Learn Vietnamese - Tutor

Xuan Vi has been helping me with my Vietnamese for over 5 years now. When I first started with learning with her, I knew basically nothing. I had tried studying on my own, but Vietnamese is a difficult language. It shares very little in the way of grammar, vocabulary or phonetics with English. I sincerely doubt that I would have had the ability to go about this without her.

During the time we've been studying, our lessons have grown more and more advanced. Xuan Vi always shows up to our lessons prepared with new material, tailored to my skill level. She understands the things I struggles with, and knows to give extra time to review in that area. I have seen real growth in my abilities after each lesson, and after years of study, that adds up to a lot!

My wife's parents do not speak English, and communicating with them was frustrating and difficult. Through our study, I've been able to both speak and text with them and develop a real relationship. This has had a profound impact on the happiness of my family, and I couldn't thank her more for it.

Anyone considering learning Vietnamese could not find a better teacher than Xuan Vi. It will still take patience and determination, but she'll be a great guide for you along on the way.

I was informed by my future Vietnamese daughter in law that I would be required to make a speech at the wedding ceremony in Ho Chi Min. As the ceremony would be in Vietnam I thought it only proper that I give it in Vietnamese. Xuan Vi was the person I turned to for help. I found her to be very professional she not only assisted me in learning basic Vietnamese but also in writing my speech. The Vietnamese relatives were quite taken by speech. Xuan Vi also gave me insight to Vietnamese culture and customs. She is very passionate in her teaching and uses various methods to accommodate student abilities to learn.

Xuan Vi is one of the best Vietnamese tutors in the world. Learning Vietnamese with Xuan Vi is fun and entertaining as well as serious. She knows everything about how foreigners think about language and how to get them to think a bit like Vietnamese to make it more fun and to achieve more. Xuân Vi is an excellent Vietnamese tutor. Vietnamese is a very complicated language in some ways but Vi is always able to help me understand a certain word or phrase even if it has no direct comparison in English. She is a friendly and fun teacher, and very patient with my frequent mistakes and forgetfulness! Vi primarily speaks the Southern dialect of Vietnamese but also teaches common words in the Northern dialect, and prepares short video and audio files for us to practice with that feature accents from across Vietnam. Her lessons are very well planned out and the homework she gives is engaging and helps cement the knowledge gained in the tutoring sessions. She is clearly very passionate about teaching Vietnamese and she does an amazing job.

Learning Vietnamese with Xuan Vi began as a hobby. But Xuan Vi doesn't just teach Vietnamese - she is also passionate about her people, her country and her culture. Xuan Vi combines a deep understanding of both Vietnamese and English to impart her knowledge of language and culture. I now live in Vietnam and while Vietnamese will always be a difficult language for a native English speaker, I am constantly complimented for my pronunciation and usage. Thanks to Xuan Vi's teaching my Vietnamese opens doors to a beautiful and ancient culture that few Westerners experience and I will be forever grateful to her for starting me on my journey through Vietnamese society.
