Liverpool Road Retarding Basin reviews
27A lovely walk and a nice outlook. The path is a bit uneven in places. What really spoiled the fresh mountain air was the dog poo not picked up by owners Otherwise good spot for exercise and stretching the legs after a drive. Not for picnics.
Great off leash dog park, nice walking track around the perimeter. Lots of swimming areas for the dogs. The paths can get flooded and muddy during winter. Lots of excited doggos running around in the mud so don't wear clothes you're not prepared to get dirty.
Such a beautiful park. Not a long walk, but really lovely, and a great place to let your pooch off leash. No bins, so be prepared to carry your poop around with you. Not securely fenced, but still felt quite safe, as the roads by the outer paths seem to be not so busy.
Really nice spot to circle the basin and take in some of that mountain air. You're just next to the Dandenongs, and it's a beautiful area. Some of the scrubs are really thick there, and there's some signs indicating that it's a place of significance biodiversity and interest. The crush and run path ideal for most, but some wheelchair users may have difficulty in the steeper sections. I imagine it's really nice here in the Spring and Summer.
There's parking, dogs are allowed and there's loads of open space to enjoy. It does mostly seem like a walking area, and not somewhere you would go for a picnic.
Great spot to take the dog for a run, off lead walk, swim, game of ball and play with some new friends. Nice path around the water for a walk and large grass area for them to run and play. Nice easy ramp entry into the water for them as well. Quite popular when the weather is good so parking can sometimes be difficult
A lovely spot to go for a walk, especially with your four-legged friend/s. If you haven't been before however, keep in mind that there is limited seating available around the walking track & no public restrooms or picnic facilities available.
Great place to go for a walk, wade in the creek and bring your dog. Our dog loves being off lead here and meeting all the other friendly dogs. Very picturesque too.
This was my first time here walking my dog. Such a beautiful walk. My dog also enjoyed a run off lead and met very friendly dogs.
Great place to walk dogs and for dogs to meet other dogs. Its a pity people don't take their waste bags with them, those people make pigs seem neat and tidy
No toilets no bins and unsafe because dogs are running around loose May attack kids not an ideal place for kids
Nice spot for walking the dog, it would be good if there was a bin though as people tend to leave their dog poo bags around
Lovely off lead dog park, with dam for swimming. Fencing not dog proof in some areas so bring a lead. Lots of birds. No rubbish bins or toilets though, be warned.
Beautiful open space for the dogs to run on or off lead, or they can go for a swim. Amazing up close views of Mt Dandenongs. Small and long walks for the family. Can be busy. No restrooms.
Beautiful scenery and relaxing. Only disappointment was dog owners who have left their discarded full poo bags at the entrance!
Amazing park for dogs, beautiful surroundings, plenty of space and the lake and stream and great for the water baby pooches.
Cool walking track and swimming spot. Maybe needs a drinking fountain for people and dogs on the way around as can get hot on a warm day
This is heaven for doggies. Dogs are free to run and swim and play with passing dogs. The grounds are well kept, with a lovely walking track. Friendly dogs of all sizes and breeds and friendly owners makes it for a fun and relaxing time out surrounded by nature.
Great place to take your dog. Just watch where you step as many people don't clean up after their dogs
We was very lucky here today, my son lost his new airpods, a lady found them and went out of her way to find us, 2 young guy's also helped us find her, just goes to prove there is still lovely honest people around in these crazy times.
I enjoy going there with Tara every Monday and Thursday morning after Allan's Bakery to feed carrots to the Emus and the Kangaroos.
