Okay yum. This is my favourite cafe in kensington. Staff are super awesome, quick and friendly.

Very high standards on food and service. For a local corner coffee shop with a sit down table service menu this is about as good as it gets. Go for the Hangover if you're up for a big breakfast.

Cosy, warm & welcoming cafe. Friendly & efficient staff that were more than happy to adjust food & coffee to taste. My meal was great & coffee wonderful! I'll be back again soon.

Very disappointed with the service today and lack of accountability. We ordered breakfast for 3 and waited over 45 mins while we watched tables around us who had sat down at least 20 mins after us get food, while others that had sat down around the same time also sat waiting. A clue should have been the table of 5 with a baby who were there before us get told their order never went through, who then got up and left frustrated.
You’d think this would have prompted staff or management to double check all other orders were tracking okay? Instead we had to ask why our order was taking so long, and then had the waitress return a few mins later asking what our order was and writing it down again. Realising our order never went through, we stood up to leave to blank faces from the waitress, and the manager clearly watching on. No accountability, no apology, no offer to fix the situation. Very frustrating and we won’t be returning.

UPDATE: I received a response from the cafe (they did send an email on the same day but it went to my junk folder), they apologised for my experience and said that they would use the feedback to improve the experience for their customer.

Had a poor experience whereby I waited 30 mins for food but it never arrived.
No apology, and when I sent a private email to explain the situation but no acknowledgement or response.
Definitely going down hill fast.

Excellent, friendly and cosy cafe. A very neighborly feel to it with happy and friendly staff. Well priced but be prepared to wait on weekends when it gets very busy due to it's popularity with locals. Try the breakfast pumpkin gnocchi its to die for!

Really tasty food, good quantity and the price is really fair for what you get. A lot of cafes are getting really expensive (which is understandable considering the current inflation) so I really appreciate local folk for still being accessible to the average person. Seating is well spaced out and doesn't seat people elbow to elbow, the music isn't too loud. It's just a really warm and comforting atmosphere. The staff are all friendly, and the coffee is my favourite in the Kensington/Flemington area.

Like this place, handy and coffee is good. Been there a few times and enjoyed ourselves, mostly it has been value for money. However, last time service was lacking a little and TBH the beef brisket toasted sandwich was almost flavourless and definitely under seasoned. Hopefully next time will be better.

Bought a gift voucher from Local Folk. Owner Ashley went above and beyond, writing a personal message for me and delivering it to my brother and sister in law's apartment.

I come from miles for my favourite coffee shop, I love the area and when I stand outside I may be lucky to pat a pooch.

Eggs Benny wasn’t nice, couldn’t finish it. Drenched in sweetness. The coffee is nice though. And the staff and atmosphere is lovely.

Come visit this place if your are around Flemington. Don't forget to meet Ashley the owner, he will make feel you home.

Great coffee and bakery. We love the neighbourly ambiance. We just wish that they considered putting some safety measures on the coffee window for people to line up. Sometimes local traffic is too dangerous for people, especially young kids and dogs.

Breakfast was chefs kiss amazing. I ordered simple but everything was cooked to perfection. All ingredients tasty and fresh!

Good coffee and decent food. However the service is appalling. I've been back time and time again hoping it would improve but unfortunately it doesn't and I've decided not to try again. I was left standing at the takeaway window waiting to be served for 10 minutes on one occasion without any acknowledgement while the staff chatted amongst themselves right in front of me. I understand needing to wait when the cafe is busy but a simple "I'll be with you shortly" is all it takes

Great spot for a local coffee. Friendly staff and good menu options. Their takeaway services were a key part of my sanity when getting through lockdowns!

Really disappointing experience at Local Folk today. Waited 45 mins for our food to arrive. Meals were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. So disappointing. This used to be one of my favourites. I raved about the food to my friend before we went. Service was ordinary too. I won't be back.

Terrible service told me and my partner to sit down at a table, then never took our order we waited 15minutes as they took 6 other orders of people who were in line behind us. Do not recommend to anyone
