Little Athens Old-School Souvlaki reviews
22 This is an oldddd school fish and chip place.
Had a chicken and lamb souvlaki & a potato cake for my son.
The lady had made two potato cakes for my baby incase one was too crispy - that’s nice to have that attention to detail as she was right one was a bit too crunchy for the little guy.
I had the chicken souvlaki and it was actually so fresh and delicious, the wrap wasn’t hard, you didn’t need water just to swallow, it was saucy, ingredients were fresh too.
Freaking 10/10 loved it.
Absolute hidden gem. Everything we've tried has been amazing. Personal favourite is the Chicken Gyros, must try.
My husband and I visit Little Athens atleast once a month for a year now. We absolutely love the lamb wrap and lamb plates. The spicy lamb options are a definite try if you are into spicy food. The owners are very sweet and friendly. Definitely ask them for wine suggestions as they have a good range of drinks. The Greek dessert options are nice too. We tried this coconut based dessert once and it was really enjoyable! It is always a wonderful experience going to Little Athens. As we visit them quite often, it feels like family going there.
Absolutely superb lamb kebab. The quality and flavors are unlike your regular kebab restaurant in Melbourne. Also the pita bread is so light and fluffy to taste.
If you want to enjoy next level kebabs, this place is a must go.
I recently visited "Little Athens" in Carnegie and it consistently earns its five stars. The lamb wraps and platter were incredibly flavorful, a true delight for my taste buds. The selection of Greek desserts is unparalleled, offering a sweet ending to the meal. The variety of Greek drinks adds an authentic touch to the experience. What truly sets this place apart is the outstanding hospitality from the owner and Elanee. Their warmth and engaging conversations make every visit memorable. My wife and I make it a point to dine here at least once a month, a testament to the restaurant's consistent excellence. "Little Athens" not only captures the essence of Greek cuisine but also creates an inviting atmosphere that keeps us coming back for more.
Passionate and delightful. Been at Little Athens a few times and it never fails to deliver. Getting to know the owners you can tell the love and passion that oozes out of the premises. The service and quality arriving at the table is always first class. A delight to spend a wonderful afternoon at Little Athens. Always going back.
Well Little Athens Old School Souvlaki in Carnegie has certainly got me hooked.
It takes me back to Monastiraki Athens in a heartbeat.
Their souvlaki is authentic and super delicious.
My 2 favourites are the Spicy Lamb Kebab and the Pork Gyros, but seriously every time I try a new item off the menu it becomes my new fave.
This is the greatest low-key high-quality lunch or dinner spot in Melbourne, whether you dine-in or take-away.
Everything is fresh, flavours are incredible, the family loves it.
5 stars - absolutely!
Highly recommended.
Chef Yianni is a Greek culinary master! What a delight to meet him and sample his incredible, authentic cuisine. A few nights ago I tried the lamb kofta wrap for the first time, it was so tasty and light and fresh! Healthiest souvlaki I've ever had. Went back again tonight and tried the chicken gyros and pork gyros, did not disappoint! The flavours are out of this world. What I was most impressed with though is that Chef Yianni really cares about our welfare, treats you like family and only feeds you the best! Bravo and thank you!
Very beautiful restaurant and very approachable and kind staff. I really enjoy the food I ate. Highly recommended souvlaki shop.
Stopped by to have a second lunch. The spicy lamb souvlaki did not disappoint. I will come back here
I got the platter for two for an approx of $60+ (not sure of the exact amount). It was a massive feast, fit for a family of 4 easy!
The bowl of chips and salad itself was HUGE! Light flavours on the salad.
The meat itself was very juice.
We got to try all the options (included chicken, lamb, pork) with toasted pita breads on the side.
The host is very friendly too, the atmosphere at the restaurant is very cosy and light. If you're in the area, drop by for a pita pocket or two
I'm not one to leave a review, but i'm absolutely blown away by the service we experienced tonight. The food was fresh, yummy and high quality. The atmosphere and our server were amazing! He explained different ingredients in the items and gave us dessert and some lamb (separately) on the house.because we just had to try it.and i'm so glad we did because it was DELICIOUS!
I rarely write reviews, but this experience compelled me to share. This place has the best souvlaki I've ever had. The pita is amazing - soft, fluffy, and perfectly charred. The salad within is incredibly fresh, and the meat is tender beyond words and spiced to perfection. The owners are warm, welcoming, and full of excitement. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars, I would. Can't wait to come back.
Lovely Greek restaurant with a nice ambience. They have delicious chickpea kefte with Tzatziki dip with generous portions and reasonable pricing along with great customer service!
I ordered a Kebab wrap, chips with cheese and rice pudding. The services was EXCELLENT! Every person giving service was smiling, asking how I was doing and genuinely trying to improve service, I wish all restaurants in Melbourne would do this!
The wrap was great and the rice pudding amazing.however the chips were a little bit soggy and I guess it is the type of chips they use that become soggy too quick when they cool down, but the tomato sause was good enough to drink is as is! Apart from this, everything was great!
Just stopped in to get some dinner on night shift with a fellow colleague and we both got the lamb kebab with chips in it! Absolutely unreal! Will be back here for sure!
The service was unreal as well.
Best Greek food I’ve ever had. The lamb kefte is a must have. Loved the melintzanosalata as well. And the owners are amazingly kind!
Amazing food and even better service, would definitely recommend. We are local and will definitely be coming back regularly.
This place is definitely a must visit! The food, staff and atmosphere are amazing! And what I assume is the owner could not be more hospitable and caring to make sure that you have the best possible experience! Will definitely be coming back for more!
Courteous staff, fresh and yummy food. They never fail to meet the expectations of their customers. Would love to dine in again
