Local Hero Singapore The Glen

The noodles of Laska are all broken.
The price is unreasonable and low qutitiy. Not enough to eat.

So sorry to LHS (Local HERO Singapore) in The Glen, been meaning to post this on both the LHS Facebook page and review yesterday.

First time EVER both my friend Peter and I visited a LHS restaurant ever, namely the one at The Glen. We both dined in to eat the Michelin Bib Gourmand-accredited Tiong Bahru Hainanese Chicken And BBQ Pork Rice (plus we bought a Tiong Bahru Hainanese BBQ Pork Rice to bring back to Peter's wife Althea, she LOVED it). And we absolutely LOVED it! It was PERFECTION in every way! Every element was flawless right down to the smallest detail. 10 out of 10, the absolute BEST Hainanese Chicken Rice I ever had, same goes for the BBQ Pork that came with it! To the staff and chefs of LHS The Glen, both Peter and I and his wife Althea thank you all so much for the top notch food and top notch service! Will very heartily and highly recommend to family and friends we will and we certainly hope to come back again as soon as possible!

UPDATE: Local Hero Singapore The Glen, thanks a lot again to your staff and chefs, so grateful, my sister shouted us your Tiong Bahru Michelin Chicken Rice earlier tonight on 15/01/2024.it was absolute PERFECTION! It more than lives up to its reputation!

Back in January 2020, whilst my parents and sister were holidaying in Singapore, they actually had that exact same Michelin Chicken Rice from the Tiong Bahru restaurant and the Local Hero Singapore version of it looks and taste exactly the same! Bravo and very, very well done! Definitely want to have LHS again and again including during Chinese New Year! I'm extremely satisfied!

Laksa was only warm and noodles were soggy, have to pay $2.20 for a very small portion of Sambal despite the main order being $31. Roast chick was so so.

Tried their curry laksa and Hainanese Chicken rice. Laksa is really good.really lemak (creamy). Chicken rice is fragrant but chicken is not as succulent. Still pretty good.

The food was nice, a little bland for my taste. I had pork belly dry noodle. Next time, I will try again.

The meals I ordered were just ok to me. Nothing special about them and the noodles tasted so bland.

Loved the Katong Laksa, the most authentic Singaporean version I have had in Australia. And fabulous Chendol served in a bowl, one of the few places that serves Chendol!

Ordered Hainan chicken rice for lunch it was beautiful and decided to get another serve for a takeaway too with some dry noodles as well. I can't get enough!

Oh my good! Finally found the best chicken rice in Melbourne! So delicious! Their char siew is so yummy and nasi lemak too! Rendang beef is chewy and tasty rendang sauce! Highly recommended! I’ll definitely come back again for the laksa! Oh yum

Food is just ok. A bit more expensive than the others, and 10% surcharge on the weekend is not very impressive. Food is quite salty and oily.

Disgrace, spoiled the good names of Katong and Tiong Bahru. My first and last time. Singapore’s credibility at stake.

2nd visit. Disappointed too. Soup is just warm enough to serve, not good. Noodle is bit and pieces, unacceptable.

Had a bowl of Laksa with fish for lunch today (Saturday 4th March 2023). Disappointed with the noodles as there were no bean shoot and only a few miserly tofu. There is also no egg. The quality of soup is also not as good. I wouldn't go back for the laksa and would recommend the same to others.

Great hainan chicken and laksa soup, tried lots of shops outside on kingsway and this is the best. My husband also thinks this is the best laksa and hainan chicken in the Melbourne. Will definitely come back

Ordered the noodles, chendol and the kueh kueh. Everything great except forgot to ask for chilli (not sure if they have any) for the noodles. The chendol very authentic. Would love to come back to try the laska
