amazing with variety of interesting and challenging holes. The greens were in AMAZING Condition. Lindsay Thomas
The course was in great condition. Some of the bunkers could do with more sand, considering I'm paying $110 a round. I'd expect to be hitting soft sand, not rock hard ground. The course is good but definitely not worth $110. The comparison course is queenscliffe which is more than half the price and is an outstanding course.
Very corporate after the old (homily) club house. The array of tap brews rivals many city club. Not sure how the food menu is but the dining room looks great, but the big draw card is the aspect from the outdoor dining area. WOW. All the staff that I spoke to were friendly and helpful. A place to visit while at The Point.
One of the best Golf experience that I have.it is above expectation, great golf course…. Well maintained…soft fairway anything I saw in this course was beautiful.
Good club house, great staff full of hospitality.
Don’t forget to read the green very well, it looks easy but it is challenging.
Really enjoyed playing here and will be back for sure
We had an amazing dinner at Lago last night with stunning views out to the lake and a great atmosphere. The food was divine.
Really good and recently rebuilt Golf team are very helpful and keen to get you playing. Dining has been challenged with Covid staff shortages so haven't had a chance to eat there yet. Some mates have and have reported back that it was good.
Think this course needs a few more years to really mature. The sand/shells on the fairway near the water make for some frustrating short game shots
The new layout is just exceptional. Every hole provides intrigue and excitement. Had a great time and will be back for sure.
New clubhouse offers offers excellent dining and casual facilities incorporating vista views of Lake Victoria and rolling fairways.
This is a fantastic short course in top condition! The new nine holes fits in with the old nine perfectly. A great example of how to do links golf well! The landscaping blends into to natural environment really well, due to the extensive use of native plants. A true pleasure to look at and play. Also, l am not a big hitter, so l really loved the non gender tees! I like to play Tee It Forward golf (it’s just more fun) when l am playing socially or by my self. Not having gender based tees helped me to feel more comfortable when l’m teeing off. I will be back.
Played Lonsdale Links in Feb 2021 after hearing great things about it. The course. It was in excellent condition; greens true, fairways with excellent grass coverage. The course is not long but the wind and undulating greens protect it. Trouble can be found if you stray too far from the fairway. There are many ways to play each hole, which adds to the strategy of the course. The par 3's require different clubs depending on the strength of the wind. There are several memorable holes, but my favourites included 14 ('Reverse Redan' based on the 15th at North Berwick, Scotland), 15 ('Samphire' where the 2nd shot plays across a marsh), and 16 ('Road' based on the 17th at St Andrews).
Lonsdale links lived up to the hype and we will definitely be back! Congrats to the club and course designers for producing another golfing gem on the Bellarine Peninsula.
The course is in great condition and great to play. We were surprised by how hilly it is and the length (we walked about 12 km). The layout is unusual and hole criss cross over each other, but signage is poor. Clubhouse is great, although not enough staff on the bar for our fund raiser event. The course will be up there with the other premium courses on the Bellarine.
Such a breathtaking setting, so well designed to make the most of stunning vistas. Obviously still finding their feet, but staff were great, food was value for money.just! Will certainly go back.
The course is a 4.5 stars but disappointed with the clubhouse service and food. Poor attention to detail and customer service. Had multiple mistakes on our food and the staff were disengage and rude. Service was slow and table clearing absent. It’s still early days for the new clubhouse but will need to pick their act up to match the stunning setting.
