Little Sichuan 味乡 reviews
16 Absolutely delicious and quite authentic- soo delicious that despite it being unbearably spicy i’ll be back to try if there is a less spicy option. The raw buffet appears to be refreshed often with very fresh ingredients. Warnings: 1: it isn’t a ‘cheap meal’ option.it’s easy for a single dish to come to $40+
2: the ‘sweet and sour spicy numb sauce dish 麻辣酸甜味拌’ which has ‘just’ one chilli symbol next to it on the menu comes by default, for anyone who cannot eat chillies (ie if your tolerance to spicy food is not up to being able to eat a chilli ️), extremely extremely spicy!
TERRIBLE! Customer service was lacking and staff were rude, were found on phones while dishes were waiting to be collected from tables. I've discovered that they do not add everything you put in the bowl (possibly just the meat), it scams you out of your money, I got dinner the other day and half my bowl had meat probably costing about 20 dollars but when I received the cooked meal there was no meat meaning I was charged for no reason and this wasn't the first time it's happened. As someone who has light hair I found dark hair in my soup, almost consumed hair. Will NEVER EVER BE GOING AGAIN.
A good selection of ingredients to make your own hotpot plus very tasty soup! As a newcomer it can be a little overwhelming. Would also prefer some of the ingredients to be cut or diced (e.g. Full length coriander or spinach leaves with their stem).
Was surprised to found out this in box hill central, we always walk pass, but never thought of dining there due to other famous ma la tang place, but this place has unlimited coriander which is already a big winner! They also have scallops and abalone, choices are very wide, I personally like mild spicy soup base, tried tomato base, not too fancy.
I thought it was quite delicious. I ordered the spicy sesame sauce flavor. After two o'clock, there were gradually fewer people.
What's wrong with the smell? I hired the worst waiter. After waiting for a long time, I asked how long it would take to cook. The waiter said it was already cooking in the pot. I asked again after 20 minutes. The waiter said it would only start cooking because the taste you want is only With this pot, cook it last. I'm really speechless. How far can you go by deceiving customers? I was even more speechless when I got home. There was only one piece of beef put in, but the meatballs were missing. I wonder if they were still cooking in the pot? I would like to remind you that if you go to eat, please remember what you cooked? How much did you cook? Be sure to ask if you want a special flavor that requires a special pot to cook it.
Tried it for the first time. But I like it. You get to pick what you want and the soup and sauce are spicy. Delicious
Big fan of spicy Sichuan style food, and this can be the valuable one to check out if you are too! Sichuan pepper was greatly absorbed into the flavor and it was worth to be there!
PLASTIC:
Be very careful when you eat in here. My daughter ate her noodle and spat out a 2cm long slightly shrunk plastic wrapper. Lucky she didn't ingest it.
Make sure you check your children bowl.
Little Sichuan served seriously flavourful noodles; some were spicy, some were not but both kinds were delicious and fairly priced. You could pick and choose what ingredients you’d like to add to your dish making it very versatile and rather fun. Service was prompt, and overall it was a great option for quick lunches and dinners.
Been here twice, second time i came, staff were EXTREMELY RUDE and not welcoming.one rudely used her head and an aggressive facial expression to tell us to grab our food as we waited to be seated, or even welcomed.
I've been here many times prior to COVID, and several times after (takeaway of course). I've never really had any issues prior to COVID, but now, it can be a real swing and a miss.
The ingredients are generally fine, nothing I'll nitpick about too much, but the soup quality seems to vary quite a bit each time I come and indeed does also seem to be different from what it was several months ago. In addition, when my order comes out, oftentimes the ingredients may be overcooked (e.g. Noodles) and the soup isn't very hot.
Love the soup base. My friend find it bit overwhelming tho.
Quite affordable.
Customer service could be improved.
I have been to Little Sichuan in QV in city and I loved their food. I thought this one in Box hill should be the same (as they seem to be a chain), but didn't know how bad will be the food taste and quality. Definitely will never go back. Rude staffs on top.
This place remains open I think it relies on the innocent diners who want to try this place out and surprise to find they got stung by a $30 bill for a bowl of very ordinary noodles.
We were going for a night out and decided to have a hot pot. When we were holding the bowl to stock the raw food we felt it was quite heavy (the bowl itself was already like 250-350 grams) and they charge $3.86 per 100 grams (seems like the price increased based on previous reviews) - and this is our first time here.
Me and my partner paid $30 and $22 each. Way too overpriced for an ordinary dish. Save yourself some money and if you want to come here make sure you are prepared to spend. Never coming back again!
