Life Saving Victoria reviews
7Recommend the First Aid Training Course! Jack our trainer was very professional and obviously very experienced. NOTE: Don't get caught out. Must do an online component for the course and this must be done prior to attending. This did not stand out in the correspondence and several people were sent away to be rescheduled for another course.
I had some troubles with a booking for a course. Jess from customer service was amazing and helped me so much. Truly grateful!
Although this is supposed to be an emergency service organisation, they worry more about making money from the RTO arm. So much so, the only way to get a job as a pool lifeguard you have to pay to do the course, even if you are already a volunteer life saver.
This organisation is the last place you want to go for training of any kind. Many trainees have left first aid courses not knowing what they were doing as they were rushed through in a couple of hours.
Bullying is promoted throughout the organisation, and flows down to lots of the local clubs.
Life Saving Victoria would be in a lot of trouble if the government ever investigated their set up and use of funds completely.
It is a shame one organisation within Australia lets all the other states down.
Perhaps they could take some lessons from the life saving services in SA and WA.
Recommending the Community Surf Life Saving Course, run by LSV, perfect for anyone who wants to help make our beaches and waterways safer for all our community. Down-to-earth trainers, they have a lot of invaluable life experience to share. And you get to do board rescues
A horrible experience completing an online CPR update. Poor course content including spelling errors and structure. What's worse however, was the latency to receive my certificate or communication about that. It's been almost 2 weeks and I still have NOTHING. People need their certs for work and this is a disgrace. I understand Covid has made things hard but having to wait this long for even documentation to prove a certificate is on its way is unacceptable. If you need your cert updated quickly, I advice doing it elsewhere.
An organisation based around Knee jerk reaction's and being reactive rather than proactive. Any good the organisation does is smothered in red tape and bureaucracy.
