Great place with an outdoor eating area. I felt like a snack to start us off before hitting the markets and this was perfect. Tasty sausage, would recommend the soft pretzel. Lovely service, we were kindly given an extra pickle! Glad we stopped by here:)

Bought Bratwurst on a roll, nicely grilled with great onion sauce. Their chips are really crunchy and tasty. It is located just outside South Melbourne markets.

Little Hof is a good reason to visit the Sth. Melbourne Market. Finally a place to get a top Bratwurst with a German Weißbier. Einfach Spitze!

Delicious hotdogs as always. If you want to try amazing chips (french fries) it’s highly recommended to make it a meal, the chips are another level

Sorry I didn’t review a month ago coz the “Hof Dog” review would have been five stars back then. The bread/ buns have since changed from what were close to what we ate in Europe to the now too sweet, way too airy American hot dog style roll. Shame coz the rest of the ingredients are still A1.

Unbelievably good food! The Team at Little Hof catered our event in South Melbourne, every detail from the communication, organisation, genuine customer service… and then there was the food, glorious food! Our attendees were blown away by the quality, taste and presentation and were full as a boot by the end, excited to come back to our event the following day… mostly for the food. Phil, Eugene and Sunny the incredible Chef - these guys clearly LOVE what they do and they so it so well - we cannot thank you enough for supporting our business and making it such an memorable experience for our attendees

I recently had the pleasure of savoring the incredible pork knuckle at Little Hof, and it was an experience that exceeded my expectations! The texture was simply amazing - the skin was crispy and crackling while the meat inside was moist, soft, and juicy. It was a truly indulgent dish that left me craving more.
Additionally, the sausage was bursting with flavor and had a genuine taste of pork, and the chips were made with high-quality potatoes and had a satisfying crunch.

Overall, Little Hof offers an exceptional German dining experience that surpasses even the restaurant in Hahndorf. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious meal!

Anyone in the area of South Melbourne market, I give a four thumbs up to Little Hof. It’s great German food and Eugene who is there with a smile knows his stuff and yes he has a German accent, no sorry I meant Bavarian accent

Great for takeaway as well, I had mine delivered across the West Gate today and that pork knuckle was still warm with the most amazing crackle!

Just don’t get the beer it’s German, it’s pure (brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot, which is a law that guides beer making in Germany for about 495 years now) it’s amazing and it’s from a smaller German brewery that has been around since the 16th century, yup they’ve been brewing beer for about 450 years, they must be doing something right

My favorite is the currywurst.

Full disclosure, born and bred German, so I do know a bit about authentic German food.

We went here a few weeks ago and there was an issue with the skin of the bratwurst that we ordered and couldnt eat it.

The owner was really nice and reached out to apologize, explaining that there could be an issue with the butcher and offered us a free sausage on our next visit.

The next time around we got the kransky and it was really delicious!

Thank you Philipp

Holy rip off Batman! Tasty but for $11 (& a misleading sign photo where it looked bigger) I expected a bit more than what I got. Absurd.

Pretty disappointing $13 for this little sausage that didn’t even fill the roll it was in. Asked them to take out the sauerkraut and they took everything out.
Was expecting a bit more than this for the price charged.
I lived in Germany for 3 years and this is a far cry from the sausages over there.
Worth 7 bucks at best

Very efficient takeout, got cheese kransky hotdog and the currywurst, highly recommend the currywurst as a snack. The cheese kransky hotdog was quite underwhelming and small for the price.

What a find! I was desperate for authentic bretzen for our family Christmas Eve lunch. My Bavarian father insisted the best bakery was on Glenferrie road where I bought the weisswurst. I asked on Facebook and various places were suggested. Malvern had nothing so I took a gamble! I hit the jackpot. These are as authentic as I’ve tasted in Melbourne! All those German restaurants should take note. Even my father was ecstatic, so he’ll be a customer in the New Year!

As I waited to pick up my order I noticed the delicious food they served and had I more time, especially with parking, I would have stayed! I bought take away sauerkraut which didn’t disappoint. On Christmas morning the last betzehl is a little dry but sprinkled with water, 30 seconds in the microwave and they’re superb.

The parking is always an issue at the market and my only negative is that more sea salt is needed, plus you’re a little bit of a drive from our farm. But just as well, because I’d be oozing out if my dirndl if this place was close to home.

As that Austrian broke says…I’ll be back!

I've stopped at Little Hof a few times now, usually because I'm popping to Clement next door. I genuinely enjoy it, I struggle to eat kranskies in general, but the Bratwurst and currywurst are so, so good. The ingredients are all great quality. I did get the jalepeno kransky and it was delicious, but I shared it with my mates. I think they are a great spot for a quick snack and the pillowy soft rolls are to die for. It just rounds the german style dogs off perfectly. Eugene and the team are really accommodating. Grab a beer too if you're thirsty.

My fav was the spicy German hotdog with rocket and relish. Pork hock also outstanding. Crispy outside and tender inside. German curry sausage was interesting as it had a bit of a sour flavour which I havnt tried in curry version before. Surprisingly their donuts were also very nice esp how soft and fluffy they were!

Great place for German food! Would definitely recommend their pork knuckle and cheese kransky. The pork knuckle was perfectly cooked inside and came with some sauerkraut and pickles to balance it out. They had plenty of space to sit down and have a meal. Service was great and it’s also a great place to just grab some food if you’re at South Melbourne Market!

This place is a real gem. The food is incredible; the sausages are juicy, flavourful, and have all the right toppings. The pork knuckle is crispy and falls off the bone, just like it should. The pretzels are incredible; soft but crunchy and full of flavour. Add on top a selection of imported German beers, all at a very affordable price. It's hard to fault.

On top of this, the service is amazing. Eugene is a real hero, and you can tell that he is passionate about the food he delivers. I've been here many, many times over the past year, including during the aftermath of lockdowns, and the quality has been perfect, always consistently good.

This place is easily worth going to. I recommend the cheese kransky. The cheese is delicious and complements the meat perfectly. I love this joint and always have it in mind when I'm choosing what to eat.

Great little German Street Food bar on Cecil Street (South Melbourne Market)

The food options include German sausages, pork knuckle and Bretzel. Also Strudel for dessert.

Good selection of German beer on hand - the staff are happy to explain the beer options and make a recommendation too.

Well worth a visit.

Good value for money and tasty food! First time eating here tonight and we enjoyed our food. The pork knuckle was so crispy outside and tender inside. The lady at counter was very friendly, patient and willing to help:)
