Lilac Wine reviews
21 My husband and I absolutely loved our experience at lilac wine bar!
The place had a fantastic atmosphere and loved the eclectic vibe. All of the food was to die for especially the lamb, mince on toast and eclairs. One of the staff members (I think he said his name was Rich?) paired the best wines I have ever tasted with the food. I loved how passionate he was about wine and described all of the drinks. The staff were all amazing and the service was incredible. They were so knowledgeable and friendly. Couldn’t fault anything about this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to go to a great food and wine bar!
A new place to go and try. The set menu (starting with 6 pp) is one of the best that I ever had. The entree chicken eclairs its to die for. The bread shusshhh we asked for a second round sooooooo delicious. Nice environment. The only "problem" that we had was the service/charge for "cutting the cake that we brought". Was quite expensive.
I have heard wonderful things about Lilac Wine. Everything exceeded my expectations. Wonderful food, wine and experience all round. 11/10!
It was an absolute amazing experience!
The food was amazing, tasty and enough so we were not hungry after the chefs menu.
Service was impeccable and the place is beautiful!
Highly recommend it, every dish had such beautiful flavors that I was surprised with it.
Incredible service and even better food. 2 things… get the brussels sprouts and get the chocolate pudding.
Great menu, nice portion sizes and fresh and tasty dishes. Excellent ambience, lighting and acoustics. Highly recommend.
Went on a Thursday night. Parking was quite difficult which is expected for Cremorne. Bar was packed and really loud - definitely not a place to take the hard of hearing! I was excited about the delicious aromas emanating from the wood-fired oven. Unfortunately it was understaffed, our waiter was earnest but seemed flustered and service was slow. Servings in the set menu were generous, and some dishes were very tasty, but for the price, I was a little disappointed with the quality of some of the dishes. Slightly rubbery pig’s ears in the salad added nothing for me. Lamb neck was overly charred which dominated the flavour and the potatoes were also overcooked. However the plus side of eating less lamb and potatoes was that I had more room for dessert, which was a highlight - a deliciously light Rum Baba with custard.
Visited Lilac Wine on a trip and was not disappointed. The food was super delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The space is also really warm and inviting, loved the disco ball.
We’ve been to Lilac now three times (twice in the last week for my birthday celebrations and once when it just opened) and I would happily go back over and over. We’ve had the lovely Erin serve us twice and we remembered her when we returned. We also got to chat to chef Kyle! Lilac’s menu is delicious - dissimilar to lots of popular Melbourne restaurants which share a very similar menu. Lilac is original, tasty and has a wonderful atmosphere and staff. Thanks for always making our visit memorable:) we’ll be back soon!
Lovely spot, great variety and quality of food made to share. The wine was diverse and fun too.
We had a wonderful lunch for my dads birthday here. Liam was our server for the day, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, while maintaining a consistent and punctual service. The food was stunning, all fresh and sourced from high quality/home grown suppliers. Big props Lilac
Great atmosphere & service but was just way too overpriced for their Wines & cocktails. Very meagre servings of wine & $20 for a small glass of a cocktail is daylight robbery.
Much better value can be found at the many other wine bars in Melbourne
My friend and I had a fantastic night here. We ordered the set menu and the waiter allowed us to swap out some of the suggested dishes as my friend has some food intolerances. That paired with a perfectly recommended bottle of wine made the night very enjoyable. Great atmosphere; you can’t help but love a disco ball in the restaurant.
Oh wow! I love this place. Food is very good & atmosphere is on top of everything. Will definitely come back.
+ waiters are doing an amazing job.
Lovely, friendly staff who are also very knowledgeable. The food is incredible and they can cater for dietaries - if the beef hearts are in the menu I highly recommend. Whilst some say the meals are small, they’re filling and reasonably priced and it’s about getting the right mix and trying different dishes. Wine is always good and best of all, great ambience, dog friendly and not pretentious.
Heard great things about here! Had the sunday lunch, and the food was very- eh. Pork wellington, meat was dry but the pastry super soggy. Desert was tasty, but only because it tasted like Milo ice-cream. Bread was probably the highlight of the food. Nice wine list and the staff very attentive. Weird vibes, quite an older crowd, not much of fun atmosphere even with a DJ present.wouldn’t go again:/
I recently dined at Lilac that left me with mixed feelings. While the food was reasonably good, the experience was marred by the loud and unpleasant music.
The music played in the restaurant was simply intolerable. It was excessively loud, which made it difficult to hold conversations or enjoy the company of others. Unfortunately, the volume seemed to increase as the evening progressed, creating a rather unpleasant and overwhelming atmosphere. Additionally, the choice of music was questionable, with a playlist that consisted mainly of harsh and discordant beats that didn't align with the dining experience.
Thankfully, the food at this restaurant managed to salvage some of the dining experience. The menu offered a decent variety of dishes, and the presentation was visually appealing.
Unfortunately, the unpleasantness of the music greatly overshadowed the positive aspects of the dining experience. While the food was acceptable, it was hard to fully appreciate it due to the overwhelming noise. Dining at this restaurant felt more like enduring a loud concert than enjoying a relaxing meal. I left the establishment with a feeling of disappointment, wishing that the management had paid more attention to creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for their customers.
Really great service, great wine list and interesting food! Lovely live music and a great venue.
We didn’t have a booking and were seated at the bar - but the staff made efforts to seat us on a table (despite it being a busy Saturday night) upon request. They also had spot on recommendations on the food and drinks menu.
This was my second visit to Lilac Wine in two weeks because I love it so much! The ambience, service, food and wine are all so amazing. Alex and Caleb are such friendly and helpful waiters and gave great recommendations. I am obsessed with the Pinot Noir - love how they rotate it weekly too. Also, for a French inspired wine bar I cannot believe the amount of vegan dishes on offer - I had the same 5 dishes two weeks in a row because they were out of this world good. Can't wait to go back soon, a fave new local.
Food sounded good but tasted average, service was amazing. Looked great on insta but vibes were a bit average and music was so loud I couldn't hear the person next to me
