Lipari Cafe Bar Restaurant

This is my first time at Lisari. I came here because the reviews of the place were good. I didn't get the same experience however.
I had to ask to order my food and the service was ordinary. I ordered the carbonara which was a bit gluggy and dry. My daughter had to add a lot of salt to the dish which l shared with her. I don't think I'll return since l could have made the dish for a lot less than what they charged for it. Just a bit disappointed.

Liparis has been a Geelong institution for many years. You know that you can turn up for lunch or dinner and that the food will be sensational. From the warm welcome to the free, generous slices of fresh bread, you are only charged a small fee if you bring your own wine. My friend had the veal scaloppine and was very impressed and I had the entree size chicken, spinach and feta and cannelloni. Melted in my mouth! Two generous cannelloni, smothered in a rich tomato sauce with a huge salad! We couldn't fit in their tiramisu, so we took it home to share!

Amazing pasta! The best home made gnocchi in Geelong and even better than alot of Melbourne Italian restaurants we have tried. Gnocchi Bolognese is simply a blissful plate of tasty comfort we regularly crave!

Came in for Mother’s Day and received some of the worst service myself and the family have had. It was not at all busy, we were one of the first tables to be seated first but were the last to be seen. Hard to tell if the 2 waitresses on were lazy or Just needed more training.
We waited an hour or just over for pasta.which takes 10minutes to make with no doubt batch pre made sauces.understanding they were doing lots of takeaway etc so it would take longer however again it wasn’t busy and definitely shouldn’t have waited an hour.
We have been coming here for years and the service has always been good. We won’t be coming back in for table service again and may just opt for takeaway

Fantastic food. Pesto gnocchi. Spaghetti bolognese. Fettuccine carbonara. I recommend them all. BYO wine and there’s a great little wine bar/shop next door.

Delicious! I used to come to Lipari as a child and have started making it my regular takeout spot. Pasta is delicious, great portion sizes for a great price! Staff are super friendly!

The good here is fantastic! No fuss menu, mostly consisting of pastas. The entree size was big enough for one. Hell, even the kids sized pasta dish was enough for my wife! The lady who served us, too, was very friendly and polite. And to top it off, they were playing Billy Joel! We had a lovely dinner and would highly recommend this place.

Came in for dinner last week, front of house was very informative, friendly and fun! Had the Primavera Ravioli (Entreë size) as the portions are huge Very tasty sauce, served with a generous bowl of parmesan to share with crusty bread slices, absolutely delicious Definitely value for money, will be coming back ️️

We booked dinner last week. At no point when making the reservation, when we entered and were seated or when we ordered our drinks were we told that the restaurant had a limited menu of just pasta, no mains. Not even mentioned on Facebook. We only found out after our beers arrived. Too late to leave. Disappointing. The food was fine, but the lack of communication regarding the limited menu (and yet the constant calling out by one particular waitress from behind the bar to customers to put their masks on) was off-putting. It wasn't a last minute decision either as the limited menu had been laminated so plenty of time to communicate this fact. If your party only wants pasta, then this is the place for you.

Pasta craving and Lipari came instantly to mind. They make the best genuine lasagna I’ve had anywhere. Kind, attentive and gentle young waiter always welcoming. Enjoyed the bread box to mop up ragu. Food was delicious and tasty. Back soon. I highly recommend.

Great food as always, felt really safe eating in the restaurant with really good spacing between tables, cleaning and great staff. Love Lipari!

Not a food critic - but the pasta and dessert here was amazing!

Had the chefs special and carbonara, tiramisu and hazelnut ice cream. Absolutely phenomenal flavours and portions!

Such a wonderful yet accidental find on my way back to Melbourne. The food was excellent and had the heart and warmth that I associate with dinners at my grandmothers house four decades ago. Traditional Italian wholesome cooking with an atmosphere that was cosy without being dated nor trying to be "too cool for school". The service from all the staff was excellent and attentive, finishing off with stealing my wife's tiramisu and daughters lemon tart left me feeling guilty yet shameless. Try it, you'll love it and I'm a bloody hard marker!

I love the restaurant. Its modest & comfortable, the service grand & the food authentic Italian. Loved it! I'm already looking forward to my next meal.

Didn't book ahead and they were packed, however they found a place for us. Pastas and bread expertly done, Italian food done right.

We ordered take away as we could not get a table when we called to book. Food was lovely, fresh and home cooked. The small details such as single serves if parmesan and fresh thick beautiful bread topped off a great night.

Classic Italian, homemade gnocchi, fresh ingredients, and lovely staff. With big portions and decent prices, this place is a must try!

Unfortunately there was no easy access for people with disabilities.
Definitely will visit again!

The food is great but you can't take the left over food that I couldn't eat for my lunch the next day. Service was very good.
