Excellent place to dine and best Singapore food! Top notch quality at a reasonable price! Will definitely come back.

Ordered the Prawn Laksa to be mild. The first order came back with no prawns in it. I mentioned there's no prawns in the Laksa I've paid for, and the Laksa is also very spicy and salty. They remade the order a second time around. This time, with only 2 prawns and the laksa soup being just as spicy and salty. Ate the two prawns and half egg and left the rest. Will not be returning at all. The laksa soup base is excessively salty and spicy. The store should also warn anyone that the soup base has a very fishy taste to it as well.

I can't fault their service, though. Service was good.

Anyway, I got my Laksa fix at a different joint later in the day.

I had to update. 10% voucher for spending $30 over! Have been visiting this place for awhile, this is where i get my protein. Chicken chicken chicken. (Take away nasi lemak in the photo is also from the shop)

When i get a bit under the weather, I get the most amazing wonderful flavourful powerful singapore laksa here. Love the chill vibes and they finally serve coffee.oh so delicious.

The laksa it’s good but noodles are shocking and when i ask to reheat its still warm.the noodle are broken and warm.

Got the hainan chicken tonight from the Knox branch. Unfortunately the broth had no taste and I found not one, but TWO hairs on the rice. Completely put off by the meal and restaurant very unprofessional and waste of money. Local Zero not Hero.

Despite giving 5 stars for food, service and atmosphere, overall I can only give 3 stars purely based on the serving size. It is unusually small. This is in comparison to the your average serving of other asian food.

We were wandering around Knox Shopping Centre looking for somewhere for lunch and came upon Local Hero Singapore. We couldn't resist trying their Katong Laksa and Hainanese Chicken Rice and BBQ pork.
The laksa broth was excellent and so were the chicken rice.
Very friendly service.

The food was cold, had to ask them to microwave it. Taste was very average, lacked salt. Either they are having a bad day, or the reviews are? Me personally, wouldn’t rush back. My wife was right the food in the Bain Marie didn’t look inviting. She had a laksa from another vendor, pretty good. Couldn’t fault it.

This famous food court Local Hero Singapore Knox store is really like my second home.

I was introduced to my beloved Hainanese Chinese Rice store in Knox by my best Pal.

I absolutely love the foods like my Hainanese Chicken Rice, Katong Laksa, Belly Pork Dry Noodle, Fried Chicken, Taro dessert, Signature Cendol, Kopi O (black coffee) and their new Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes with yellow rice or steamed rice are getting very popular.

At one stage I was eating 4 days per week including lunch and dinner. Most times, it is chichen cooked in chicken stock with aromatic sesame oil rice cooked in chicken stock for lunch and dinner with their roast chicken and the same aromatic sesame oil rice cooked in chicken stocks.

The chicken rice comes with a delicious cabbage in chicken stock soup and there are 3 complimentary accompaniments like dark soya sauce, finely chopped ginger with aromatic oil sauce and delicious chilli sauce (my favourite) to go with the delicious Hainanese chicken rice, either cooked in chicken stock or roasted.

I have been eating chicken rice for over 56 years and no wonder Malaysia export over 20,000 chicken daily to Singapore for their famous chicken rice.

I love to eat here regularly as sometimes when I am running late, I will ring up to place all my orders so I can eat all my favourite foods just before they close.

When the owner found out I had stage 4 advance lung cancer, and if he does not have to drive to pick up his wife from work, he would sit down and talk to me for 1.5 hours after the store has closed.

If he has to pick up his wife, I will quietly and happily enjoyed all my favourite foods alone.

I am very fortunate that my best Pal introduced me to this place to keep up appetite to fight my cancer. I really enjoy 'my second home foods' and when I am here, I don't have any worry or stress as I know the main meals, side dishes, desserts and drinks will always be consistent and good.

I have introduced several of my friends to this friendly store including my dear friend who is a Japanese Master Chef who has been there 3 times quickly.

I like this place because the owner and staffs are friendly and reliable.

The owner and his wife visited me when I was at a private hospital near rhe city.

They wanted to bring my favourite foods to me but I was not sure it would be allowed but they still visited me when they were busy especially on Saturday.

I strongly recommend Local Hero Knox to everyone and I give it 5 for consistently delicious foods, friendly owner and staffs and a pleasant environment.

I wish them continuous success so I can go to this store, 'my second home' to eat my favourite foods very regularly.

The Laksa is really good and authentic taste, the service is good and foods comes fast.

Loved the plant based pork & tofu dishes and tumeric rice, and the girl working there was lovely. Will be returning!

Delicious Hainanese Chicken Rice and Dry Chicken Noodle. One of the best Singaporean/Malaysian takeaways in Knox area.

I've only tried the hainanese chicken rice here and I rank it very highly compared to all the other hainanese chicken rice I've had around Australia.
The portion sizes are just enough so you feel satisfied and not stuffed.
Staff are always friendly no matter how busy they are.
Wait time might be a little long if there are a lot of orders, but it's worth the wait.
Highly recommended.
As it's located in a food court area, seating may be a little hard to find especially during lunch hour rush.

Super tasty authentic Singaporean food! There are subtle differences between Singaporean and Malaysian style, and this place seems to get all of them right. Don't get me wrong, I love Malaysian food but it's nice to have true Singaporean style as well. Highly recommend getting a couple of fried chicken wings on the side!

Generous portions, hot and fresh. Will be back for more!

I just purchased a dish and paid by card, the girl who served me without telling me charged me 1$ extra just because I paid by card.
I'm not sure if this amount of extra is allowed or not but at least they will need to let you know. It is doggy and the dish was half size if what it should be. Food was very oily and poor quality.
I'm gastric because if it.
I will never buy from them again.

Just gave 5 stars to the Doncaster arm of the chain. My experience wasn't as pleasant at Knox.

Concur with the other reviews that the rice and 2 dishes is a let down. Very reserved stingy servings of the toppings leaves customers unsatisfied. Especially when it's done slowly in front of you. Other eateries at the Knox Foodcourt with similar rice and dish options were attractively plump and full of food.

The dishes weren't great either. Eggplant was alright. Calamari was not good. Wasn't crispy, was cold and just didn't go down well. The chicken rendang had good flavours. And the spicier chicken was alright.

Tumeric rice was gluggy.

Probably better to stick with the pricier dishes like the chicken rice and laska. Such a shame as there was potential to have a good rice meal with your own dish selections.

Hope the owner listens, as I'm not the only customer with the same experience with tight servings on rice. Seems like a repeated complaint but no change.

Hainan chicken was alright.

The highlight for today was unfortunately, the hot Kopi. It was strong and not too sweet.

Always a winner, comfort food for the soul. Tasty chicken rice and consistently good service and quality of food. Also love the Malaysian kuihs on offer - especially the peanut ang ku kuih.

I've to agree with the latest review. The staff are very stingy with their dish and rice portions. I got like 4-5 spoon full of rice, 2 small calamari and 3 pieces of rendang. I won't patronised again until they improve in their portion size. You can top up another 2-3 bucks else where to get a huge portion!

So pleased to have Singaporean favourites close to home! The Katong laksa is very legit and the chicken wings are excellent too. I’ve also previously tried the chicken rice which is good and the noodles are very close to the same stall in SG. It’s nice to see they are adding on other menu items too like the mixed rice and kueh.

Local Hero Singapore is in the new food precinct at Knox Westfield under its new refurbishment. I have decided to give it a go today and I’ve ordered a curry laksa with fried fish. The soup is another level which boasts its richness of prawn flavour, served with rice noodle which I much preferred it over the usual egg noodle and meehoon.

My SG friend had recommended the Local Hero to me as this was her go to local restaurant in Singapore. I can see why now.

Highly recommend to try their laksa if you haven’t. I’ll try their Hainanese Chicken rice next time.
